FRIDAY JUNE 26, 1998

THE NEW CABIN: Casey called Sara, who hadn't heard from Meg. He was reluctant to tell her that Meg was in danger over the phone, so he promised to tell her what was up when he returned to Sunset Beach.

SUNSET BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT: Antonio jumped onto the guard and knocked him over so he couldn't shoot Ben, who was fleeing. Ben got into Gabi's car and took off. Meanwhile, Antonio and Gabi were arrested for helping the prisoner escape and put into lockup together. When Casey questioned Sara about the picture of Ben and Derek, she realized that Meg was in danger. Meanwhile, Antonio and Gabi tried to explain to Ricardo why they helped Ben escape. Diane was brought in, and revealed that "Steele" kept saying that he was Ben Evans. Ricardo realized that "Steele" may have been Ben after all, and in that case, Meg must have been with Derek. However, he didn't really believe that Ben was telling the truth until Diane informed them that "Steele" was dead when he came in.

The police found Gabi's car, and Ricardo used that to find the location of the old cabin. He and Casey left to go rescue Meg. Meanwhile, just as Ben was about to get to the cabin, the car overheated.

THE OLD CABIN: Derek began strangling Meg, but stopped. He announced that he couldn't kill her, since he loves her. Meg was stunned by Derek's declaration of love. He revealed that he followed her back to Sunset Beach to kill her, but she won him over with her constant support. When he asked her to leave with him, so that they could be together, the way they were meant to be, she agreed.

Derek pulled Meg close to him, and she took the opportunity to hit him over the head with the wrench! Unfortunately, she didn't knock him out. Meg then temporarily disabled Derek by throwing "Ben's" ashes into his face. Once Derek recovered, he grabbed a knife. As he was about to kill Meg, Ben arrived, surprising both Meg and Derek.

RICHARDS HOUSE: Annie revealed that she used to think that Ben would turn out to be her hero, but that Gregory was. Gregory expressed his doubts. She reminded him of how he helped cover her embarrassment when Del abandoned her during her college graduation party for a rendezvous with Olivia by asking her to dance with him. She offered him an ultimatum, declaring if she walked out the door, she'd never be back.

Annie told Gregory that she knows that she can make him happy, and he left the room. Annie fantasized that she was Cinderella, and since she didn't marry Gregory in time, Olivia would get her inheritance. Just then, the music they danced to at Annie's graduation party came from Gregory's study, and he asked her to dance with him again. While they were dancing, Gregory proposed! We returned to the chess fantasy, but this time Annie took Olivia's king, and won the game.

Gregory announced that their wedding would be the social event of the fall, but Annie claimed that she always wanted to be a June bride. At first, Gregory thought she was talking about waiting a year, but she let him know she meant this June. When Gregory pointed out that it was nearly midnight on June 30, she suggested that they fly to Las Vegas and get married there!

OLIVIA'S HOUSE: AJ showed Olivia the pictures of Trey, but she didn't remember anything. The pictures did, however, remind her of how she'd planned to share the experience of being a grandparent with Gregory. AJ promised to help Olivia in any way he can, but they were interrupted by the arrival of Bette.

To help her friend get over the divorce, Bette bought a dartboard for Olivia and pinned a picture of Gregory to it. But Olivia couldn't bring herself to throw any darts at it. After Bette was called away for an assignment, AJ threw the first dart, but Olivia still couldn't bring herself to throw a dart. He realized that the divorce was much harder on her than she cared to let on.

Olivia worked herself up by reminding herself of the things that he did. However, she threw the dart, not at Gregory's photo, but at an image of Annie that she pictured in her mind. The sound of the dart hitting the dartboard sounded like the tranquilizing dart hitting the doorframe of the cabin, which made Olivia remember where she was when she lost the baby!

JAVA WEB: Emily thanked Sean for giving up his spot as a trainee for her, and he said that he intended to spend a lot of time at the beach. Emily wondered if he ever rebelled. He responded that he only did it once; he grew up respectable. When Sean asked about Emily's family, she informed him that her family is a typical, boring, Connecticut family. Sean queried why she moved to Sunset Beach, but she dodged the question.

Bette offered Sean comfort regarding Gregory and Olivia's divorce, which completely stunned him, since he didn't know that they'd gotten divorced. When Sean went to introduce Bette to Emily, Emily had disappeared.
