INN AT SUNSET BEACH: Cole returned to report to AJ that they hadn't found the Madonna. Caitlin showed up and kissed Cole, saying she missed him last night. Meanwhile, Francesca came out of the shower and was greeted by AJ. The barely dressed Francesca headed out to see the happy couple. AJ tried to stop her, but she burst into the room. Francesca thanked Caitlin for stepping aside and letting Cole help her with the jewel crisis. AJ commended Francesca's performance, but doubted her genuineness. Later, Caitlin returned and reminded Francesca she was leaving town after this. Francesca promised she would be back if she finds out that Caitlin has done anything to make Cole unhappy.

CHURCH: A fisherman confessed to Antonio that he saw a man on a boat "wrestling with the air" and watched him go overboard -- and it was Juan Sanchez. The fisherman also said that the man threw a fishing crate with a picture of a rose on it overboard before he went over himself. Antonio headed out.

LIFEGUARD HEADQUARTERS: Brad was distracted by a pretty woman who showed up for swimming lessons, and he blew off Father Antonio when he came in asking about the crate.

SURF CENTRAL: Michael agreed that Jimmy could have the contents of the crate, so they opened it. The crate contained some kind of strange sheet-metal statue. It's obvious that the metal contains something else, but Jimmy wasn't able to open it himself. He decided to hide it behind the Christmas tree. He almost showed the "statue" to Antonio, but then realized that he was running late for basketball practice. As Antonio wondered what to do next, a scorpion came out of the statue's mouth!

SHOCK WAVE: An excited Meg burst in to announce Maria could file for divorce and she and Ben were going to get married! Casey wondered if things were moving a bit too fast and sensed that something wasn't right. Sara witnessed another close moment between Casey and Meg, and Tim was there to pour salt on the wound. Sara told Tim that Maria was planning to file for a divorce, and that since Ben and Meg were going on with their lives, she wanted to go on with hers as well. Outside, Tim approached Meg and said he wanted the best for her. She urged him to let it go; what they had was over for good. Later, Tim continued to undermine Sara.

BEN'S HOUSE: Maria was content that her plan was working, but Ben confronted her about the fact that it was so easy for her to let everything between them go. Maria thought he should be grateful, but Ben insisted she didn't sound like the Maria he knew. He believed that Maria was too detached for him to believe that she really regained her memory. Later, Meg overheard Ben accusing Maria of faking the recovery of her memories.
