So you want to know about me, huh? I'm sure you do. Well, if I'm revealing so much about myself and my journey, you might as well know how I got here to begin with. I shall spill ze beans for you.
My name's Josh... the internet has branded me JJ. I was born in Virginia, where I lived for 11 years. I moved to Connecticut in 1993, when I started 6th grade. As such, I never picked up the snottiness of CT life, nor did I develop a strong southern accent. Lucky me.
What am I interested in, you might ask? Well, the web is one of my big loves right now. I have worked on all sorts of sites. I own JJO Webpages and INPursuit; I currently am a designer for CGI For Me; I've designed in the past and currently advise Banner-X-Change; Witty Banter and Perl Archive are sites I've contributed to and participate in regularly.
Aside from the internet, I've developed the writing bug as of late. The last year I've been involved in a lot of newspaper writing, writing for my local newspaper the Connecticut Post as a teen writer, editor, and designer (they made me take the goofy shots like the one there, which was cut from the front page - pretty cool). I was Managing Editor of my high school's newspaper my senior year. And entering college I'm developing a satirical newspaper based off my website The PRISM.
I also have a huge interest in music. My head's filled with useless facts and information about CDs, and I am pretty knowledgable about most types of music. Of course, part of that is that I've been a music associate at Circuit City twice, just finishing my second run right now. But it's also stemmed from just a personal interest in music - my room's full of over 1000 CDs I've bought in the last 5 years. I don't even include tapes and records in my count, although I've got tons of them too. HINT: to save on music, visit tag sales, flea markets, and the 99 cent bargain section of Columbia House's website.
I'm currently 18, and turned so in July. If you like the pic of me above, I'm available... I had a girlfriend of 9 months, Cheryl, who even to this day I adore. But she left me recently to go back with a boyfriend that she was with for four years... just 6 weeks after she left me they got engaged. I wish them well, but am still limping along from the whole thing. (For those who are wondering why she's tilted, it was because it was meant for another website, and I'm lazy. So it stays like that.) If she were available again, and I had it all to do again, I would in a snap. As a person she's one of the nicest people you could know, or love. With the one exception of being jilted like that I hold her in high regard. And how could I? She was very nice to everyone, and still is. She was always fun to be around, and still is. And of course, she and I got along great... we rarely fought, if ever. SNAP! OK. I'm out of it now. :-)
