Episode Summary | transcribed by Mystic |
John had been arrested for Tony's murder and Jack believed
that it was Jude who actually murdered Tony. He found this matchbook
at a place Jude was hiding out. In this matchbook, account numbers
were written there. Jack found out that the account numbers belonged
to a bank at the Cayman Islands. So he decided to fly over there and check
it out on one of the computers. Jennifer decided to go with him, but didn't
tell Peter that she was going away with Jack. She told him she was going
somewhere else.
[Jack and Jennifer walk into the Citizen's Bank of Grand Cayman. Jenn's
wearing a casual, long, black sleeveless dress. Jack's wearing a suit
- light blue shirt and
tie and a beige jacket and pants]
Jenn - Well, do you have a plan Jack?
Jack - No, not exactly.
Jenn - (looks impatient) Well, we better come up with one. I mean, we
can't just walk in here with
an account number and expect them to give us confidential information.
Jack - (slightly annoyed) Yeah, I know that. I'm thinking!
[Jack walks past Jenn and looks around until his eyes rest on a sign
that says Teller Training
Session Starts Today. Jack starts to smile]
------------------------------
[Jack taps Jenn's arm to get her to look at the sign. She does and then looks at Jack]
Jenn - Jack, if you're thinking what I think you're thinking...
Jack - Jenn, listen. Do you want to prove that John didn't murder Tony?
Jenn - (quickly) Of course I do! I mean, why do you think I flew all the way down here with you?
Jack - All right. We have a matchbook, okay? In this book is an account
number that somebody
gave to Jude. We have to match the name and the account. The perfect
opportunity, Jenn, we have
to take it.
Jenn - (sighs) Okay. I just hope it works.
Jack - Yeah. For John's sake, it better work.
---------------------------------------
Jack is standing behind a guy who is talking to an employee behind a
desk. Jenn is standing
somewhere else, waiting for Jack. Jack listens in on the conversation
between this guy and the
employee, getting the facts he needs to find out how to become a bank
trainee. Apparently, all you
need is this special card with your name on it. The cards are laying
on the desk. The guy complains
that they mispelled his name, so he and the employee leave to fix it,
leaving Jack there by himself.
He takes one of the cards from the desk and writes his name on it.
Then he triumphantly walks over to Jenn with his card.
Jack - (to Jenn quietly) Got it. (he walks past her and goes over to
the manager, I guess. Jenn
follows him) Got my pass here Mr. ....... (looks at the card) ...Billingsly.
Mr. B - (looks at Jenn) Where's yours?
Jenn - Mine?
Mr. B - You both need a pass.
Jack - No, no we don't. (he puts his arm around Jenn) We're married. (Jennifer looks at him)
Mr. B - (impatient) You both need separate I.D.'s. (sighs) I'll have to write you one. (takes a card out, and says to Jenn) Mrs. ........... ?
Jack - (answers for her) Deveraux! Deveraux. Jennifer Deveraux. (spells
it) D - E - V - E - R - A -
U - X . French, you know.
Mr. B - (writes her name on the card) If you plan to have a career as
a bank teller, you'll have to
learn to pay more attention to details.
Jack - Oh, yes sir. Yes sir. (takes Jenn's card from him) Before we
leave, we will have learned all
the details.
Mr. B - Good! Class will begin momentarily. Wait here. (he leaves)
Jack - Okay.
Jenn - Thank you.
Jack - Thank you. (he starts to pin the card onto Jenn's drss. As you
know, to do this he had to kind of lift up the top of her dress to pin
it on. You know? He starts to do this, but Jenn notices
what he's doing and grabs the card away from him saying she could do
it herself. LOL! It was funny)
---------------------------------
The next scene has Jack and Jenn and the other bank trainees listening
to Mr. Billingsly talk. Jack is
getting extremely impatient because he wants to get onto the computers
to try and find out the
information. Later, the bank trainees are supposed to practice answering
the telephones. Jack and
Jenn go over to their assigned phone. Jenn wants to leave, saying it's
a waste of time. Jack says not
until they get onto the computer. The phone rings and Jack tells Jenn
to answer it. She does and it's
Jude St. Claire on the other end. She covers the mouthpiece of the
phone and tells Jack. He tells
her to go and see if the bank has Caller I.D. so they could trace the
call. Jenn leaves and Jack
continues to talk to Jude.
Jack - Sorry for the delay, sir. The operator had to take another call. May I help you?
Jude - Yes. I need to get some money from my account.
Jack - Of course you do. What's your account number, sir?
Jude - I don't have it. It's in my safety deposit box and the bank is
closed. I do remember the first
four digits though. They're 9 5 2 7.
[Jack takes out the matchbook with the account number and sees that it's a match]
Jack - Sir, if you could give me your phone number and your name, I'll call you right back.
Jude - (getting suspicious) Why do you need my name and phone number?
Jack - Well, since I don't have your full account number, I'm going
to have to track your account
with your name, and that's gonna take five or ten minutes.
Jude - Five or ten minutes?
Jack - Yes. I can assure you, sir, I'm going to do everything I can
to get back to you as quickly as
possible.
[Jude takes the phone off his ear and thinks about it. Jack looks worried that Jude might hang up]
-----------------------------------
[Jenn comes back and tells Jack the bank doesn't have Caller I.D. Jack
tries to get Jude's name and
phone number again. Jude panics and hangs up the phone]
Jack - Hello?..... Hello? (frustrated, he hangs up)
Jenn - What happened?
Jack - He hung up. He wouldn't give out his name.
Jenn - How does he expect to withdraw any money?
Jack - I don't know, especially after he only gives me four digits from the account number.
Jenn - It sounds like he's never withdrawn money from his account.
Jack - No, I don't think he has. This account belongs to someone else.
(Yeah, Peter) Most likely his
boss.
Jenn - Well, we don't know where he is but at least we know he's alive.
Jack says he'll try and find another way to trace the call. He leaves
Jenn. When he comes back, he
tells her that they can't trace the call. Then he tells Jennifer about
the judge sentencing Jack to the
gas chamber. Then he goes on to say that they must get on the computers
before it's too late.
Jack - We have to find the information about that account.
Jenn - Mr. Billingsly said we couldn't even go on the computers for days
Jack - All right, you're right. We don't have days. But listen to this.
I met someone over there who
works on the computers. (pauses) She likes me. (smiles at Jenn)
If I play my cards right,
she can give me the information I need to access the account from the
matchbook. Jenn, it's our
only shot. If we find out who's helping Jude, we can find out who ordered
Tony's murder.
Jenn - (pauses) (by the way, she didn't look too happy when Jack told
her that some woman liked
him) We don't have any other leads. No other way to help John. (she
sighs)
Jack - Just stay here and cover for me while I'm gone. If Mr. Billingsly
comes around, ask him any
questions, all right?
Jenn - Okay...... Good luck.
Jack - (smiles) Thanks. (he leaves Jenn and starts to look for that woman)
----------------------------
[Jack is with Shawna, the computer girl who likes him, now.]
Jack - (already in a conversation with her) So once I found out what
I wanted to do, I just realized I
wanted to be a banker. And of course, I had a lot of time to make up
but... you know what I mean.
Shawna - Well, you seem like a really intelligent man.
Jack - (smiles) Well thanks! You must be smart as a whip yourself. I
mean, this computer stuff is a
grand mystery to me.
Shawna - (smiles) It's simple really once you get the hang of it.
Jack - (nods) Maybe you could teach me some of the basics.
Shawna - (very willing to help) Sure! (she sits down) Come sit down next to me.
Jack - (smiles) Sure. (starts to sit down when Mr. Billingsly stops him)
Mr. B - (angrily) Why aren't you with the other trainees?
Jack - Oh, Mr. Billingsly. I was on a break. I just wanted to learn a little bit on the computers.
Mr. B - You'll learn that at the end of the course! If you're trying
to get ahead of the others, this is
not the way.
Jack - No, no, no! I'm sorry. It will not happen again. I can assure
you that. I'm just so excited
about learning everything here!
Mr. B - Well, you'll just have to curve your excitement. Training is over for today.
Jack - If there's anything else I can do... If you need any help around here, I can stay!
Mr. B - The bank is closing. (walks away)
Jack - (to Shawna) Look, um, I hope I didn't get you into any trouble.
Shawna - (smiles) You didn't. Good luck with the training.
Jack - Thanks. (smiles then walks away)
[Jack joins Jenn and the other trainees again.]
Mr. B - Let's see, who doesn't have his key to his room. Mr. Barrett (hands him his key)...
Jack - What room?
Mr. B - Didn't the personnel director tell you about the bank's accomodations for it's trainees?
Jack - Oh, that's okay. We were gonna get our own accomodations.
Mr. B - All teller trainees stay at the same place. (looks at both Jack
and Jenn) Which one would
like the key to your room?
[Jack's mouth falls open literally. Jenn looks shocked]
Jenn - Room?!
Mr. B - We do allow married couples to stay together.
[Jack slowly takes the key, his mouth still hanging open. I think
I caught a glimmer of delight
in his eyes though. Jenn doesn't look too happy]
Mr. B - (to all the trainees) Be here at eight sharp tomorrow. Anyone
who is late will be dropped
from the teller training program.
[Mr. Billingsly and the other trainees all walk out the door]
Jenn - Jack, we can't stay in the same room
Jack - Listen Jenn, this bank is our only shot to helping John.
[Jenn hesitates and looks at Jack silently. A trainee walks back in]
Trainee - You know the bus is leaving soon.
Jack - Thanks! We're on our way. (turns back to Jenn) What do you want
to do. You wanna blow
our cover? Huh? You wanna go back to Aremid?
Jenn - (quickly) No....... We have to do this. For John.
Jack - All right. Now come on. (he takes Jenn's hand and leads her out the door]
