Chapter 11

After finishing the surgery on Robin, Monica left for the waiting room to let 
everyone know what is going in. It wasn't easy for her when she found out that 
it was Robin. She arrived at the waiting room and saw the eyes of everyone focus 
on her. She saw that everyone wanted to know how was Robin. She came up to Mac. 

Monica: Robin was shot once in the chest Mac. The wound was very serious. 

Mac interrupts Monica. 

Mac: Monica. I have been waiting here without knowing if my Niece is alive or 
dead. How is Robin? 

Monica: Robin is alive. 

Monica hears cheers in the room as she said that. 

Mac: Thank god. 

Monica: Robin is alive but she is not out of the woods yet. As I was saying 
before her wound was very serious. The bullet grazed her heart and then it 
pierced her lung causing it to collapse. The fact that she is still alive is a 
miracle. 

During the surgery we discovered that Robin had three major problems caused by 
the wound. One of them would have been enough to kill her but it didn't. 

The first thing we did is to re-inflate her lung. We sewed the damage to her 
lung and re-inflated it. That took care her of her breathing problem. 

We then turned to the bleeding. The bullet caused major internal bleeding. We 
were able to take care of that. 

The third and biggest problem is to repair the damage to her heart. The bullet 
just grazed her heart. But there was still some damage to it. We had to 
carefully repair the damage. We were able to do that. 

Mac: SO Robin will be fine now that you took care of the damage? 

Monica: I am not sure Mac. Her wound was very serious. We repaired the damage. 
But her body is very weak. She is in a coma up at ICU. Right now she is on the 
brink of death. We repaired the damage to her but it is up to her. 

Mac: Monica! I need to know the odds. IS Robin going to make it or is she going 
to die? 

Monica: I can't tell you Mac. The fact that she has made it so long is very 
good. It shows that she wants to live. That is the best thing for her. There is 
a chance that she will not make it. I will not be surprised if she goes either 
way. I have done everything I can. The next few days will be the key. I wish 
that I could tell you what you need to know. 

Mac: Thank you Monica for everything you have done. 

Mac and Monica hug. Several hours pass. It is the following day. Nikolas is 
doing his volunteer work at the hospital. He comes up to Robin's ICU room. He is 
sad when he comes up to her. He notices her hooked up to the machines. He sits 
down next to her and gently holds on to her hand. 

Nikolas: Robin, I don't know if you can hear me but I need to say this. I love 
you Robin. I have loved you since I first saw you. I want to be with you Robin. 
Please be with me Robin. 

Nikolas notices Robin's coming out of her coma. She looks at Nikolas. 

Robin: Stone? Is that you? It is you, Stone. I want you to know that I will… 

Suddenly Nikolas notices that the monitor starts beeping and that it has a flat 
line. Suddenly Bobbie and other people rush into the room. She looks at Nikolas. 

Bobbie: You have to get out of here Nikolas. Let us work on Robin. 

Nikolas: Please save her Bobbie. Don’t let her die. 

Bobbie: We will do our best. 

Bobbie and the others start to work on Robin as Nikolas waits outside.
