Though relatively new to acting, David is experienced in the world of television - his father is a veteran weather forecaster for WPVI in Philadelphia. A graduate of Ithaca College where he studied film for three years, David left his native Philadelphia and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting.
David experienced his first acting break three days after arriving in Los Angeles. He walked into a production office where a Foster's Beer commercial was being shot with the hopes of working behind the camera. Instead, he found himself playing a part in the commerical in front of the camera.
David's breakthrough came when he landed a role as a guest on the television show "Married...with Children" playing Kelly Bundy's biker boyfriend. He has also appeared in the television movie "Men Don't Lie."
Boreanaz's theatre credits include "Hatful of Rain," Italian-American Reconciliation," "Fool for Love," and "Cowboy Mouth." He has appeared in films "Aspen Extreme," "Best of the Best II," and "Eyes of the World."
To support himself while studying the art of acting, David worked parking cars at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, painting houses, and handing out towels at a sports club. He was discovered by his future manager while walking his dog, Bertha Blue, through a park near his house. A few days later, he landed the role of Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
David describes himself as an energetic child with an active imagination: "I was all over the place. I loved to go ride my bike, play in the woods. I was an adventurous kind of kid. I got into trouble only becaue I let my imagination run wild." His dream of being a pro football player ended during his junior year of high school when he injured his knee while completing a track jump.
David currently resides in Los Angeles with his dogs, Bertha Blue and Fritz.
