With the destruction of the Power Coins in the Shogan Era, Zordon sent the Rangers to 5 different places and times on Earth. Tommy, Kat, Rocky, Adam, and Aisha quested for their Zeo Crystal. Before the Coins were destroyed, Billy, using an age correction invention, returned to his proper age.With the exception of Aisha, all of the other Rangers returned with their crystals. Aisha sent Tanya to the Command Center with her crystal so that she (Aisha) could stay in the time and location of her crystal to help. After the Zeo Crystal was reformed, Goldar and Rito, who were in the Command Center, stole the crystal and blew up the Command Center. Before it had completely blown up, the Rangers were teleported out to saftey.

When the Zeo Era begins, we find the Rangers in the rubble of the Command Center. After finding the Zeo Crystal (which Goldar or Rito dropped) they fell into a hole that dropped them into a hallway that led to the Power Chamber.After following a voice that sounded like Alpha's, they entered the Power Chamber. While all this is happening, the Command Center is rebuilding itself. After finding that Zordon and Alpha alive, the Rangers receive their new powers. Kat , Tanya, Rocky Adam, and Tommy become the new Zeo Rangers.

Note:
While King Mondo was attempting to conquer the Earth, Lord Zedd, Rita Repulsa, and the rest (minus Master Vile), was trying to retake their palace from the Machine Empire during the Zeo and Super Zeo time period. After Mondo went to pieces battling the Rangers with the Sword of Damocles, Lord Zedd sent a missile monster to rule the Machine Empire. Mondo's first son, Gasket, and Archerina, showed up after a while, and then ... well, you get the idea.
