Jack -- If Peter found out it would ruin any chance that I have of getting back together with Jennifer. That's never gonna happen. We are completely safe. The affair is completely over and buried in the past.
Suddenly Peter's voice rings out, "What affair, Jack?"
Jack and Laura turn around in a state of panic.
Meanwhile, Jennifer is still in the cave. Her mind wanders. She hears something and looks up and sees Jack. She calls out to him. "Jack, is that you?" Jack replies, "Thank God I've found you." He runs to help her up and they embrace. Jen knew Jack would save her. He tells her that he will never let her go. Unfortunately her mind is playing tricks on her. However, she does see a light and calls for Jack. Only it is not Jack. It's the Lady in White and she raises her left hand over her head. The hand is hiding a large rock and she is ready to strike.
The Lady is White hesitates as Jennifer begs "Jack" to save her and take her home to Abby. Jen shields her eyes from the light.
Jennifer -- Jack is that you. Please don't let me die here without my baby. My sweet baby. Jack please don't take me away from my baby.
The Lady retreats.
Jennifer -- Jack, where'd you go. Please don't leave me again. Take me home to my baby.
Back at the graveyard, Jack pushes Laura away as Peter comes into view. Peter asks who Jack was talking to and Jack quickly covers.
Jack -- Myself. Yeah. This whole Aremid affair.
Peter is skeptical and thinks he was talking to Sarah. The two men argue once again as Jack brings up Peter's shady past. Peter threatens Jack but Jack is not intimidated.
Peter -- We don't need your help. You'll just screw things up as usual. Why don't you just run home.
Jack -- Why don't you just GO TO HELL!
Mike interrupts and reminds the men that Jennifer is the priority. Everyone calms down and Peter is left alone and finds a woman's handkerchief. He thinks Jack is hiding something. Laura and Sarah want to help in the search for Jen but Jack convinces them to stay at the house and wait in case Jen calls. Peter confronts Sarah about the handkerchief. Sarah's never seen it before and this makes Peter all the more interested.
Jennifer is alone in the cave. She is cold and wet and is suffering from delusions. She remembers a time when Abby was just a baby. She and Jack are expressing their love to each other. She says that they will have a wonderful life because of their love and Jack tells her that he will always love her. Jennifer is desperate to get out of the cave.
Jennifer -- I've got to get out of here. Oh my head. I have to get home. Home to my baby and my husband. It's so cold in here. Come on, Jack. Come and find me.
Peter, Mike and Jack try to pick up Jennifer's trial when it starts to rain. Thunder clasps and lightning brightens the evening Aremid sky. Peter can't believe it.
Jack -- Well the weather isn't ideal but it doesn't mean that we have to stop looking.
Peter -- We could look all night if we wanted to but if the rain washes out the trail we lose all hope of finding Jennifer.
Water is slowly pouring into the cave. The Lady in White returns with a doll and her crying alerts Jen to her presence.
Jennifer -- Who's there. Who are you. Why are you crying? Wait. I got to get out of here.
The Lady once again retreats and leaves Jen alone in the cave. Jennifer tries to follow her, but she grabs her head and falls back to the ground. She has passed out just as a stream of water pours onto the cave floor around her.
Jack, Peter and Mike are soaking wet in the emerging storm. Mike and Peter want to return to the house.
Jack -- You guys can run for cover, but as long as Jennifer is out here I'm going to stay and look for her.
Peter -- Damn you Jack. This has nothing to do about your devotion to Jennifer. The rain has washed away any trail.
Peter and Mike try to convince Jack that they need more man power and police assistance. Jack has no choice but to agree. They head back for the house.
Jack -- I just want Jennifer found. Please God, just keep her safe and take care of her until we can find her.
Back in the cave, the water level is rising and Jennifer remains delusional. She is remembering another time she was in a cave with Jack. During that terrible snowstorm. Jen was also delusional then. She said she wanted Jack so much. "Don't you want to make love to me," she asked. "Jennifer, more than anything in the world, but do you really mean it. Do you really want me?" he replies. They say I love yous to eachother. And then Jennifer seems to snap out of it. As the water is slowly surrounding her she calls out.
Jennifer -- Help me Jack, please. Help me. Somebody.
Jack, Mike and Peter in the meantime have returned to the Blake house. Laura is disappointed to see that Jen is not with them. There is a silence that falls over the room until Laura speaks.
Laura -- How are you doing?
Jack -- I'm scared Laura.
Laura is scared too but she is optimistic that once the day breaks they will find her.
Jack -- You're right. We'll have a much better shot at it in the morning when the rain stops. I just hope that Jennifer can hold on.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like Jennifer can hold on. She is now lying in a pool of water and her face is only inches above the water. If someone doesn't help her soon . . .
As the light of dawn breaks, Jack, Peter and Mike are out in the woods once again searching for Jennifer. Jack wants to check at the beach.
Jack -- I've got a gut feeling about this.
Peter disagrees and wants to head in another direction. Mike agrees and asks Jack to head north. Jack as usual lets his instincts lead him. He continues on his path.
Peter -- What's he doing?
Jack runs ahead as he finds Jennifer lying on a rocky embankment. He immediately raises her torso and wraps his arms around her. He brushes the dirt from her hair. And he gently caresses her face. Mike rushes to Jennifer's side. Peter freezes in shock.
Peter -- Is she alive?
No one responds as Jack simply cradles the lifeless body of the woman he loves.
