DAY'S MURDER MYSTERY UNVEILED
In Case you missed Friday's episode of Days of Our Lives, the dead girl in the pool turned out to be Penelope. Who? "The mystery woman from England," explains EILEEN DAVIDSON, who has been playiing lookalikes Kristen, Susan, Mary Moira and Thomas, as well as the previously unseen Penelope.
"I guess Penelope saw the photo of Susan in the newspaper (at Vivian's wedding in England) and contacted Susan. She turned out to be a quadruplet - there were forur of them separated at birth."
By "four" Davidson means Susan, Mary Moira, Thomas and Penelope.
"Susan had (Penelope) dress up just like Kristen as part of some kind of plan that backfired on her." (Getting killed would certainly qualify as backfiring, Huh?)
The decision to have the murder victim a stranger came as a happy surprise to Davidson.
"I am so flattered that they didn't want to kill off any of the characters I've created," she says with a smile. "They created a convienient fifth character that the audience has no alliegiance to. It's fascinating to me."
As her storyline winds down, Davidson (who is up for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress on May 15) admits her days are getting a little too long.
"I had one day of 100 pages (of dialogue) which was so mind-bending for me," she sighs. "It wasn't even just the two characters, it was Kristen having to be drunk and Susan becoming slowly drugged. It was so weird and comlicated. They actually had Susan in the beginning not having the (false) teeth in, and I said, 'If I'm going to keep this straight for myself I have to keep the teeth in.'"
Her Dialogue, though, is getting better, and better, she adds.
"I had one line where Kristen said to Susan: 'You're looking good, Susan,' and Susan replied, 'I hope I do - I look just like you!'"
Penelope's murdererwillbe revealed this week - and his identity will definitely shock most viewers.
