This takes place in January 1995. Remember that Peter had met
Jack at the bar at the Green Mountain Ski Lodge. The only thing is
that Peter didn't know it was Jack. Jack introduced himself to Peter
as 'J.D.' So in this episode, the previous night was the night of
Bo and Billie's New Year's Eve wedding that didn't happen. Peter
decides to throw a party at Jennifer's house for Bo and Billie, just to
keep their hopes up. Peter runs into J.D. (Jack) earlier and invites
him to come to the party, and Jack accepts.
[Inside Jenn's house, Peter, Jenn, Abby, Laura and Tony are there. Laura leaves to go on her date with Dr. Hunt (by the way, during her date all Laura could talk about was Clark). Jenn takes Abby upstairs to put her to bed]
[Jack arrives and is standing outside the front door]
Jack - (to himself) Well, here it goes...
[He knocks the door and Peter answers it]
Jack - (smiles) How you doin'?
Peter - (smiles back) Hey! You made it! Come on in!
[Jack steps inside]
Peter - I want you to meet someone, Tony. This is a friend of mine. J.D., this is my brother Tony.
Tony - How do you do?
Jack - (shakes Tony's hand) Nice to meet you, Tony. How are you?
Peter - Jennifer's upstairs putting her daughter to bed. I can't wait 'till you meet her. You're gonna understand why I'm the luckiest man in the world. You've never met anyone like this. She is gonna knock you out.
Jack - (smiles) I don't doubt that.

A little later on, Peter even tries to play matchmaker. When "Gina"
arrives, he says to her, "I have someone I want you to meet." Other guests
who have arrived: Bo, Billie, John and Kristen. Peter looks
around for J.D. because he wants to introduce him to everybody. He
goes into the kitchen to look for him. Then Jenn walks downstairs and says
hi to everyone. After awhile, Peter walks out with Jack. John's the first
one to see Jack and looks surprised to see him. Peter sees Jenn.
Peter - Oh, there you are! Jennifer, there's someone I want you to meet. This is my friend J.D.
[Jennifer looks completely shocked when she sees Jack. Everyone in the room is surprised too, and they all just stare at Jack.]
Jack - Hello Jennifer.
[Jenn is still in shock and glares at Jack. Peter looks at everyone and is wondering what the problem is]
Peter - What's wrong?
Jenn - (finally) Apparently, your friend hasn't properly introduced himself to you. (pauses) Peter Blake, meet Jack Deveraux.
[Now Peter looks shocked and quickly looks at Jack. Jack looks back at him and smiles.]

[Jenn walks up to Jack and Peter, still glaring at Jack. Jack looks at Jenn and sighs. Peter starts sarcastically laughing]
Peter - J.D...... Jack Deveraux. That's cute. That's very, very cute. It all makes sense now.
Jack - (ignores him) Look Jennifer, if you would just listen to me okay? I apologize for this deceit. But I made a vow that I was gonna win you back, and this is the only thing that I could come up with. So if you would just talk to me, you could see how much I've changed.
Jenn - (in a rage) Didn't I make myself clear to you last night? Didn't I tell you that I never wanted to see you again?
Jack - Come on Jenn, if we could just talk quietly someplace...
Jenn - If you have this incredible urge to talk to someone, call my
lawyer. All right? And if you wanna see Abby, you call your lawyer because
the only relationship we are gonna have is through our
attorneys. Can I make it any clearer than that for you?!!
[Jack looks defeated and finally walks past Jenn and starts heading for the door. Peter follows him]

[Jack and Peter are now outside. And they're not friends anymore!]
Peter - I think it would be best if you stayed away from --
Jack - (interrupts him) Look Peter, I appreciate your concern. Okay? But don't push it.
Peter - She doesn't want anything to do with you Jack.
Jack - No, no, no. Jennifer is my wife, and Abigail is my daughter.
Peter - Jennifer is your ex-wife. You do know what 'ex' means, don't you?
Jack - Yes, I do. And nobody is gonna stop me from getting back together with my my family.
Peter - I got news for you Jack. They don't want you. Now you walked out on them, and there's no way I'm gonna let you waltz back in.
Jack - Well, there's nothing you could do about it.
Peter - (pauses) Look, you do yourself a favor. You leave and you don't ever come back. You have no idea what you're up against here.
Jack - (not backing down, moves closer to Peter) Oh yeah? What's that? A porsche? A cellular phone? Or a very ungracious host?
[Jack and Peter are standing so close, just glaring at each other. By the way, it's a great shot of Jack's blue eyes. Jennifer walks out]
Jenn - Jack! Jack, I want you to leave.
Peter - (steps away) Have a good day.
[Jack doesn't budge]
Jenn - GO Jack!!
[Jack, not in any hurry, slowly walks away]

A little later, Jack has this idea to get Mickey to help him. Mickey
is inside the party now. Jack, who's still right outside the house, takes
out his cellular phone and calls Mickey on his cellular phone. It's kind
of funny since they're basically so near each other. Jack gets Mickey
to come outside. When he does, Jack asks Mickey if he can represent him...........
Mickey - Jack, I can't represent you!
Jack - (laughs, can't believe it) Why not?!
Mickey - Well for openers, because I'm Jennifer's uncle!
Jack - Oh, come on. We both have the same interests. We want to keep Jennifer happy.
Mickey - She is happy, with Peter.
Jack - Oh, he is a consolation prize at best. She will never be as happy with Peter as she is with me. (pauses) Okay, so I've made some mistakes...
Mickey - I'll say you have!
Jack - I never should've left Jennifer and Abby. I was a lunatic to do that. They're my family. I love them very much. Every day without them has been living hell.
Mickey - (gets mad) What do you think her life has been like ever since you deserted her?!! Never even called, never wrote a letter, never even a postcard!!!
Jack - Look, I'm a changed man! I just need a chance to show her that.
Mickey - Jack, you love her?
Jack - (laughs) More than anything!
Mickey - Then walk away. Let her start her life over again. You start yours!
Jack - No, no. She is my whole life, Mickey, and I cannot live without her. (pauses) I swear, I'll never hurt her again.
Mickey - You've already done that, Jack, just by coming back.
Jack - (pauses) So you're not gonna help.
Mickey - NO. (and with that, he walks back into the house)
Jack - (to himself) I'll just have to find another way to get access to Jennifer.
