I don't exactly get what you're trying to say. But if you're talking about scanning images from newspapers, I wouldn't advise you to do so because the resolution is low and the paper is very thin. Some magazines are ok, but you'll still need to touch up the pics.

(a) The burning fire doesn't look outstanding on a white background
(b) The main page is already quite 'heavy', putting it there might make it too long to load the page

Of course the pics taken from here cannot be set as wallpaper, they're in .jpg format, not .bmp. You can either convert them to bitmap (bmp) first, or use a program (eg. ACDSee) to help you set any picture to wallpaper.
