Chapter Six After breakfast Lucky and Will went in the back yard to play with Lulu and Luke called Bobbie. She arrived not long after the phone call. “Luke. Why didn't you tell me? Where is Lucky? What does our brother look like?” Bobbie asked, rushing into the house. “Take a breath, Sis. I'll go get them. Sit down and relax. Ruby is on her way.” Luke said and went to get the kids. Bobbie looked up when they entered the room and said, “I'll kill him.” “Hi Aunt Bobbie,” Lucky said and walked to her. She put her arms around him and hugged him. “It is over, Lucky, and that man will never get near you again,” Bobbie said. “Dad keeps telling me that, but it is hard to believe when he has walls covered with pictures of all of us. He even had some of BJ and Michael. There were articles of her death and his kidnapping. He even had some of Carly and about her being locked up. He is coming back,” Lucky said, his voice breaking. “Cowboy, you didn't tell me this before. What else does he have?” Luke asked. “Everything.” Will said. “I know about all of you. Your travels and the major parts of your lives.” Luke, Bobbie and Laura looked at each other. They were worried more than ever. They not only had to protect the boys, but their entire family. Luke suddenly realized he didn't introduce Will. “Sis, this is Will.” Luke said. “Hi,” Will said softly. “Come here,” Bobbie said and opened her arms to her little brother. She hugged him and then looked him over. “You and Lucky could be twins if it wasn't for the hair color and the eyes. Where is your mother?” “She ran off about two years ago. She left me with dad,” Will said. “Well, your not going back with him. We will talk about where you're going to live later. I know you're welcome here or my house. So, you don't have to worry about any of it,” Bobbie told him. Ruby arrived a little while later and Will was introduced to his Aunt Ruby. They talked up to lunch and Ruby helped fix it. She had to do something to keep her mind off of her nephews and what Lorenzo had done to them. They were eating lunch when someone knocked at the door. Laura got up and it was Mac with V and Garcia. “Laura, can we come in?” Mac asked with a strange tone of voice. “Sure Mac. What brings you here?” Laura asked and moved out of the way. “I need to see, Luke,” Mac said. “What's up Bubba?” Luke asked getting up from the table. Mac took a deep breath and then spoke. “Luke Spencer you are under arrest and the charges are expected child abuse. I have warrant to take the minor Lucky Spencer with me for his protection, and, if a William Spencer is here, I have to take him to.” “What?” Everyone yelled. “No. I'm not going with him,” Lucky and Will both said and started to run out of the room. Garcia tried to stop them, but they were too fast for him. Luke was in shock and let Mac handcuff him. He looked at Laura and his eyes told her more than words ever could. “Bobbie could you and Ruby look after Lulu. I'm going with Luke and could you get Jason to look for the boys and see if he could bring them back?” Laura asked as Mac walked Luke out of the house. “This is a joke.” Bobbie said. “I don't think so, but he isn't going to get away with it,” Laura said and hurried to join Luke. “I can't find them.” Garcia said to Mac. “You and V. keep looking and I will take the Spencers downtown.” Mac said and got in the car and drove away. “What is going on?” Luke demanded. “I got call from the DA. I know this is some mistake, but Luke, I have no choice. Lucky and Will are running, but from whom?” Mac asked. “My father. He kidnapped Lucky about two months ago. I just got him back last night. Will is my little brother. Mac, on Robert and Anna's graves, promise that you won't let him near those boys. I don't give a damn about me,” Luke begged his friend. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mac ushered Luke and Laura into his office and took the handcuffs off of Luke. They all sat down as Mac took out a file of papers. “This is what was handed to me this morning. I didn't believe a word of it, but my hands are tied right now.” Luke took the papers from Mac, reading them in disgust. A detective, Mr. Lorenzo Spencer, had been working on a case of suspected child abuse for the past two months. In the report, he had stated that Luke had taken Lucky away with him, and had abused him before coming back to Port Charles. Suspicion for the abuse… Lucky was a reminder of Luke's wife. After reading it completely, Luke handed the papers to Laura. The same reaction was on her face, shock and disgust. “How absurd can someone be to actually believe this?” she asked. Mac looked at her with sympathy, thinking of what she must be going through in all of this. She had just gotten her husband and son back, only to have this happen. “I told you that I didn't believe it, but my hands are completely tied. Det. Spencer had the backings of his whole department on this case, even though it was out of his jurisdiction. Somehow, he was able to convince them to give him this case because he said he could get close enough without being noticed since he is your father.” “That man was never a father to me,” Luke said in anger. Laura placed a hand on Luke's thigh, trying to comfort him and reassure him that this would be alight all at the same time. “What do we do now, Mac? Luke's innocent of these charges.” “Well, the DA went for an arrest, so Luke's got to stay here until there is a bail hearing scheduled. I suggest you find a lawyer quickly because the DA wants to move on this case,” Mac informed Luke and Laura. “Can you give us a few minutes to discuss that?” Laura asked. “Sure. I'll be back in 5 minutes,” Mac said as he was leaving. Laura turned back to Luke who was just staring at the ground. He looked completely worn and worried out of his mind. Laura had never seen Luke lose it like this before, but she completely understood why. She just wish he would stop blaming himself for everything that's happened. “What do you want to do?” she asked him. “I want to kill him,” Luke responded. He looked around the room and back at Laura. “I guess I shouldn't say those words in here. They may end up using them against me in court.” “As for court… who do you want me to call to represent you?” Laura asked. “Who'd be willing to represent me and be able to do a good enough job of proving my innocence?” Luke asked her, desperation in his eyes. “There are a few. Justice?” Laura asked. Luke shook his head no. “I know he's good. I mean, he was able to defend you, while at the same time, saving his own butt from being discovered as the true murderer. But, he's working with Jason now, and that is his main priority. I don't want to be just some case shoved in the corner.” “Scotty?” Laura asked. “Yeah, great choice, darling. That man would love to see me rot in jail for me stealing you away from him. I think I'd rather take my chances with the wolves,” Luke said. Laura looked at her husband, knowing her next suggestion wouldn't go off as well as her last two, but she believed this was the best choice. “What about Alexis?” “No way! I'm not trusting my life in the hands of a Cassadine. Never!” Luke looked at Laura, wondering how that could have even crossed her mind. “Luke, she's the best choice. I know you know that too. She's not occupied with anyone else at the moment, and she's good. You remember how she got Tony and Stefan both cleared, and Tony was actually guilty,” Laura said, hoping her words were getting through. “No. No way am I turning to a Cassadine,” Luke said, Laura's words obviously going in one ear and out the other. Mac came back in before Luke and Laura could come to an agreement. As Mac was taking Luke down to his cell, Laura went to Luke, giving him a hug and whispering in his ear, “Just think about it.” Luke didn't even look like he would consider it as he left with Mac. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lucky and Will had been running for a while before they stopped to catch their breath. “Come with me. I know the perfect place to hide out,” Lucky said. Lucky and Will headed for the catacombs, and once they went in them, they stopped and sat down to get a little rest. Neither one of them wanted to voice their fears, but Will spoke up first. “He's coming for us.” “He won't find us here. Don't worry, Will. Dad will get out of this jam and he'll know where we are. He'll get to us and we'll get away from here,” Lucky said, hoping that his father could get out of jail before his grandfather could find him and Will. Just then, Lucky and Will heard someone walking around outside. They tried to hide, but they weren't quick enough. The person had found them as Lucky and Will screamed. “Hay, It is Ok. Lucky. Will. It's me, Sonny.” Sonny said moving into the dim light. “Sonny. Don't do that, man. You scared the both of us to death.” Lucky said moving a little closer. “Come on. I have a place to hide you until this mess gets straighten out.” Sonny said and the three of them left the catacombs and headed to the safe house.
