LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT: Sean arrived to stop Emily from leaving just as she got on the plane. When the security guard stopped Sean from going onto the plane, Bette and Leo created a diversion. Sean barely made it onto the plane before the security guard dragged him away, so all he could do was call out to Emily that there had been a terrible mistake.
When Emily's plane took off, Bette blamed Sean for driving her away. They made up soon after. Just as the security guard was arresting Sean, Emily came through the door. Sean explained that he didn't send the "Dear Jane" letter. Leo convinced the guard not to arrest Sean. Sean and Emily shared a happy reunion.
SURF CENTRAL: When Jimmy said that he misses Michael, Virginia promised that Michael would be back soon. She covered for herself by saying that Michael thinks of Jimmy as a son, and he would never walk away from him.
Tyus walked in on Virginia considering the timing of Vanessa's pregnancy. When he asked her why she had said his and Vanessa's names together, she replied that she was planning a combined birthday party for them. He told her that he came over to check up on Vanessa. Virginia informed him that she moved out and suggested that they go to see her together.
VANESSA AND MICHAEL'S APARTMENT: Michael worried, once again, about his sterility. Vanessa reassured him that their love is all they need. Virginia and Tyus arrived. In the course of their conversation, Virginia reminded them Tyus and Vanessa how close they became when they were working together on the Martin's Syndrome cure. This caused Vanessa to remember the time they woke up partially clothed.
THE BEACH: Meg saw Ben and Maria by the swings, and wondered why they were there when Ben said he would be visiting her at Cedar Oaks. She walked closer and heard Maria say that she loves Ben. Meg ran away and didn't hear Maria admit that she remembered telling Ben that she loves him, but that she couldn't remember the feeling. She was frustrated that her memories were dangling in front of her and she couldn't reach them. He asked her to come back to his house, so that they could call Cedar Oaks and tell them where she was.
While she was fantasizing about kissing Casey, Sara actually did kiss him. She apologized profusely and told him to just forget about it. He said that he couldn't just forget about the kiss, and then he kissed her. They agreed that it was time to discuss their relationship. Before Casey could tell her what he wanted to say, he saw Meg running away from Ben and Maria, and chased after her.
LIFEGUARD HEADQUARTERS: Meg finally admitted that she is jealous of Ben and Maria's past together. She told Sara and Casey that she heard Maria say that she loves Ben. They reassured Meg that she's the love of Ben's life. Figuring that Ben had to have taken Maria back to Cedar Oaks by then, she went home.
BEN'S HOUSE: Maria told Ben how she felt the first time she was in his house. Ben explained that he built the house for her, and that it hasn't changed very much since she lived there. He mentioned the studio, and she wanted to go up there in hopes of remembering something else.
Ben took Maria up to the studio. At first she was enchanted, but then she became terrified and bolted. When Ben stopped her, she asked him if something bad happened in the studio. But then she said that she was just overwhelmed by the quantity of memories that she's missing. She wanted him to leave her alone in the studio for a while. He went downstairs, telling her that if she gets scared, just to call out for him.
Maria found a book of poems that she gave Ben as a gift, and she recited one of the poems in it from memory. Just as Ben got off the phone with Dr. Estrada, Maria came downstairs and kissed him. Meg walked in on the kiss.
