Chapter 4

Nikolas pulled into the Spencer's driveway. He walked up the steps and mustered 
up his courage. Then he knocked on the door. The door opens and Laura is 
standing there. 

Laura: "Nikolas!" Nikolas was hoping she wouldn't answer. 

Nik: "Laura. Listen, I have to tell you something…" 

Laura: "Whatever you have to say can wait! I'm just so glad to see you! Please 
come in…" 

Nik: "No… You NEED to hear this, Laura." Laura nods, and Nikolas continues "I 
was at Elizabeth Webber's house, and Lucky was there, sleeping. He didn't look 
good at all so Liz took his temperature, and it was around 105 or something, so 
we called an ambulance because he wouldn't wake up. He's at the hospital now." 
Nikolas looks up at Laura who has her mouth covered with her hand. 

Laura: "Oh my god! My poor baby!" She turns towards the house and yells "LUKE!!" 

At the sound of his name, Luke strolls onto the porch: "What’s up, babe?" Luke 
catches a glimpse of Nikolas and growls. "Cassadine, what do you want?" 

Laura: "Luke! Now isn't the time! Lucky's been taken to the hospital! We have to 
get there!" Luke looks at Laura's face, its tear stained. 

Luke: "Let me go get Lulu and Lesley."

Liz ran after the paramedics as they took Lucky into a cubicle and started to 
work on him. She sat down and waited for Nikolas, she needed him now. A couple 
minutes later Laura, Luke, Lulu, Lesley and Nikolas come running into the 
hospital. Nikolas takes Lulu and Lesley and goes sits down by Liz, while Laura 
and Luke find out what’s going on. Luke stops a nurse. 

Luke: "Hi, what’s going on with my boy? His name is Lucky Spencer…" 

Nurse: "Lets see… running a high fever, unconscious, doctors are trying to 
stabilize him, he's in emergency 3." 

Luke and Laura thank the nurse and leave to emergency 3.

Nikolas handed Lulu to Lesley, and put his arm around Liz, hoping she was ok. 

Nik: "How are you doing?" 

Liz: "God, he looked so bad… so pale…" Liz stifles a sob and looks up at 
Nikolas, who is fighting the urge to kiss her tears away. 'What's going on with 
you today, Cassadine?' he thinks, first he finds concern for his brother, now he 
wants to kiss Liz, his best friend. Liz looks at Nikolas with a concerned 
expression on her face. 

Liz: "Nikolas… Hey Cassadine, are you listening? Nikolas!" 

Nik: "Oh yeah… yeah what did you say?" 

Liz: "I said I am scared for Lucky." Nikolas nods then turns his head away.

After a few silent seconds, Nikolas turns back to Liz, lifts her head, and 
kisses her.
