Genealogy: Deemer, Geist, Brosius, Gray, Lang, Zetler

Ancestors:

Parents -- Margaret M. Deemer (1931- ) and Robert Gray Page (1927-1976)

Maternal Grandparents -- Edith Belle Geist (1897- 1981) and Roy L. Deemer (1888 - 1942)

Paternal Grandparents -- Irene Elizabeth Gray and Jay E. Page

Edith was the daughter of Harry Geist and Carrie Brosius; Roy was the son of Hiram Deemer and Mary Zetler.

Our ancestors settled in western PA and were primarily farmers.  The Geists had farmland in Ringgold Township while the Deemers lived in the Emerickville area.  There is still a place there called Deemers Corners.  Roy worked in a lumber mill that had been started years before by one of his relatives. Roy died in a tragic fire at the homestead in Brookville PA.

Twins! Twins!

My mother, Margaret was a twin (Marie), AND my grandmother, Edith was a twin (Ethel). Check this: they were all born on Halloween!
My wife, Cindy is a twin (Candy), and my aunt Marie married a twin (Gerald and Harold).
No, Cindy and I have not had twins, but there are other sets of twins on both sides of our families.
