Part 13: The Empty Carriage Carly had a look of horror as the carriage flew off the edge of the docks. Carly: NOOOOOO! Without much thought, she jumped in after Caitlyn. From the docks, George smiled as pulled out his cell phone and hit speed dial. George: Mr. Moreno, the job is done. It would have been more effective if we actually used the real kid. Moreno: The baby is still more use to us alive then dead. We just needed that little display to let them know just how dangerous this situation is… and that they better do as I tell them to. George hung up and walked away. *^* Linus Quartermaine and Alisha arrived to the house they bought a month ago. They just came from yet another dinner party. She took off her coat and tossed it onto the back of the chair as she shrugged. Alisha: How many more dinner parties do we have to go to? I mean, the stocks were already released to you. Linus frowned and looked at her. Linus: You know the rules… we have to be "happily" married for one year and then it's ours to keep. Then we can divorce, you get half, I get half and you and your daughter can live in a big, fancy house, with a picket fence in a nice neighborhood… don't forget why you did this. Alisha: Right, for Zoe… So, what's the next step? Linus: Well, the fax that I am now an ELQ stockowner should reach Ned and Uncle Ed by now… At the next meeting, I will pop into the mansion with my new partner and let them know they better get used to us. Alisha: All right… when is the next board meeting? Linus grinned. Linus: Tonight. *^* Luke looked at Stefan, angry as hell. Luke: Well, Steffin, tell me, what the hell are you doing here? Stefan straitened up and then spoke in his usual manner. Stefan: I have simply come here to speak to Nikolas about the concern of his mother. Lucky could sense where this was going to go and stepped in. Lucky: Well, now that you and Nikolas have spoken, I suppose you shall be leaving. Stefan: Yes, I suppose I will. *Looks to Luke* I would like to… thank you. Luke was taken back for a second. Stefan Cassadine thanking him? Luke: For what? Stefan: For rescuing my nephew from the fire. Luke: *a bit hostile* It was no problem. He is my son after all. Stefan cringed at the emphasized word "son". Stefan: Right. *Looks to Nikolas* Nikolas, I have some news for you. Nikolas: What? Stefan: Charles is in town, visiting. Nikolas: *smiles* Charles is in town? When did he get here? Stefan: Last night. Nikolas: He has been gone so long, I was afraid we were never going to see him again. How long is he staying? Stefan: He has not specified on his stay as of yet. Nikolas: Say hello to him for me. Stefan: I will. Stefan walked away. Lucky: Who's this Charles guy? Nikolas: Charles Silver is an old friend of the family… let me rephrase that, an old friend of Stefan and Alexis'. Family would include Helena, and he hates her. Lizzie: Hates Helena? I like him already. Nikolas gave a small laugh and then returned to his sorrowness, worried about his mother. Nikolas: How much longer until they tell us about mother? Lucky thought it was weird the way Nikolas said it. He was used to him calling him Laura. He probably should not be surprised, ever since she came back, things have improved a little. Plus, crises usually brings out deep feelings you'd keep locked up other times. Lucky: Man, I wish I knew. Suddenly, a doctor came out of nowhere. Nikolas shot right up from his seat, Emily followed him. Everyone gathered around the doctor… it was a little scary for him, the way they looked like they were about to pounce on him. Luke: What's the news, doc? Doctor: *smiles* Mr. Spencer, your wife is going to be fine. Everyone sighs and relief. Lucky hugged Lizzie and Nikolas hugged Emily. *^* Lark had slept in for awhile and was walking into the kitchen to see Julie sitting at the table. Lark: What are you doing here? Weren't you booted out? Julie: Well, Lark, Frank was just a little angry, but I'm sure now that he's slept on it, he'll realize what he's done is wrong and he'll take me back. You see, what Frank and I have is special and not even you can break it up. Lark: Yeah right. Julie: Lark, you'll never know what it's like to have this kind of love, because you're too young and too vile. Frank: No, she's right… Frank walks in. Frank: There's no way in hell I'm taking you back, Julie. Lark: I'll leave you two alone… Frank: No, this won't take long. Lark went over to the fridge, got out the milk and started pouring herself a glass. Julie: Frank, come on, you love me… Frank: No I don't. Not anymore, you lost my love the minute I saw you for exactly what you were. Julie looks at him, hurt… but then, angry. Julie: You don't want me anymore, then fine! It's your loss. You are so pathetic Frank. You're taking a sixteen-year-old girl over me! I don't even know why I bothered wasting any time on you, you worthless slob! Julie turned abruptly and started heading out. Lark: Hey, Julie! Julie: *turns to Lark* What!? Lark takes her glass of milk and tosses it all over Julie. Julie spreads out her arms and looks at the milk soaking her beautiful blouse and skirt. She looks a Lark with an open jaw and a shocked look. Lark gives her a little smile. Lark: Got milk?
