ESCAPADE 9 Video Show Details
Katharine Scarritt is the mistress of the show. If , after reading this, you still have questions, feel free to contact her at kscarritt@yahoo.com.
Thanks for your interest in contributing videos to the Escapade video show! Well, actually, it's divided into two video shows, in order to reduce the number and severity of cases of fanny fatigue. The traditional blow-out Saturday night video show will be limited this year exclusively to vids that have NEVER BEEN SHOWN in a video show. The show will also be limited to 90 minutes, so if you have 10 new vids, trust us, we won't be able to show them all.
The Friday night show, on the other hand, is now the showcase of relatively new stuff. This is the place for vids that are new since last Escapade, but that have already been shown elsewhere. Again, the show will run only 90 minutes, so we can't promise to show everything.
In an effort to keep both shows shorter, we'll determine, based on a complex mathematical formula passed down to us from our fannish foremothers, how many vids from each tape can be shown. (An equal number from each tape will be shown, where possible.) In order to do this as fairly as we can, we ask that each person (or collaborative unit) submit their vids separately. For example, Suzie has 2 vids that she did on her own, and three that she worked with Karen on. Suzie can submit her tape, and Suzie & Karen can submit another tape. (Confused yet? <G>).
We may-- repeat may--open up late-night Saturday for viewing vids that we didn't have time to show earlier. Stay tuned for details.
For both shows, please follow these guidelines:
1. Vids for Friday & Saturday night must be entered on separate tapes.
2. Do NOT bring us your master tape (we don't want the responsibility)
3. Since you're not bringing us your master, please submit a standard VHS tape (no S-VHS or Beta players this year, sorry)
4. Please test the quality of your copy before you leave home (sound ok, etc.)
5. Put your vids on the tape in the order you'd like them seen (that is, if you have 10 vids, put your three favorite first, as we can't promise to get to all of them, and we WILL show them in the order they're on the tape).
6. On-tape credits are appreciated, but not required.
7. However, each tape must:
- Be clearly labeled with the vidder's or collaborators' names
- Have a vid list including:
- Song name
- Artist
- Fandom
- Run time
- Ten seconds of black screen between each vid
- The write-protect tab broken out
8. Let us know if you do NOT want feedback from the attendees (that is, if you want to be omitted from the feedback form).
9. Let us know if you want your vids included on the Escapade
compilation tape
(Note: we are NOT asking to be the exclusive distributor of your
vids.)
We think that this new format will allow for the most possible
enjoyment for the greatest number of fans, and we thank you very,
very much for your contribution- we can't wait to see what you've
got!
