The Club - Prologue
by Geraldine Stokes
It was a dark, multi-floored club in one of the better parts of LA. Smoke curled through the levels as men and women wandered about drinking, talking softly and checking the other patrons out. The only unusual rule was inside the club everyone had to use their special name, not their real name. Outside was always a different matter if both parties wanted, but inside....
Looking at some of the bowls of free condoms, Logan was busy talking to a number of interested women. But while planning this holiday, he had decided to something about one of his favorite fantasies. Something he had dreamed about since he had been a teenager, but had never acted out. Until now, he hoped.
Watching the new arrivals Logan noticed a man, he was sure he knew. Somewhere through work, he decided. But the new arrival suddenly looked like the best possibility out of all the other men there.
Curtis nervously wandered into the club. No one knew why he had come to LA, and now he had arrived he was beginning to wonder if it had been such a good idea after all. It wasn’t he did not love his wife and he certainly loved sleeping with her, but every once in a while he found himself wondering if he had made the right choice. Within minutes Curtis noticed someone watching him and slowly start walk towards him. The bar was close, so Curtis quickly got himself a beer and a seat while scanning the crowd. He quickly picked out the man with thick black hair coming towards him. Curtis nodded slightly in the other man direction, inviting him over.
Logan sat down on a seat next to Curtis and ordered a beer for himself. Carefully watching Curtis, he sipped his beer letting Curtis make the first move. Turning around on his chair, to face Logan, Curtis smiled.
“I know you from somewhere else don’t I?” Logan nodded, “Yes from work back home, I think.... But we don’t have to say anything about this place, outside. If you don’t want to.”
Curtis considered this for a second, before putting his hand on Logan’s knee. “I wouldn’t mind seeing some of the private sections of the club. And I want you to show me them.”
“Outside of the club, this never happened.”
“Agreed.”
