In PJ's office
Ben has just arrived back in town, much to the dismay of PJ.
PJ : Ben gives you any trouble you let me know
Maggie : Oh yeah, and what sort of trouble would that be?"
PJ : (laughs) Get out of it. Wanting to doss at your place (laughs)
Maggie : You know how the Boss feels about members getting involved with each other
PJ : Well I know how I feel about it
Maggie : Well, I suppose if you have some deep ethical problems with two people working in the same station having a relationship, then we could always.....
PJ : Yeah right. Listen, any problems from him, I'll warm him off
Maggie : I'll keep it in mind
PJ : Good on ya
In the Main Part of the Office
The following day when Ben didn't get back to Nick's until late, PJ starts to get suspicious
PJ : Uh, did Ben get over to your place last night?
Maggie : Why would he do that?
PJ : Well, I don't know, did he?
Maggie : I thought he was drinking with the Big Bad Boys Club
PJ : Simple question
Maggie : Well, I haven't been cautioned.
In PJ's office
PJ has found out about Ben knowing about the witness protection thing.
Maggie : Oh, well, I mean, that's good in one respect isn't it. At least you know he didn't come to see me.
PJ : Who would believe that? You know that.
Maggie : What, it didn't cross your mind?
PJ : Well, I trust you.
Maggie : Do you?
PJ : It's Ben I don't trust.
In PJ's office
PJ has just wrapped up the case. Maggie is feeling a bit guilty about thinking that PJ was going to hang Ben out to dry.
Maggie : I really thought you were going to hang Ben out to dry
PJ : Oh you did, did you?
Maggie : Uh, I should really appologise for ever doubting your very fine skills detective
PJ : Maggs, you should have just waited to see where I was going on a lead
Maggie : Yeah, I should have. Well, seeing justice has been served, how about you come over to my place tonight and I'll cook some prawns, open a bottle of wine, about 8?
PJ : Prawns?! Wine?! About 8?!
Maggie : Uh huh
PJ : I can't
Maggie : Why not?
PJ : I got a dinner date with a bloke. Don't worry, he's one of your greatest admirers.
At PJ's house
Ben and PJ are together at PJ's house. Ben want to resolve any tension between them.
Ben : Well, just as long as there's no problem between us.
PJ : As far as I'm concerned mate, never has been, never will be
Ben : Paranoia
PJ : Yes, the prime attribute of every good ..... copper
Ben : You were going to say detective then weren't ya?
PJ : Look, just cop it sweet. do some time in uniforms and before you know it you'll be dealing with the scum of the earth
Ben : Oh, gee, thanks. Actually, it's not too bad you know. The scenery's pretty good
PJ : Oh yes, yes, yes. some of the local girls have been known to love a copper, yes.
Ben : Actually PJ, I was thinking a little closer to home
PJ : Ah, well you see Ben, the Boss, he's got a bit of a downer on relationships inside the office. You've only got to look at a member sideways and you're easily transferred
Ben : PJ, just get over yourself will you? You're not their big brother
PJ : No, I'm not Ben. Tom Croydon thinks that he's their father
Ben : Ah
PJ : Ah
