Chapter Seven Laura ignored Luke's objections and went to the Port Charles Hotel. He needed a good lawyer and Alexis was his best bet. She went up to Alexis room and knocked on the door. Alexis opened it and was surprised to find Laura Spencer standing there. “What can I do for you?” Alexis asked. “I need you to represent Luke.” Laura said. Alexis fought the compulsion to run, because the first thought was that everyone found out about her and Luke's little scream that got Katherine killed. She took a deep breath and asked, “What is he being charged for?” “Alexis. Can I come in and tell you. I don't want to tell you this out here.” Laura said looking around the hall. Alexis moved a side and waited for Laura to speak. She was forcing herself to remain calm and collective. “Luke is being charged with Child Abuse.” “What? Who did he supposedly hurt? Not Nikolas. I am not taking the case if that is what is happening.” Alexis said starting to stand up. “No. Not Nikolas but Lucky.” Laura said flatly. “Lucky? Luke would never hurt his own son.” Alexis said very confident of that fact. “I know that and so does everyone else here, but it is happening. I'll start from the beginning. Two months ago Luke left town and only said good bye to Lucky. Right after that, Luke's father kidnapped Lucky and took him to his house back in Miami. There he kept him prisoner until less then about a day ago. During that time he beat Lucky just as he did Luke, Bobbie and his younger son, Will. Now, this monster has convinced his friends in the police department where he works that it was Luke that did the beating. They are going to try and take my son from me and lock up Luke. Alexis. I'm begging you, Luke needs your help. Don't let this happen.” Laura said. Alexis thought about all of what Laura had said and even went over the things that her and Luke did. Luke didn't have to save Stefan. He could have let him go to prison but he didn't. Right, It was Luke that put him in that position on the first place but did that really matter now. “I'll do it.” Alexis said and got her brief case and left with Laura. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ At the police station Luke wasn't happy about seeing Alexis and looked at her coldly and said. “I don't need your help.” “You need my help and you know it. So, do me a favor and keep you big month shut and let me do the talking.” Alexis said as Luke was brought into the room. Alexis argued with the Dara until late in that day. She finally got a bail hearing and even got the warrant dropped on Lucky and Will. She did have to get both of them a meeting with Dara and Mac, before the end of the day. She also promised that both boys would be kept a far away from Luke as possible or when they were around him some other adult would be close by watching. Lucky and Will would stay at Bobbie's house until this mess got straighten out. Luke even agreed to be put under house arrest until everything was cleared up. He didn't like it but at least it wasn't jail and he had more room to move around. Plus, if things did turn bad to worse Luke got a chance to run and vanish. At the Spencer house, Alexis watched as Mac put the anklet on Luke. “I'm sorry about this but I have no choice.” Mac said to Luke. “I understand but I still don't like it.” Luke said and rubbed his hand over the object. Mac turned to Alexis and said, “I will see you and the boys at my office by six.” Mac left after that hating himself more and more. Alexis looked at Luke and asked, “Are you sure you can get them by that time?” Luke smiled and picked up the phone. He called Sonny's private number. “Sonny. I need you to bring Lucky and Will to Bobbie house. Alexis will be waiting for you and will tell you what is going on.” Luke said when Sonny answered the phone. A few minutes later Luke hung up the phone. “You got it. Alexis, I am letting you do this but don't let me down. You will not like what I would do if my father gets anywhere near my son or my little brother.” Alexis ignored his remark and let him alone with Laura. “Go with her. Lucky is going to need you at this moment. I can handle myself.” Luke said kissing her on the lips. Laura realized he was right and she went to Lucky's side. Luke watched her leave from the window. He looked around the house and hated being copped up even now. At least it was better then jail and he had a phone line anytime he wanted. Luke was in the kitchen getting something to eat when Foster started to growl Luke turned around and found his father standing in the doorway. “You bastard. You have some nerve coming in my house.” Luke said and moved to attack. “I wouldn't. You would just make matters worse.” Lorenzo said and held a gun up and pointed it right at Luke. Luke stopped but didn't back down. “Why are you coming back now? You left us along time ago and didn't give a damn then. You left two kids and you dead wife on couch and you think that makes you a good father. I'm going to beat you in this game. I'm not letting you hurt my son or my brother anymore. I'm going to prove that it was you not me that hit Lucky.” Luke said. Foster moved in front of Luke and started to growl. Lorenzo looked at the dog and then his son. “You’re dreaming son. I did leave you and your sister because you were both lost causes. I'm going to make a man out of Lucky one way or another.” Lorenzo said and walked back out of the house. Luke started to go after him but suddenly realized that is what his old man wanted. Luke looked out the backdoor and saw Taggert and another man standing with his father. “I'm not going for it.” Luke said to himself and went to call Jason. He needed to put men on the house and Bobbie's house. After making the call Luke started picking up things and throwing them. He hated his father more and more but playing his game would only put him in jail and give him Lucky and Will. Luke refused to do that. Luke was by the fireplace and picked up a little glass figure. He stopped when he got a glimpse of the picture of Lucky, Luke, and Laura standing in front of the Triple L Dinner. Luke picked up the picture and looked at it sadly. Luke let the tears fall from his eyes and promised himself that Lucky was going to be this happy again if it took going to the Cassadines and telling them everything. Luke realized that Lucky meant more to him then his own pride.
