Dushku’s decision to join the Buffy cast required her to turn down her acceptances to Boston and George Washington Universities.
Eliza’s role as Faith on Buffy marks a return to acting after a two year hiatus spent concentrating on grades and having a normal high school life. Dushku describes the difficulties she faced her freshman and sophomore years in high school. “It was kind of strange, because it wasn’t just the students that were badgering me,” she explains. “I was getting badgered by teachers, too. They’d be like, ‘You don’t have your homework in? What, you think you don’t have to do your homework because you’re a movie star?’ I figured, why can’t I just say my dog ate it like everyone else in the room.”
Dushku’s film credits include This Boy’s Life and True Lies.
Dushku’s parents are both college professors who are presently in Romania, writing a book.
