Chapter 21 AJ told Robin about the dockworkers strike. He mentioned Jason's demands to end the strike. One of Jason's demands is that AJ not seek custody of Michael. Robin offers to help AJ. AJ: how can you help me Robin? Robin: I have connections in the dockworkers union. My stepfather was a past president of that union. AJ: I heard of Duke Lavery. How does that help me? Robin: The current leaders of the union are old friends of Uncle Duke. And they are friendly with me. I can call them and arrange a meeting for you. AJ: But wouldn't they just follow Jason’s orders? Robin: They would on business, but using Michael makes it a personal matter. And that is something they will not allow. If you make your pitch then maybe you can settle this strike. AJ: Do you think that they will listen to me? Robin: If you tell them everything and listen to their concerns then you could make a deal with them. AJ: But I am a Quartermaine. They will never trust a Quartermaine. Robin: I will bet you that they don't know about the demand involving Michael. They are not going to be happy staying on strike just to keep a baby away from his father. AJ: That will make a difference? Robin: These people have families. They will want to go back to work. But they will need their concerns addressed. AJ: I am willing to address their concerns. Robin: Then let me make the call. Let me repay you for your kindness AJ? AJ: All right Robin. Robin heads to the phone. She calls Angel. She arranges for a meeting at Duke's old club at noon. Robin and AJ leave for the meeting.
