Part 18: An Old Face Bobbie entered the penthouse, Lucas at her side. Bobbie: Caroline!? Where are you? She didn't realize what she had called her daughter, she was too worried about her granddaughter. Jason came from his office. Jason: Bobbie, what are you doing here? Bobbie: I read about Caitlyn. Why the hell didn't anyone call me? Jason: Carly tried calling you last night, but she got Betty. Bobbie: I was at Mercy, trying to help the bomb victims. Jason: Yes, she tried to get a hold of you there, but couldn't. She didn't want to leave a message, she wanted you to know from her. Bobbie: Well, why the hell didn't she come by this morning? It would have been nice not to find out from the newspaper. Lucas just stood there, watching the grown ups fight. Jason: Something happened… Bobbie: What? Jason: She got a call this morning. She was supposed to meet this guy at the docks to find out about the baby. She ended up in the water, but Stefan Cassadine was able to pull her out. Bobbie: Is she all right? Jason: Yes. Bobbie: Where is she? Jason: She's gone. I can't tell you where. Bobbie: What do you mean? Jason: It wasn't safe for her here, so I sent her away. Bobbie stood there, wondering what to make of all of this. Her granddaughter has been kidnapped, her daughter has been kidnapped… What next? Then, the door opened. Johnny: Mr. Morgan, Mrs. Benson is here to see you. Jason was surprised. Jason: Send her in. Virginia entered the room, smiling. Virginia: Hello! Jason: I thought you weren't coming for another couple of days. Virginia: I wasn't, but I was able to come today. *Looks at Bobbie* Hello, Bobbie. Bobbie: Hello, Virginia. Virginia: So where's Caroline? Bobbie: She's not here… Virginia: Oh, rats, what about Caitlyn? They were all silent. Virginia was starting to get worried. Virginia: What's going on? *^* Carly entered the big house carrying a suitcase. She didn't have time to pack much. Jason told her that if she did need anything else, it would taken care of. Who was going to take care of it, though? She never did find out who was going to be taking care of her. She looked around the room and saw that it was dark. She started looking for a light switch when she heard a voice. Man: Carly Roberts? *^* Julie Devlin was finishing up for the day, putting her stethoscope in her locker. She had a big headache. Chris was pouring himself a cup of coffee. He took a sip. Chris: This coffee's missing something. *Looks to Julie* Hey, Julie, do you have any milk? Julie looked at him and gave him the evil eye. He started chuckling. Julie: All right, who told you? You and Lark run into each other and compare notes on how to be spoiled little brats. Chris: Ouch, Julie, touchy… Actually, it was Eve. She ran into Lark this morning and she told her everything. Julie: Oh, just prefect. Chris: So, what did you say to her, anyway? Julie: Excuse me? Chris: What did you say to Lark to make her throw milk at you? Julie: I didn't do anything! Wait- exactly what business is it of yours anyway? Chris: What, it was just a question. Julie: Well, I'm not answering. Chris: Doesn't matter, I have a date with a 14-year-old girl with the flu anyway. Chris finished his coffee and left. Julie took her clothes and went in back to change. Damn Chris… No, damn Frank and that little witch, she thought, if she wants him, she could have him! Julie looks in the mirror. She decides tonight she's gonna have a little fun. *^* Carly: *looks at man standing in hallway* Yes, hello. Man: Jason called me earlier, he told me everything. I'm sorry about your daughter. Carly: Thanks… Could you turn on the light, it's kinda dark in here. Man: Oh, yeah, sure. He flipped a switch and she saw his face. Carly: You? Man: What? Is there a problem? Carly: No, it's just that when Jason told me I was going to stay with a friend, I didn't think it was going to be Sonny Corinthos himself. Sonny: So, you know me? Carly: Jason's told me a lot about you. Sonny: He told me a lot about you, too… Want me to show you to your room? Carly: Yes, thanks. Sonny took her suitcase for her and the headed upstairs. *^* Brenda has asked her mother to leave earlier, so she could think. She sat in her apartment wondering what the hell she was going to do now. She stood up for a second and went into the kitchen to get a drink. She opened the fridge to get a can of pop, when she noticed there was two Pepsis left… she put three in. She didn't have one… her mother didn't have one. The kitchen couldn't be seen from the living room and there were two entrances to the kitchen, through the living room and a narrow hallway that went to her bedroom, which also couldn't be seen from the living room. She peaked her head over the corner and saw that her door was closed. She left it wide open. Someone else was there… Without stopping for anything, she left her apartment, went to the neighbors, where she called the police. *^* Virginia: Caroline's gone and Caitlyn's missing??? Virginia stood there, shocked. Virginia: Oh my God… Bobbie: Virginia, listen to me, everything's going to be all right. Virginia: Oh, my little girl… *looks at Jason* What now? What's being done? Jason: I have some people checking it, the police are working on it… I already know who did it. Bobbie: Who was it? Jason: Moreno. Lucas: That gangster? Jason: Yeah… Everyone just stood there, silent. Jason: Look, I'm sorry, but there is a meeting I have to go to. Bobbie: All right… Virginia, why don't you come with me? Virginia: All right. Bobbie: Jason, call us as soon as you hear anything. Jason: All right. Virginia went with Bobbie and Lucas and Jason went to get ready for the meeting. *^* Manny Ardanowski arrived home to find most of the lights home. He lived there alone, accept for his son Bruce, but he was away at camp. He took out his gun and started looking around. *^* Luke: What are we doing here? Luke and Venus were in the attic of her home. She found the jewelry box and opened it up. Venus: All right, it's in here. She found the compartment and took out the necklace. Venus: Is this the Cassadine necklace? Luke nodded. She closed the jewelry box and stood there, looking at it. She started crying softly. Venus: I was five years old when my mother died. Luke: V… Venus: I was in my room playing with my dolls when I heard this loud scream… I ran out of my room and… *she shivers a little* Luke: V. you don't have to do this… Venus: Yes I do… I ran into my mother’s room and saw this woman sitting next to my mother's bed. She was holding a knife to my mother's throat… she looked at me with the coldest eyes… She asked my mom what she though… if she should kill me too. My mother begged her to spare us both. Then, a man showed up. I knew this man, I can't remember how, but I knew him… He had been around before. He begged the woman not to kill either of us, but right in front of him, she slit my mothers throat. I was going to go to her, see if I could somehow make her better, but he held me back. Blood… blood kept pouring from my mothers cut, and I could see the pain on her face. Helena stood up, my mother laid back on the bed. He told her she couldn't kill me too… Then she said she wouldn't, but he was never to see me again. He promised and she left. He told me goodbye, hugged me and he left too… My father came home later, he demanded to know what happened but I couldn't tell him… Luke: Why not? Man: Because she blocked it out. Luke and Venus were startled to see Manny Ardanowski at the door.
