Chapter Four Laura Spencer arrived home a week after Luke had taken Lulu. It had taken her a long time to get things settle down there for Leslie. She didn't want to leave her mother the way she did but Leslie knew it was for the best. Laura had to get things fixed back at Port Charles and she didn't have time to worry about her mother all the time. Laura went from the airport and headed to her house. She started to cry when she saw it was gone. The only thing Luke didn't burn was the shed in the back. Laura walked around the grounds and tried to think about how she could save her marriage after all the lies. Laura didn't know how but she wasn't going to give up even if Luke was. She went to Amy's apartment next and found her sister waiting for her. “I was expecting you days ago,” Amy said, when Laura walked into the house. “I had to get mother settled,” Laura said dropping into the chair. “How is Leslie?” Amy asked. “Fine but as upset as am I. Have you seen my family?” Laura asked. “Luke? Yes and he is a bear. Lucky isn't talking any one and spends most of his time alone. He is going back to school Monday. I'm hoping he will shake out of this depression he seems to be in. I saw Lu and she is upset and confused. Luke has tried to explain things to her, like the rest of us have but it is no use. She wants her mother but Luke isn't backing down at all. He refuses to even talk about letting you see her,” Amy said. “Amy, before I left I got the separation papers from Luke. I am not getting a divorce but I do want my children. I know Lucky isn't going to be ready to talk to me any time soon but Lu is my little girl. I want to see her,” Laura cried. “You'd better get a lawyer. Luke has Justus in his corner and you better get a good lawyer,” Amy warned. “I have someone in mind. If he will even see me,” Laura said. “You are not talking about Scotty?” Amy asked. “Yes,” Laura said. “You are nuts. Stefan is one thing but Scotty and Luke are like oil and water,” Amy said. “I only slept with Stefan on the island. I never saw him again until Lulu got sick. I swear,” Laura said. “I believe you but Laura, why didn't you tell him?” Amy said. “I was afraid of what he might do,” Laura said. “You found out the hard way. Laura, he didn't blow up. He still hasn't. You better stay clear for a long time. Let Scotty and Justus play go between. If you want Lu or even a chance with Lucky or Luke, do us a favor and avoid Luke,” Amy warned. “I know he's mad. He pointed a gun at me. I haven't seen those eyes in years. He could have killed me, Stefan and himself without a second thought. Lucky for us, Sonny showed up,” Laura said. “Are you going to tell Scotty that?” Amy asked. “Yes but we are not going to use it. I did enough damage the way it is all ready,” Laura said getting sleepy. “Come on. I have to go to work and you can use my bed. I have a guestroom but I have to clean it up before it is livable,” Amy said. “I will do it later. Thanks, Amy,” Laura said and went to rest for awhile. Laura got up about three and cleaned up the guestroom while she waited for Scotty to return her call. He called back about five and said they could talk tomorrow at two. Laura agreed to meet him at the Grill and she went back to cleaning. The room was livable by the time Amy showed up and the two sisters ordered pizza and talked girl talk. Amy held Laura as she cried. They went to bed late and didn't get up until noon. A little before two, Laura went to meet Scotty. Scotty was all ready there when she arrived and got up from the table as she walked toward the table. “I am sorry about you and Luke,” Scotty said. “I bet,” Laura said regretting that remark. “I'm sorry. I didn't mean it.” “I know. You said on the phone you don't want a divorce, so then what do you want?” Scotty asked. “My daughter and son, if he'll let me. I will not force the issue but Luke isn't letting me near Lulu and I want to see her,” Laura said starting to cry. “Ok, I want you to do few things for me. Get a place to stay, where you and your children can live. Get a job or prove you can at least take care of them and lastly, I will deal with Luke. You stay away. You want him back, then let him calm down. You and I know what he is like when he is mad,” Scotty warned. “I will not use that against him,” Laura said. “I didn't think you would. I just thought I would remind you. Give him a chance to cool off this time,” Scotty said. They ate and talked about everything and she handed him the papers that Justus sent her. Scotty said he would see what he could do and he would call her later. Laura went to get a paper to find a job. She hadn't worked much outside the home but she was willing to do just about anything. She talked to Amy and her place had a little room that would be perfect for Lulu. Laura told Scotty that she wasn't going to force Lucky into doing anything he didn't want to do. They would start with Lulu first.
