-Chapter-4-"Evil Scheme & Confusing Situation" Alexis had not done so much speed-reading in her life. This woman was supposed to be her, but she wasn't. It was a different Alexis Davis… or rather a different name since she was married. Alexis put the book down when she arrived at the last written page. She had tried to memorize every word she came across because it could be vitally important. She had an idea of what might be going on and if she were right, she had better know what to do otherwise everything would be messed up. Alexis got off the edge of the bed and started putting everything back together. If the diary was correct, she had better get ready for tonight. ~"~ Brenda opened the door and entered her boss' room, unannounced. Brenda: It's done, Ms. Scorpio. Dr. Burt is dead. Robin turned in her seat and looked at Brenda. A devilish grin spread across her face. Robin: Job well done, Brenda. Brenda: Is it time for us to move onto the next phase of your plan? Robin: No, no. First, we need to make an impression for the Presidents of Ardanowski Enterprises. One they will never forget. Brenda smiled, catching on to what her leader was saying. Brenda: An impression they'll never forget. I'll get right on it. Robin: Don't kill anyone, everyone must be left alive. You might consider taking one of them "hostage". Brenda: You don't mean… Robin: Yes. The Cassadine. Brenda smiled mischievously. Robin: Is it understood what you are to do? Brenda: Don't worry, I'll get as creative for this as I can. Robin and Brenda smiled sinisterly (you're probably thinking they did that, but no, they only smiled mischievously and grinned devilishly… there's a difference!). Brenda left Robin's office and put the wheels of her mind in motion. Brenda was walking when this one worthless accountant came up to her. Accountant: Brenda Barret, I've been wondering if you would like to go out on a date. I'm rich, handsome and a lot of stuff. Brenda laughed in his face. Brenda: Sorry, but I don't go after men who because of cuteness or money. I'm an independent working woman with a spine, so back off. With this, Brenda picked him up and threw him about ten feet and laughed again. Then she walked away. (SORRY! Couldn’t resist.) ~"~ Venus looked through her entire closet. It was impossible. How could she be a rich, successful woman and still not have a decent thing to wear to a formal dinner. V. couldn't help but notice all the lingerie. What was she, some kind of sex maniac here? Finally, she found this black dress. It would have to do. V. exited the gigantic, walk-in closet to see Nikolas Cassadine in a black robe standing in the doorway of her bedroom. Nikolas: You look beautiful. V. blushed. V: Thank you. Shouldn't you be ready? Nikolas: I thought we could spend some time together before we left. Nikolas walked up to her. V. was startled by the kiss. What was she going to do? She couldn't sleep with him, it would be wrong, unethical! On the other hand, he really was a good kisser. Then, she pulled herself away. V: I don't think we should, now. Nikolas: What's wrong? V. wondered what kind of explanation she could offer. V: Just… because. Nikolas: All right, but promise that when we get home… V. kept wondering what she could possibly say. Yeah, sure? No, because I'm not really this V. person you know and your really a 17 year-old kid who I barely know, but no one here seems to realize that? Tony Jones was her business partner, Nikolas Cassadine was her lover and Mac Scorpio was her secretary. This was NOT right. V: We'll see. V. put on the best smile she could. Hopefully, before the night was over, she would be able to find out what's going on. ^*^ Lizzie walked to the edge of the docks and could not believe the view of Spoon Island from here. It was still Spoon Island, but it was really more of a peninsula now. Wyndemere seemed to have a heavenly glow, instead of the usual, rustic, Dracula-lives-here look. Lizzie: What's next? Lizzie turned to see Emily running from nowhere. Emily: Lizzie? Lizzie: Emily? They both stood there, in silence. Emily: Lizzie, something is wrong here. Lizzie: I know. Emily: Do you, or have you gone through some sort of complete personality 180 too? Lizzie: YES! I mean, no, but I know exactly what you mean. Emily: Thank God, I thought I was going insane! Lizzie: My sister knows, too. And Lucky's dad. Emily: I saw Lucky earlier while I was running around. He's a nerd now. Lizzie: Oh crap, I was hoping he'd be normal and not end up like the rest of Freaksville. Emily: I know. Lizzie, what are we going to do? Lizzie: We have to go back to Luke's… well, okay, the church and meet Sarah and Luke there. Hopefully, they've found something useful out. Emily: Okay… I'm really scared. Lizzie: Me too, Em. Me too. Both girls took off for the church, formally known as Luke's. ~"~ Tony: Hi, honey, I'm home! Alexis heard Tony and took a deep breath. She had to act as naturally as possible… but what was natural here? Alexis walked out and smile. Alexis: Hello… honey. Alexis looked at Tony up and down. He looked a little different. A little thinner, a black suit, but still had that shaved look. She wondered why that was. The guy she knew went psycho and did it, but what about him? Tony put his coat up and looked at her. Tony: Is something wrong? Alexis: No, nothing. Tony: Well, you look uneasy about something. Alexis: I guess I'm just nervous about tonight. Tony: Why? You've met V. and that annoying brat at her arm a million times. Alexis: Of course, but tonight… What about tonight? She could have slapped herself on the forehead repeatedly for not having that part memorized. What was tonight about? Some big business deal. Tony: So, the deal does make you nervous. I wish you would have told me. Alexis had no idea what it was, but decided just to go with it. Alexis: Yeah, yes, I am nervous. Tony: Well, there's no reason to be. I know the whole frost mechanics thing is a little scary, but it's really harmless. Frost mechanics? What the heck was that? Then Alexis remembered what "she" had written in the diary. Stupid freezy deal. Obviously, she didn't really like it. Alexis: Right. I just don't really find it… all that… comforting. Yes, comforting. That should be a good word to describe it. At least, she hoped it was otherwise she was getting herself into the ugly situation deeper. Tony: We can't cut out on this deal. Hopefully Dr. Burt and his assistant will be able to meet us. Alexis looked at him, confused. Tony: Dr. Burt is the man who's behind the frost mechanics plan. Ardanowski would like him to fax us the information, but he keeps it in his head. The only way we'll find out how to process the deal is through him. Alexis nodded, pretending she understood. Tony: Better get ready for the dinner or we'll be late. Alexis: Right. Alexis smiled and walked into their bedroom to find something to wear. ~"~ Brenda entered the restaurant. She had her hair tied up in a bow and stuffed under a black top hat, her visible hair covered with gray hairspray. She had black, thick-framed glasses and what appeared to be a black, with some gray, goatee. She had on a dark suit and held a cane. She grinned as she waited to be seated. With all her face makeup on, no one would recognize her. People rarely ever did recognize her face. A waiter came and seated her. Soon, she would have everything taken care of.
