Nikita
- What do we really know about her? We know she feels her mother chose her boyfriend over her and that she had been on the streets since a very young age, but her past has never really been detailed for us. (Unless it's in the movie which I have never seen.) Having been condemned for a crime she was witness too and tried to stop, she had been thrown in jail, and somehow turned over to Section 1. How do they do that exactly? A drug that feigns death is my best guess. If anyone knows drop me a line... Will Nikita ever return to true freedom? After her short lived escape from the Section we can stand to wonder if she will ever really acquire freedom. And... how does she really feel about Michael?
Michael
- He is a true enigma in this show. (Although I must say Operations has even him beat.) How will he tie into Nikitas life? Is the Section ultimately resposible for Simones death because of her relationship with Michael? Is Nikita on the same path? Her life is usually hanging in the balance. How can he keep protecting her? Can they acheive a life outside of the Section? Does he even want one? Where is his son? Dead or just missing?
Operations- Now... this one here... He is ruthless, cunning, evil in my own opinion, and we know next to nothing about him. He is the section. We do know that he has a son running around out there that is trying to find him. A son that is as cunning as the man that spawned him, he came dangerously close to finding his father and the place where the path ends. How long has he been with the Section? If he has all of this exquisite knowledge why does he not disappear himself? And why is he so damn loyal to the Section holds him hostage, or is he trying to stay useful for as long as possible so he himself is not "cancelled". Besides, I want to know what's up with him and Madeline.
There are more characters in the on going saga of our favorite operatives, but these are our mainstay. They are those that the story and plot will continue to center around until a new agent arrives..... can we say.... Jurgen? (Gone now, but not forgotten.)
Madeline- Madeline is, perhaps, the most elusive of the agents at Section 1. Always with a secret agenda, Madeline steps back, assesses the agents (and captives) and uses her keen insight to pry deeply into their minds. Like Nikita she is cunning and beautiful and just as deadly. She seems to be Operations right hand woman, by his side to help him make vital decisions including who lives and dies. I believe she's more ruthless that Ops himself. Does she have any respect for human life when she appears to think everyone is expendable?
Walter- Walter is the weapons specialist for the Section with a "special" interest in Nikita. He is in charge of make sure their weapons and explosives are accurate and efficient for the missions at hand. His job includes every facet of the away teams right on down to counting the number of bullets fired when they get back. Could he ever be as reliable as he was before now that Ops cancelled the one thing that kept him going?
Birkoff- Birkoff is the sections "super hacker".With the ability to break into almost any computer system in the world, (as well as protect the system for the Section), he is one of the most vital members of the team. We know nothing about him. His age, background or how he became a part of the section remains a mystery to us. My educated guess is high tech computer freud. Government computers and such. He is also a crucial link for the away team with access to architectural diagrams and communication links. A seemingly "pro-section character" that is very good at going behind the sections back when it's convenient (or he's threatened).
