Caught in an Energon explosion while battling Rampage, Grimlock's spark
and structure mutated due to radiation given off by the Energon and Rampage's
ProtoformX spark. Now, Grimlock possesses attributes similar to that of
Rampage: the ability to regenerate when damaged, increased speed, strength,
intelligence and reflexes, and most importantly, an immortal Spark. Grimlock's
role in the Beast Wars has been tremendous, plotting victory after victory
in the Maximal's struggle against the Predacons. Grimlock was fearless
before, but with his regeneration power, he keeps pushing the limits, always
willing to draw enemy fire and get into the heat of action head first,
relishing in the thrill of cross fire and melee combat. In beast mode,
his enhanced velociraptor form can achieve speeds of 100km/h after sprinting
for 3 seconds. His sickle shaped talons rip through metal plating as if
it were air while his teeth saw away Predacons who think they have a limb
or two to spare. In robot mode, Grimlock wields more firepower than even
Optimal Optimus, packing a shoulder mounted anti-matter blaster that can
fire plasma and photon projectiles as well and a pulse laser rifle that
delivers up to 75 modulated pulses of concentrated light energy at a target
every second, able to compete with one of Rhinox's chain guns for the first
place as the highest number of projectiles fired per second. In a melee
situation, Grimlock is armed with his talons along with a nasty surprise:
a scythe which has a blade of pure Energon triggered by a flick of a switch.
Grimlock's weapons may come at a high cost of Energon, but his Spark produces
immense amounts of energy which he uses through Spark crystals located
in each weapon, ensuring no chance of power failure during battle. A fanatic
to the Maximal cause, Grimlock will stop at nothing to ensure the survival
of his Maximal brethren and the destruction to those who threaten them.
