Scene opens with Jennifer just finally realizing the truth about Peter. She is looking at him with a really MAD look on her face. Peter looks so upset and overwhelmed by everything that has just happened...
Peter (has tears in his eyes): "Jennifer.. I never wanted to hurt you. But I caused you incredible pain and I am sorry. I know I have no right to ask this, but I'm asking anyway. Please... just give me a chance to explain it to you... (Jennifer is shaking her head as if to say "No way, Buster!") (Peter is almost whispering and is trying to sound calm) Just listen to me (starting to cry again) I honestly believe that you will see that my actions were taken out of love for you."
Jennifer: (stunned look on her face and tears in her eyes) "Out of your love for me?!"
Peter: "Yes! I loved you so much that I got worried that I would make a mistake and lose you.. I did something stupid.." (Peter tries to put his arms around Jennifer. Jennifer jumps back, trying to push him away)
Jennifer (in a very mad tone. She looks like she's clenching her teeth together) "DON'T EVEN COME NEAR ME! DON'T TOUCH ME AND DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT LOVE... about making mistakes. What you did wasn't a mistake! You deliberately lied to me! (starting to cry) You betrayed my love and my trust. You betrayed me time and time again! AND YOU CAN'T JUSTIFY THAT! No matter how hard you try..."
Peter: "Just give me a chance to explain Jenn.."
Jennifer (interrupts Peter): "NO! I've heard all I want to hear, about you and from you. I'm never going to forgive you, Peter. As long as I live, I will never forgive you. All the promises that you made me -- THEY WERE EMPTY! THEY WERE BASED ON LIES.. (about to cry again) so many lies..." (Peter is watching her and he is looking so sad and defeated. He knows his days with Jennifer are done)
Jack (tries to approach Jennifer to comfort her): "Jenn..."
Jennifer (to Jack, crying and screams): "NO! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!"
Jennifer runs out of the room. Jack is about to go after her to comfort her, but Laura stops him and says "No Jack!"
Peter is shocked and has his hands down on this table, while standing up, as if he's trying to lean on it for support. His head is bent down in complete despair. Jack looks very upset that Jennifer has just run out of the room like that since he desperately wants to go comfort her. Jack is staring at something in the room thinking about Jennifer's pain, not noticing that Peter is looking right at him with this "You're about to pay, Jack!" look on his face.
Peter (takes his hands off the table and begins to walk over to Jack): "This is all your fault. (Jack looks at Peter. Peter continues to talk) You just wouldn't let up until you finally destroyed our marriage. And you finally won, Jack (Jack shakes his head. There are also tears in Jack's eyes too. I guess seeing Jenn that upset really got to Jack. Peter begins to have this fake smile on his face) You won. But you're not going to get a chance to enjoy your victory. BECAUSE I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"
That's when "THE FIGHT" begins. It's quite a vicious fight as all of you probably remember. So, I guess if reading about that kind of stuff bothers any of you, you could skip this paragraph. Anyhow, they are grunting like wild animals through the entire fight. I couldn't believe as I was watching it that they actually did their own stunts. They were really throwing each other around the room -- they must have had bruises the next day, after filming that scene. Anyway, Peter lunges forward after he says that he's going to kill Jack, and he starts to choke Jack. Of course Jack looks terrified and is attempting to get Peter's hands off his neck to save his life. (commercial break) Scene after commercial break continues and Jack and Peter are REALLY fighting as you all probably remember. Laura is in the room watching this fight unfold and screams in a panic "Jack!" They are near a side table and Jack slugs a few good punches towards Peter. But then Peter pushes Jack backward and takes control of the fight. He lunges Jack backward on to the couch. Jack's back is on the couch. Peter is standing above him trying to choke him probably. Laura screams "Stop it!" Laura panics and runs out of the room to call for help. Jack finally is able to push Peter off of him and Jack jumps off the couch. And this is the funniest part -- Jack has his head down and he runs right into Peter's stomach, head first, attempting to tackle Peter to the floor (kind of how a bull charges a bullfighter - LOL!). It works! But only for a second. They both stand up again and now Peter seems to have control of the fight again and slams Jack into the wall. Jack regains control of the fight and slams Peter into the wall and throws a few good punches at Peter. Peter punches back and knocks Jack and himself (Peter) down to the ground yet again. Jack looks like he was trying to get away from Peter and Peter pushes him backward (Jack's head is down) into this table which has a mirror above it near the front door (I forgot what this piece of furniture is called). Jack turns around and runs in front of Peter and throws a couple big punches at Peter which knocks Peter right into the same mirror. Peter responds by throwing a couple big punches at Jack which causes Jack to fall right back into this huge floral display in the middle of the room which causes the flowers to fly. They are both now on the ground and wrestling with each other. Jack is on top of Peter and looks like he has took control of the fight. He now begins to throw some big punches at Peter. But just as he's doing that, the hotel security arrive with Laura in the room. They run to Jack & Peter to stop the fight. One of the security men grabs Jack while he's still trying to throw some huge punches at Peter, who is still lying on the floor, which is kind of ridiculous considering Jack is nowhere near Peter at this time. He's basically punching the air. He looks like a vicious animal. The security guys manage to break them apart. And Peter gets off the floor. The guards are holding back Jack and Peter in an attempt to keep them from fighting yet again. Peter is screaming like an animal to Jack "GET OFF OF ME!" Peter screams at the hotel guy who is holding him back from Jack, "GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!" Jack, also being held by the security guard screams to the guard "THIS IS PRIVATE!"
French security guy who is holding Jack, who is struggling to break free in attempt to charge at Peter yet again, says: "Either stop or we call the police!"
Laura (crying and in a panic): "Please! Do you want to go to jail? Will you guys just stop it!"
Jack (starts to calm down, blood is dripping from his mouth. He is attempting to catch his breath): "Let me go! Just let me go. I'm not going to do anything." (guard lets go of Jack)
Peter also has blood dripping from his mouth. He is trying to catch his breath and is still being held by security guard.
Jack: (almost laughing and looking directly at Peter) "I did enough already!"
Peter gets furious at Jack for saying that, because Jack is obviously saying "I don't have to hurt him. I already did that by ruining his life." Peter attempts to lunge at Jack but then suddenly decides to quit fighting.
Peter (pushing the guard off him): "Alright! Alright! (walks toward Jack, still out of breath, looks him directly in the eyes and says) This isn't over, Jack!" (with that comment, Peter walks out of the room)
Jack shouts back at him while he's leaving "I always knew you'd be a sore loser!"
Peter turns around, and looks like he's about to say something to Jack. But then he walks out of the room. Jack is still trying to catch his breath. He looks awful! He has bruises all over his face and blood is still on his mouth. His clothes are messed up. He stares forward for a few seconds. And then a small smile begins to appear on his face as he realizes that he just finally succeeded in destroying Peter and Jennifer's marriage. (scene ends)
Next scene for this storyline has Peter visiting Kristen telling her about his whole life falling apart because of Jack. I'm not going to write about it because I thought you guys are probably more interested in what Jack had to say to Laura.
Next scene opens with Laura walking towards the door with the guards. Jack is leaning over a table with a kleenex in his hand, attempting to wipe the blood off his mouth.
Guard to Laura: "Are you sure you're okay to be alone with this man?" (LOL! Yeah, we all know Laura's definitely "okay" with being alone with "this man", based on those lovely scenes that Mystic described for us previously)
Laura looks at Jack and kind of laughs: "Ah, yes, yes I'll be fine. Thank you both for your help." The guards leave. Laura walks towards Jack. She turns him around and puts her hand on his face so that she can check his cuts and bruises. Jack is still catching his breath but has this huge smile on his face. Yes, he looks awful from that fight but he has the biggest smile on his face. It's rather funny and pathetic, if I do say so myself.
Laura (disgusted): "Look at you! You're a mess! I'm going up to my room to get my medical bag"
Jack (starts to laugh and puts his hand on Laura's arm attempting to stop her from leaving. He is still smiling A LOT! He is also still trying to catch his breath and is talking in a very happy tone of voice): "No, Laura, don't go. I'm fine. As a matter of fact I've never felt better. (starts to have this very excited tone to his voice) After all this time and struggle and hassle, I finally did it! I got him. I exposed Peter Blake for the crook that he is. (Pointing to Laura, who looks shocked and disgusted by how Jack is talking) This is a reason to celebrate!" (Jack walks over to a champagne bottle which is still being chilled. He grabs the bottle of champagne).
Laura walks over and asks: "What are you doing?"
Jack (sounding very triumphant. He is looking at the bottle, admiring it): "I'm gonna toast the occassion with some of Peter's very own champagne. It's fitting." (Laura has her back to Jack. She looks so upset. Jack, with a BIG smile on his face, triumphantly raises the bottle of champagne with his one hand, looks to the ceiling and says "To the end of Peter Blake. And to the beginning of a new life for Jack Deveraux!"
Jack looks at Laura and notices she is extremely upset. The expression on his face starts to turn quite serious and he starts to look very sad. He says "Wait... ah, I can't do this."
Laura (still with her back to him says sarcastically): "Why not? I thought you were so delighted with exposing Peter."
Jack (He seems embarassed with his behaviour and is looking at the ground instead of Laura): "Well, yeah, I mean he had it coming to him. (starting to sound quite upset and ready to cry) But I guess all this excitement about my triumph has just made me overlook the fact that Jennifer might have been affected by all of this."
Laura turns around towards Jack with tears in her eyes. She has this look on her face like she's about to scold him. She is looking directly at him: "You saw how it affected her! Maybe you should have thought about that beforehand. She was devastated. That's why she ran out of here!"
Jack nods his head in agreement and looks disgusted with himself. He is very sad now. He is still unable to look Laura directly in the eye. He is starting to get tears in his eyes. "You're right. I can't celebrate. Jenn's out there in..... in shock and pain somewhere. Where could she be?" This thought really upsets Jack and he starts to cry.
Scene with Jack & Laura ends. Next scene is Jennifer in the park. Nothing important happens right now. She just talks endlessly about how she couldn't believe how blind she was to Peter's lies. And how she loved him and she just can't understand how he could lie to her through their entire marriage. She has flashbacks to their love scenes, etc. Stefano is watching her in the background as she goes on endlessly about all her pain.
Next scene shows Kristen yelling and crying at Peter. She is desperately trying to tell him not to give up on Jennifer. She says "I'm gonna fight to hold on to John! And I want you to fight too! Don't you let her go!" (Gee, thank you Kristen, once again, for helping out Jack & Jennifer like that - LOL!)
Next scene shows Jack & Laura again.
Jack is pacing the room. He says "I don't regret going after Peter. But I never wanted Jennifer to be hurt."
Laura (is not crying anymore): "Neither did I. I mean, that's why I didn't tell her that I knew Peter was lying about his connection to Jude. He swore to me that that was the only secret that he was keeping from her."
Jack (walking towards Laura): "Laura... Peter lied to you. He's got a lot of dark secrets. Daniel's statement proved that."
Laura (crying): "I didn't know that then. Now, I wish I had told her. And you... (Laura starts to feel sorry for Jack. She gives him the "look" -- uh oh! LOL! Hope Laura's not thinking of "comforting" Jack again - LOL! She continues...) I could have spared her some pain."
Jack: "Laura, you had your professional reasons. Besides your motivation, it's always been the same as mine -- concern for Jennifer and Abby, right?"
Laura (looks disgusted): "Oh come on, Jack! Why don't you be honest? That wasn't your only motivation!"
Jack: "No. No. It wasn't. But I've always admitted that I love Jennifer and that I want her back. Now that she knows the truth about Peter, I can start going after just that. Right now!" (Jack starts to walk towards door)
Laura (shocked look on her face): "Where are you going?"
Jack: "I'm going to find Jennifer."
Laura: "No! It would be a major mistake for you to go after her now."
Jack (confused look on his face): "Why?!"
Laura (still looking at Jack as if to say "Don't you get it?!"): "You just helped to destroy her marriage. (crying and screaming) And regardless of what you think of him, she's still in love with Peter."
Jack (looks very upset at Laura's comment. He's crying): "No! She's in love with the man she thought Peter was, NOT the man that he really is."
Laura (really crying): "It doesn't matter! DON'T YOU SEE THAT?! (short pause) This is no time for you, to go to her, and tell her YOUR feelings. She'll turn away from you for good."
Jack (looking at Laura with a very sad and defeated look on his face, tears in his eyes, says in a quiet voice): "That's the last thing I want.. But we were meant to be together, Laura."
Laura (not looking at Jack, and looks very upset -- maybe she's thinking about the fact that she still loves Jack): "I understand and.... I'm ..not ... trying to destroy your dreams. It's just, I know a little something about shattered dreams. I wanna caution you. No matter what your heart wants. It doesn't matter unless Jennifer's heart wants it also."
Camera shows Jack with tears in his eyes. He is swallowing to hold back the even more tears that are about to flow from his eyes...
Next scene shows Jennifer still sitting in the park, crying about her pain. She begins by saying "Peter, I loved you so much. And I trusted you..... was I wrong?! Could I have really been that blind? Jack kept trying to tell me you were no good. And there were times that I had doubts. But I never wanted to believe anything bad about you. And you kept telling me Jack was lying. But he wasn't. It was you that was lying. Every day and every night we were together. (begins to really cry) Peter, why did you do this? Why did you hurt me like this?" Stefano is standing behind the bushes, watching Jennifer crying and eavedropping on her conversation with herself.
Next scene is with Jack & Laura...
Jack: "You're right, Laura. I can't tell Jennifer that I love her until I know that she's ready to love me again."
Laura: "Do you have any reason to think that she might?"
Jack (walking away from Laura. Now his back turned towards her): "Well, no. Well, maybe. She hasn't.. she hasn't really said anything... not in words anyway. (Jack turns towards Laura, with a small smile on his face) But I've noticed.. her glancing at me sometimes. Like when we were in the Carribean. Especially when we're with Abby. And it's usually times when we're just laughing and having fun together, I just noticed in her eyes this umm.. this light.... this little spark. It's just the way she used to look at me a long time ago when we were together. (He is starting to get teary-eyed again, trying to hold back his tears. He lifts his arms up as if to say "What can I do? That's the past!" He starts to walk away to another part of room) We shared a great love once. I can only pray that she will let me love her like that again."
Scene ends. Next scene is with Jennifer, still crying in the park saying "Why did you lie to me Peter? Why?" She has a flashback of her talking to Peter after they have made love, where Peter is saying to her "I hope you'll never leave me, if anything changes" And she's like "No, Peter. Never. I love you. You're the most loving and honest man I know" And then they kiss passionately and are about to make love (Hmmm.. they had so many love scenes with each other while Mark's Jack & Stephanie's/Missy's Jenn got NOTHING! Do I sound a little mad right now? LOL!)
Later, Jennifer is approached by an older, friendly Frenchman who is trying to comfort her because he sees she's been crying. He gives her a suggestion:
Frenchman: "Cheri, will you take an advice from an old man?"
Jennifer: "Advice? Yeah, go ahead! Sure!"
Frenchman: "Is there someone in your life whom you trust, huh?"
Jennifer: "There's a few people, family and friends."
Frenchman: "Yeah. But, I mean, is there someone with whom you have shared experiences as with nobody else? (Jennifer looks at him with a semi-surprised look on her face because she's obviously thinking of Jack) Someone who will love you unconditionally, huh? Think! Who's the first person who leaps into your mind. It may surprise you!" (he looks at her.)
Jennifer (she looks back at him with a stunned look on her face, because she can't believe that Jack is the first person that has thought of, who fits this description): "You're right! The person that came to mind did surprise me. And we need to talk. Thank you for your advice."
Frenchman: "My pleasure, cheri."
Jennifer gives the man a small peck on the cheek and quickly leaves.
Next scene is with Jack & Laura:
Laura: "Jack, please, let Jennifer come to you first. (pause) Look, just keep in mind that even if it's over for her, it doesn't necessarily mean that she'll turn to you." (Jack has his back turned to Laura and is visibly upset about that)
Jack (turns around and faces Laura): "Yeah, well if that... no, no WHEN that happens, it'll only mean one thing. That in spite of all the hurt and confusion, that Jennifer still loves me deeply and always has. Now that she knows the truth about Peter, there's nothing to stop me from getting her back."
Laura (puts her hand on his shoulder to comfort him): "Jack, don't get your hopes up." (She strokes his hair -- Umm.. is she trying to put the moves on him NOW? LOL!)
Jack: "Laura, it's.... that's all I have are hopes. And when Jennifer walks through that door, it's going to be a new beginning for us."
Jennifer opens door while Jack & Laura are talking with their backs to the door:
Jack continues: "I've got rid of the one thing standing in our way. Peter Blake. Now there's nothing stopping us from being together again." (Jack is smiling. The camera moves to show Jennifer standing at the side, listening to Jack sounding so confident that he'll get her back. She looks very serious.) Scene ends.
Scene returns again and Laura is standing there stroking Jack's head.
Jack: "Jenn will come to me in time, Laura. I'll just make her forget about Peter and we can just start a new life of our own" (starting to smile and staring off into space obviously dreaming about having a future with Jennifer)
Laura walks in front of him and has her hand on his shoulder and is giving him the "look" (you know, the same one she probably gave him at the Meadows ;-) -- not that he's even noticing because he's off in dreamland thinking about a future with Jennifer. But then Laura leans over and notices that Jennifer has been standing there the entire time listening to Jack's confident speech about getting her back. Bad move, Jack! Jennifer has her arms folded and she looks visibly angry. Jack, noticing Laura looking at another person, quickly turns around to see who it is. Instead of seeming worried that Jennifer might have heard him talk as if he already "won" her back, Jack is very happy and walks towards her. He smiles!
Jack: "Jenn! You're back!"
Jennifer (serious tone): "Yes, Jack. I'm back! I realized I needed to talk to someone. And... that someone is you."
Jack nods, takes a deep breath, and doesn't say anything because that's the last scene on the show for the storyline. He looks like he's very interested in what Jenn is about to say.
