The Good News Week Book.

How to Buy your GNW Book
Lesson 1

(JUST TO SET THE SCENE...)

Good News Week' - the book.. well, what can I say. I think the conversation I had at the book store with the woman who sold it to me sums it up.
Lady : They have brilliant minds don't they?
Kat : Yes they do. And one is devilishily cute.
Lady : Yes he is isn't he? But you're not buying this
just because he's devilishly cute are you?
Kat : No, it takes more than one person to
make up the show.
Brendan (a friend acompanying me) : Yeah, well I don't know
what you're talking about, I've never seen the show.
Kat then clubs Brendan to death with the closest book to
hand (a copy of Left, Right and Center)

The Review

I loved the 'GNW' book. It is just a trip down memory lane with lots of friends. It seems to be edited as hastily as the show itself - but always with the desired result. It is more informative about the years events than the Britanica year book. A must have for any young intelectual.

A second Opinion

Thanks Insatia Bunny- your grammer is appaling and I'm too tired to change it!

Has bits at the front from each of the regulars about what gnw means to them.
The contents page is complete bullshit but very funny
ie the book only has 128 pages but the contents says there are more than 158.
Merchandise list in the back is very funny...julie mc joke book - piss take on her 8 jokes...errm,
'coming down the stairs'- the bananas in a porn movie etc etc.
Just out of curiosity, there is a thing that says mikeys keys for sale (to his car and apartment)
and the number to ring is (02)9950-3022 and you ask for paul (costs $2000).
dare you to ring it and find out if its real :)
cos im certainly not going to do it.
The rest of it is bits from episodes...bites, missing person, monologues,
strange but trues, plus a couple of pages of complaints from irate viewers (ABC chairman, a downer, boris yeltsin, pol pot..you get the picture)
theres an 'about the authors' at the front. Illustrations by paul and bits of writing that i would guess are his as well.
and a BEWDIFUL pic of barbara cartland!!!! hehe.
there are some bits of articles, some of which have been in strange but true although
i dont think all of them have and anagrams of names of regulars (i bonk misery, mad rectum plot and relics join scum, for example)
was good for reminiscing and catching up on episodes ive missed.
you could probably be illiterate and still read it, its mostly pictures.
that includes pics of guests and quite a few of paul...the one on the back is one of the better ones.
