SS NEPTUNE II
A DUEL TO THE DEATH?: Holding the gun on Cole, Phillip told Cole that Francesca still loves him, regardless of everything he has done to make her forget him. Cole disarmed Phillip, who picked up a fencing foil and held it on him. Cole grabbed the other foil, and they dueled.
Meanwhile, Caitlin went to Phillip and Francesca's stateroom, where she discovered Francesca bound and gagged on the bed. Francesca stated that Phillip was going to kill Cole. They rushed off to rescue him. Caitlin distracted Kurt, allowing Francesca to knock him out with a wine bottle. They burst into the room where Cole and Phillip were, and Phillip took advantage of the interruption to disarm Cole.
Phillip explained to Caitlin that Francesca was obsessed with Cole, and that he needed to kill Cole to make her forget him. He believed that watching Cole die a slow, painful death would show Francesca the pain that he has been living with for five years. He ordered Cole to say farewell to the love of his life and asked him which one it was -- Francesca or Caitlin.
A DRINK BEFORE PASSING OUT COLD!: Casey passed on having any alcohol, since he was on duty as a lifeguard. When Sara took a sip of her wine and then passed out, Melinda pretended to be upset. Casey looked in Melinda's purse and found the valium. Just as he was about to
take Sara out of the room, he grew weak, and realized that she drugged his water, as well. Melinda undressed an unconscious Casey and Sara and took pictures of them in bed together.
MOTHER AND DAUGHTER CONFRONTATION: Emily told Sean that she hasn't seen her mother in over a year. Bette was shocked to hear that Emily had been in town over a month. Emily said that her friends always loved Bette, because she always let them play with her jewelery, not costume jewelery, the real stuff. Bette explained that she did it because she loved Emily. Emily insisted that she would have preferred it if Bette had been a "real" mother -- baking brownies, etc.
Bette said that she invited Emily to go on vacations with her, and realized that Emily wasn't too busy, she just didn't want to go. Bette offered to try to make a clean start, but Emily declared that it was way too late for that. Emily told Bette that she went to see Bette at the paper, but they told her that Bette is always out all night. Bette tried to explain that it's just her job. Emily never wanted to interfere with Bette and her men. Bette insisted that no man would ever be as important as her daughter, but Emily didn't believe it.
Emily commented that Bette was great in a crisis, but she was not good at sticking around for the long haul. After Emily stormed off, Sean said that Emily just needed some time to calm down. Bette asked him why she never saw how much she has been hurting Emily, and he hugged her. Later, Bette and Sean watched Amy and Brad mess up her dress and leaped to her defense. Bette promised that no one would ever hurt Emily again.
GABI AND TWO BROTHERS: Gabi guessed, correctly, that what Antonio wanted to tell her has to do with Francesca and Phillip. Antonio insisted that he couldn't talk to her about it on the ship. He promised to talk to her about it in Sunset Beach, on the condition that she never repeated to anyone what he told her. Later, Gabi gave Ricardo a first edition of a famous book on ships. The captain commented that Ricardo's wife really knows how to treat her husband. He was embarrassed to realize that Ricardo and Gabi weren't married. Gabi and Ricardo agreed to meet out on
deck.
SHOCKING DISCOVERY: Radio communication was finally restored. The ship received the warning from the seismologists about the wave, which
a crewmember passed on to the captain. Concerned about the warning, Ricardo followed the captain, where he overheard the captain spot the tidal wave coming on the radar. Ricardo rushed out to the deck to rescue Gabi.
THE TIDAL WAVE HIT!: Casey and Sara rolled off the bed onto the floor... Phillip let go of Cole... Ricardo just reached Gabi as the tidal wave hit.
