Hi Everyone,
Things are looking pretty bad for collectors at the
Thousand Oaks store now. All the Looney Tunes stuff fits
in the back corner of the store now with pokemon and
powerpuff taking over the front half of the store. I
really hope this will turn around soon when both of these
die out - which they will. With the low grade animation
and really bad writing they will go the way of the power
rangers in no time. I've had several people tell me they
don't even go to the WB Stores anymore though. This could
really be a bad trend. It looks like WB is abandoning the
base of customers that built their stores. I know we buy
far more on ebay now than we do in the stores and if
others are doing the same I can only see more stores
closing in the future.Richard & Gwen

Seen in Stores
- The WB Store Online
has the Tweety Grams on sale for $9.95 each. They
also have the summer collection at 20% off. This
is nice stuff - we stocked up with a set for
picnics. URL: http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/stat?id=vzTUpunnJhY&offerid=11941&type=3&subid=0
- The WB Studio Store
has two new cookie jars that are pretty cool. The
first one is Marvin and K-9 in a crashed rocket.
It is mainly bright silver and has Daffy and
Porky tumbling out the back side. It is very
striking and would look good in a display case.
The second jar is a surfer's car with Bugs, Taz,
Tweety, Sylvester and Daffy. Unfortunately
neither of these is available online so you will
have to visit a store to get them.
- The WB Store also has
a beach party serving platter. It is ceramic and
about 14 inches long. One end is the beach with
Bugs and Daffy playing and the other is the water
with Sylvester chasing Tweety. $20
- Candy Machines is
selling large powered gumball machines. You can
get them with many options, including running
lights and talking. These are the ones that you
see in stores and can be a bit expensive. URL: http://www.candymachines.com/looneytunes.htm . Thanks to Donnie for the
tip!

Looney News
- Bradford Editions is
making two sets of ornaments available again.
First is the Looney Tunes Classic Cartoon
Favorites Collectible Ornaments. These have 3D
resin characters playing around the bullseye logo
with a phrase written beside them and come in
sets of 2. The ornaments out now are Bugs and Taz,
Tweety & Sylvester, Taz and Daffy. The second
set is all Tweety in Home For The Holidays
Heirloom Classics Ornament Collection. These
feature a resin Tweety in a metal cage doing
various Christmas things and come in sets of 3.
Both are nice series. All ornaments are $10 each
and you can find more info on their site at http://www.collectiblestoday.com .
- There are two new
gumball machines being sold regularly on ebay now.
Both are glass and diecast metal and have a
figure on top. One is Tweety and the other is Taz.
I haven't found them in stores yet but you can
expect to pay $20 - $25 for them on ebay.
- Wendy's is doing a
kids meal promotion now featuring pens. There are
5 that I have seen that stand upright when not in
use and have some action built in. Daffy,
Sylvester, Taz, Wile E. and Marvin are the ones
in restaurants now.
- Paul has set up a page
about collecting cartoon glasses. You can visit
him at http://users.erols.com/pmerolle/ and see some pics of really
old ones.
- The WB Studio Stores
are starting a new series of artwork called Power
Pictures. They feature a lithograph with a sound
recording. The first one will be a dedication to
Mel Blanc called "Speechless" (yes it
is the same artwork as previous releases) and has
what looks like several buttons on the bottom. No
info on pricing or what it will say yet. Check
your local WB Gallery for details. Thanks to
Donnie for the tip!
