The First Wedding

Tad and Dixie’s wedding vows

Tad: I’m no prize, but I love you. I don’t know how I ever got so lucky, but I know that I will guard you and care for you and keep you safe always. Because without you, I have nothing.

Dixie: I love you, Tad. And I thank the Dear Lord for bringing you to me. And I will never take advantage of that gift, because you are my life.

The best man’s toast: Nico Kelly

Nico: To Mr. and Mrs. Thaddeus Martin. Two better people I never knew. You want friends? They’re friends. The best. And that’s what I’m wishing them. The best of everything. A life full of happiness—losts of laughs, lots of fun—and a marriage that’s as perfect as Cecily’s and mine. To the Martins! Long may they live and love in bliss!!

Words of love from their honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico

Tad: If we live to be a hundred, it’s not gonna be enough time to spend with you.

Dixie: You promised me something once. You promised me you’d make my dreams come true, and you have. I love you.

Tad: The only thing I’m sure of is you. Without a doubt, you are the most beautiful, astounding, passionate, funny, wonderful woman I have ever known in my entire life. And how I was ever lucky enough to get you back, I have no idea. But I do know that I love you, Dixie. I always have, I always will…for the rest of my life.
