General Hospital & X-Files Crossover: Mulder’s Port Charles Nightmare. Chapter 1 FBI Headquarters, Agent Mulder’s Office July 1, 1998 It was a typical day for Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Life had gone back to “normal” since the X-Files were re-opened. That is, until Mulder’s cell phone rang early Monday morning. Mulder had been pouring over a couple new cases, deciding which to check out first. But those cases would be put aside after he answered his cell phone. “Mulder.” “Mulder, this is Skinner.” Mulder’s Superior said. “I need to see you and Scully in my office.” The line went dead then, signaling that Skinner hadn’t waited for Mulder to reply. Mulder got up from his desk and headed out his office door, he spotted Agent Scully walking in the hallway then. “Scully, Skinner wants to see us.” Mulder said and the two headed toward their superior’s office. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Port Charles, New York July 1, 1998 We see a yacht on the waterfront. As the camera zooms in for a closer look, Helena Cassadine comes into view. “Is everything in place?” She asks two men who sit across from her at a table. One man lights a cigarette before answering, and as the faces of the two men come into view we recognize the Cigarette Smoking Man and the Well Manicured Man. “Yes.” The Cigarette Smoking Man says before taking a puff off his cigarette. “Everything is in place.” Helena looks toward the Well Manicured Man. “And you’re certain Mulder and Scully think you’re dead?” “Yes Mrs. Cassadine.” The Well Manicured Man replied. “I went through the trap door seconds before the car exploded and dropped into the sewer. Mulder had no knowledge of his existence, so he will naturally assume I am dead.” “Perfect.” Helena leaned back in her chair and let out a cackle befitting the wicked witch of the west. “Soon, I will control the world.” ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ FBI Headquarters, Skinner’s Office July 1, 1998 Skinner looked up from his desk as Mulder and Scully entered the office. “Agents Mulder and Scully, thank you for coming so quickly.” Skinner gestured to the man and woman sitting in a chair in front of his desk. “This is Agents Craig Willmore and Christina Marx. Agents Willmore and Marx this is Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.” He then turned back to Scully and Mulder. “Agents Willmore and Marx will be helping you on your next assignment.” “Which is?” Mulder asked, anxious to find out what the assignment was. As Mulder and Scully took seats next to Willmore and Marx, Skinner handed them each a file folder. Then he held up a photo of a Caucasian blond-haired woman for the agents to see. “This is Katherine Bell. This photo was taken three days ago in Paris, France.” Skinner held up another picture, this one of a headstone. “This photo was taken a week before that of Katherine Bell’s Gravesite in Port Charles New York. Being as Katherine Bell was not a twin, it seems strange for her to be walking around Paris a couple weeks after her death.” Skinner put down the photos and took a deep breath. “I’ve been told to have this matter thoroughly investigated as it is believed the Cassadine’s are involved.” The four agents looked at each other. They had all heard of the Cassadines before, but never dealt with them. Stories of the Cassadines had floated through the FBI since the episode years before of the Ice Princess and how the Cassadine’s had tried to freeze the world. “Do you think they’re trying to take over the world again?” Marx asked Skinner. “We don’t know.” Skinner replied. “What we do know is that Miss Bell was engaged to marry this man.” Skinner holds up another photograph. “Stefan Cassadine. And Helena Cassadine was trying to prevent that marriage.” “This is starting to sound more like an episode of Young and the Restless than a case.” Scully commented. “I know.” Skinner frowned. “Willmore and Marx will be heading to France to try and pick up on Miss Bell’s trail. See if you can find Miss Bell. Mulder and Scully will be in Port Charles watching the Cassadines.” To Be Continued…
