Tad and Dixie’s second marriage

May 13th, 1994, in the gazebo at Courtland Manor.

Reverend Waters: (prompting Tad) In the name of God . . .

Tad: In the name of God, I Thaddeus, take you Dixie . . .

RW: To have and to hold . . .

T: To have and to hold.

RW: For better . . .

T: For better or for worse, through good times and bad times, come rain or come shine.

RW: For richer . . .

T: For richer for poorer.

RW: Until we are parted by death. . .

T: Until we are parted by death.

RW: (prompting Dixie) In the name of God . . .

D: In the name of God, I Dixie, take thee Thaddeus . . .

RW: To have and to hold . . .

D: To have and to hold to . . .

RW: For better . . .

D: For better for worse, for richer for poorer, (laughs) I should know this by now, (laughs again) in sickness and in health, . . .

RW: Until . . .

D: Until death do us part. . . .Genuine and certified. (laughs) Barring that, I think I'll just hang on.

RW: Bless, oh Lord, these rings as a sign of the vows which this man and this woman have bound themselves to each other. (prompting Tad) I . . .

T: I Thaddeus, give you Dixie, this ring . . .

RW: As a symbol . . .

T: As a symbol of my vow.

RW: And with all that I have and all that I am . . .

T: And with all that I have and all that I am, I honor you in the name of God.

D: I Dixie, give you this ring as a symbol of my vow.

RW: And with all that I have. . .

D: And with all that I have and with all that I am I honor you in the name of God.

RW: Now that Thaddeus and Dixie have given themselves to each other by solemn vow, by joining of hands, and the giving and receiving of rings, I now pronounce that they are husband and wife. Those that God has joined together (applause from guests) let no man put asunder.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t a man who "put asunder"—it was a woman(who shall remain nameless!!!)
