This took place in December 1994. This is the first time Jack
and Jennifer came face-to-face after Jack arrived back in Salem. If you
remember, it happened during Bo and Billie's first wedding on New Year's
Eve. Jack felt that this was the perfect place to first see Jenn again.
He hoped that the wedding would remind her of the vows that they had made
to each other. Well, Alice interruped Bo and Billie's wedding so it was
delayed. Jack was wandering around outside, dressed in his tux. Jennifer
was inside talking to Billie and Kate. Billie left. And then Kate left.
Jenn was turning her head looking around the church, and stopped cold when
she thought she saw Jack. We do see Jack walk inside briefly because he
wants to see what was going on. Then he goes outside again. Jenn
is shocked and whispers to herself, "Oh God, it can't be him." She runs
towards the church door and she sees it slam shut. She stops, and then
goes outside. She then sees that it is indeed Jack and runs up behind him.
He still doesn't see her.
Jenn - Jack Deveraux!
[Jack turns around stunned and sees Jenn. He gives a tiny smile.]
Jenn - What do you think you're doing here?!
[Jack's face turns serious.]
Jack - I've come back for you.
[Jenn looks shocked.]

Jenn - [a bit on the sarcastic side] You came back for me?
Jack - Yes.
Jenn - You have a lot of nerve, you know that?
Jack - Jennifer, just hear me out okay?
Jenn - [interrupts him] No, you listen to me all right, 'cause the last
time I talked to you I told you
that I wanted you out of my life so how dare you come here and show
up like this out of the blue!
Jack - I didn't plan it this way, okay?! You're the one who has to walk
out here looking so
beautiful!!
[Jenn stares at him.]
Jack - I just look at your face and it brings up all these memories.
[Jenn gets ticked off.]
Jenn - Memories?!
Jack - Yes!
Jenn - I have a wonderful memory of you walking out on me and your daughter
so why don't you
get to the point and tell me what you want!
Jack - [not backing down] I love you and I cannot live without you.

[Jack walks past Jennifer and has his back towards her. Jenn walks near him.]
Jenn - [still a little sarcastic] You love me?
Jack - Yes! [he faces her]
Jenn - You don't even have a clue as to what real love is all about.
Jack - No, no. That was the old Jack. The man who's standing in front
of you right now, he knows
what love is.
Jenn - [pauses] Did my mother tell you to come here? Is that what this is all about?
Jack - No, no. I never even met your mother. [ha, ha. Jack, if you only
knew...] But I would like to
thank her for getting me to come back here in the first place. My whole
life has changed since then.
In ways that you would not even imagine is possible.
Jenn - Really? My life has changed too and it's changed for the better
so if you think you can just
come here and pick up where you left off, you are wrong Jack, do you
hear me?!
Jack - No, no, no. That's not what I'm planning, okay? That's not what
I want. Jennifer, I want us to
have a better marriage and a stronger relationship. I can make that
happen now. I got help!
[Jenn turns around, visibly upset.]
Jack - Jennifer, I learned more about myself and my feelings and my
emotions and how to express
them.
[Jack puts his hand on Jenn's arm. It affects her, but then she shrugs it off.]
Jack - Jennifer, I can give you the kind of love that you need. The kind of love that you deserve.
Jenn - [pauses again] What do you expect me to say to you?
[Jack thinks for awhile. Then he gets down on his knees & looks into Jenn's eyes.]
Jack - [his voice is shaking because he's crying now] That you still
love me. And that you'll take me
back and that we'll be a family again. Things will be different, Jenn,
I swear I've changed.
Jenn - [tearfully] ...Jack please. Don't.
Jack - No, Jenn, I know. You don't believe that I can ever change but I have......... I love you so much.
[Jennifer continues to tearfully stare at Jack. It seems like she really wants to give in and take him back. But she doesn't.]
Jenn - [through her tears] I can't do it. I'm sorry. It's too late, Jack.
[and with that, she turns around and runs back into the church. Inside, her hand is over her mouth and she is crying. The scene cuts back to Jack. There is a close-up of his face and he has tears in his eyes. The camera pans further away and we see that he is still on his knees. We continue to see Jack alone and crying.]
