Chapter 15 Carly curled up on the window seat in her room and sighed. It was another lonely Saturday night. When AJ had called her to tell her that Alan wasn't coming home after all, out of the goodness of her heart she suggested AJ take Michael for the weekend. AJ was overjoyed and so was Michael. So yet again, it was another lonely Saturday night. Just her, the radio, and the stars. ** Late at night when all the world is sleeping I stay up and think of you And I wish on a star That somewhere you are thinking of me too ** I wonder what Jason's doing? Probably having some “romantic” dinner with Robin, she thought bitterly. While I sit alone. But I had him for a few hours Tuesday. Just me, him, and Michael. Carly smiled at the memories. ** Cause I'm dreaming of you tonight ‘Til tomorrow I'll be holding you tight And there's nowhere in the world I'd rather be Than here in my room dreaming about you and me ** Ah, geez, what am I doing? Sitting here on my butt, mooning over a man I can't have and who doesn't want me ** Wonder if you ever see me And I wonder if you know I'm there If you looked in my eyes Would you see what's inside Would you even care? ** And I'm listening to sappy love songs! Carly reached over and snapped off the radio. She stood up. Well, no more! I need a change of pace. Carly went over to her closet and pulled out a black silk mini-dress with a slit up each side and spaghetti straps. She had brought right after she got out of Ferncliff, needing something that made her feel like a woman. Well, it's time! I'm going out! ~~~~~ Carly wobbled slightly as she got out the cab. She had gone club-hopping through the few dance clubs in Port Charles and in each one a couple of guys had sent or brought her a drink. Carly had gotten a thrill out of it all. It showed her that she was still attractive to other men. She had got into the cab intending to head for the docks but had changed her mind and went to Jake's instead. She walked unsteadily into the bar. “Hey, Jake!” Carly waved to the owner. “Well hello stranger. Haven't seen you in here in a long time. Nice dress.” Jake came over to her. Carly twirled drunkenly. She giggled. “You like?” Jake nodded. “Wish I still had the bod to wear it. So what can I do for you?” “You can give me a shot of your best… whatever! Just make sure it's liquor and it keeps coming!” Carly plopped down on a barstool. Jake poured her a shot of whiskey and passed it on to Carly. “Here ya go.” She propped herself against the bar. “Hey what happened to that very hot guy you used to play *pool* with? You two used to be all over each other.” Carly gulped down her drink and smirked. “Yeah, Jase and I used to have some good times. That was all I was good for then. Give me another.” A guy sidled up to Carly. “Hey sexy. You're a little dressed up for a place like this but I like it. How's about you and I, ah,” He ran a finger down Carly's bare arm. “Spend some time together away from here?” Carly knocked his hand away. “Back off buddy! You don't know who you're messing with. I am, was, the mother of Jason Morgan's child and if you know what's good for ya, you'd leave me alone. You don't want to make Jason mad.” “You're Morgan's property, huh? I don't need that sort of trouble.” The guy backed away. “Loser.” Carly muttered. She looked at Jake. “Where's my drink?” She demanded. Jake poured her another. “Don't you think you've had enough?” “I just got here! This is my second drink!” “Yeah but you look like you had a few before you got here.” “Get off my back okay?” Carly glared. Jake nodded and went over to the phone. “Hey, its me. I think you better call your boss and tell him there's a certain blonde mommy here who's drunk and could get into trouble soon. I'll keep her here until someone comes to get her.” ~~~~~~ Twenty Minutes Later Carly was dancing in front of the jukebox. Several guys had approached her but all back down at the mention of Jason. Carly stopped dancing as the song ended and walked back to the bar. “Jake do me a favor and call me a cab, huh? I should get home. Or Mommy will ground me.” She laughed. Jake reached for the phone. “So you ready to end the party huh?” “Yup, yup, yup.” Carly nodded. “Party's over!” Just then Jason showed up, flanked by Renaldo and Vinnie. “About time you showed up.” Jake muttered. Carly turned around with a wide smile. “Hey, hey, hey! You're too late. Party's done. Such a shame. I would have loved to party with Naldo here and Vinnie's got a great butt!” Carly laughed. “But no, no, no partying with Jasie cause that would make Robin-Wobbin mad and we can't have that, oh no, no, no.” Carly shook her head with each no. Jason sighed. “Carly, it's time to go home.” “I was all ready on my way *there*. Ask Jake.” Jason looked at Jake who nodded. “Okay. But I'll take you home anyway.” Carly grabbed her purse off the bar. “Whatever. Now I won't have to pay for a cab. Come on, boys.” Carly sauntered out of the bar followed by Renaldo, Jason, and Vinnie pulling up the rear. Carly stopped in front of Jason's limo. “This door's not going to open by itself!” She said crankily. Renaldo opened the door for her and she slid in. Jason came in after her and sat across from her. Renaldo slammed the door after them. “So Jason do you like my dress?” Carly asked striking a pose. “You're drunk Carly.” Jason said. “Oh, thank you Jason, it is new.” Carly said as if he asked her about it. “You're drunk.” Jason said again. “So what if I am? My son's with his father and I've been a good mommy. I deserve some time to cut lose!” Carly suddenly smiled and changed her attitude and moved over to Jason's side. “Mmmm, you look good tonight, Jase. Is this one of the suits I talked you into buying or a new one?” Carly curled up next to him and ran her hand down his chest. “Uh, it's new. Robin brought me some new ones.” Jason shifted in his seat. There was a time when he would have enjoyed having Carly all over him but he'd promised Robin he'd be faithful. Carly made a face. “Oh, no, this won't do at all.” Carly started unbuttoning the shirt. “Carly? What are you doing?” Jason tried re-buttoning his shirt but Carly just slapped his hands away. “I. Am. Taking. This. Shirt. Off. You.” Carly said with each button. Carly got the shirt all the way unbuttoned and pushed the shirt and it's matching suit jacket back. “Oh, yes, that's much better. Mmmm.” Carly rubbed her hands all over his bear chest. “This I've missed.” She tweaked a nipple slightly and Jason tried to swallow a groan. “Carly, no. We can't do this.” “Do what Jason? Indulge ourselves?” Carly ran a finger across his lips. She licked her own lips slowly. Jason watched her mouth and said weakly. “I promised…” Jason wanted to tell her to stop. He wanted to tell her that they were just friends. He wanted to kiss her. Carly brought her face close to his and smiled. “Promises are made to be broken.” She whispered. Jason was reaching up to grasp the back of her head and pull her in for a kiss when Carly placed her hand over his lips. “But a promise is a promise.” She quickly went back to her seat and stared out the window. Jason sat there stunned. “Huh?” Carly sighed. “Put your shirt back on and take me home so you can go back to Robin. And please don't worry about me and keep tabs on me anymore. I don't like it.” She turned back to the window. Jason got back into his clothes, confused on what had just happened. And they rode back to the docks in silence. *Note* The song is "Dreaming" by Selena and no matter what Carly thinks, it's a beautiful song!
