ARMY BRATS
Being self-described "Army Brats", they have moved around a lot. They have lived on
Army bases in Gelnhausen, on Hawaii and in Texas before they moved to their current
reside, Van Nuys in California. All the moving around is one of the reasons they are so
close. Tamera once said that she enjoyed living on the army bases because there was
a lot of kids there. She said it was like a little community. The only thing she didn't like
was all the moving. She just wanted to stay in one place. That was bad because they
had to change schools all the time. Tamera was very glad that she had her sister with her all
the time. In fact they are very close.Up until the fall of 1997, they had never been longer away
from each other for 9 hours !. They were a two-for-one package deal at slumber parties.

            MOVING TO L.A. + THE FIRST YEARS THERE
Tia and Tamera became sick of doing pageants in Texas. They competed in a lot of
talent shows. Tamera sang and Tia danced, they usually won.'We want to act', they said to their parents. So they started doing
commercials and industrial films. Then their mother, Darlene, quit her job in the military so they
could move to Los Angeles. She said : ' Tia and Tamera, I know you guys want to act,
so that's what we're going to do. 'We're going to go to California and stay there for a month. If
you guys get a job, I'll quit mine.' The rest is, as we all know, history. We all owe Mrs. Darlene
Mowry a big hug, don't we ? In the beginning the did some work apart from each other,
Tia danced in some music videos and appeared in many different Tv-series including 
Flesh 'N Blood. When they visited their brother Tahj at the set of "Full House" they discovered
that they were really interested in acting. So they began auditioning for roles against each other.
 Then they became discovered by DePasse Entertainment. They got their own series on ABC,
"Sister, Sister" But after two seasons ABC closed the shown down. (Big mistake !) Almost
immediately the show was picked up by WB. Sister, Sister was the first show at WB to
reach 100 shows.
 

                                               CURRENT LIVES
Tia and Tamera still lives in Van Nuys. They study law and psychology at Pepperdine University
in Malibu. In a chat earlier this year, Tamera said that she wanted to be a child psychologist while
Tia said she wanted to become a lawyer.  Their majors are Growth, Child Development & Law.(?)
 During the summer, Tia considered changing her major to business. I don't know if she did.
 Tia and Tamera still lives with their parents. They know that one day they will have to move
away from each other. 'It's weird to even think about it, but we know it will happen one of
these days,'Tia told CS earlier this year.
 Tia and Tamera are very religious. They attend church regularly and does not hide that they
are christian. They both wear WWJD-bracelets. Reading the bible is a very important part
of their lives. Before going to bed, they always read their bible and pray
 They are also super committed to stellar causes. Some of them are : Make-A-Wish Foundation,
Aids Project L.A. and Victory Over Violence. They have a super busy schedule with
school, studying, Sister Sister, charity, social life, family mm. That's one of the main reasons I and
many others with me are so big fans of these sweethearts. 
 Sister Sister is currently in its 6th season. It is hughely popular. Tia and Tamera have won
many awards, most notably the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards for best actresses, which
they by the way have won three times. The episode "Ski Squad" was nominated for an Emmy.
 Tia and Tamera are very proud of their show. Tamera : 'I'm proud to say that Sister, Sister is
a wholesome show. 'In my opinion some of the other teen shows are losing that'.
  Tia and Tamera are very intellegent young women. They have A's in all subjects.
That is a great accomplishment with all their business. Neither Tia or Tamera has
boyfriends (currently). But that just have to change in the near future. They are intellegent,
outgoing, funny and so on. Both Tia and Tamera says that boys seem a little intimidated when they approach them.
Boys probably think that because they're in the business, they probably already have boyfriends.
 Tamera has said that she has only had one boyfriend in her life.
 'Don't be afraid to approach us, just talk to us and get to know us better', they say.
   In the recent months, there have been rumors that T&T will be out with a CD and a movie.
 Both rumors have been confirmed. That means that we T&T fans have a lot of things to look
 forward to. Let's just hope there will be a season 7 of Sister Sister !!!!
