MADAME CARMEN'S SHOP: Carmen, holding Maria's wedding
dress in her hands, told Ricardo that the feeling that that Maria is close was
getting stronger. Ricardo finally got around to his reason for coming to see
her -- inviting her to a family dinner. At first she thought he was talking about
dinner just including herself and her two sons, but Ricardo told her that Gabi
was coming, too.
When Gabi arrived, Carmen told her that a family dinner including Gabi
would be a wonderful idea. Gabi asked about the wedding dress before she
realized that it was Maria's dress. Carmen accepted her comment for what it
was, an effort to be friendly. After Gabi left, Ricardo reminded his mother
that she's the reason that he and Gabi are together. She did, after all, predict
that Gabi would find true love in Sunset Beach.
TIM'S HOTEL ROOM: Meg confronted Annie and Tim about Annie's
statement that Maria's alive. Annie admitted that Maria is alive, which made
Tim very nervous. Annie then said that Maria is alive in the memory of
everyone she ever knew, and that Meg will never live up to Maria. That
didn't frighten Meg. She told Annie that she and Ben were meant to be
together and that nothing Annie says will ever be able to change that. She
insisted that that Maria isn't a threat to her, and she never will be.
Annie left the room in a huff. Tim told Meg that he was going to chew Annie
out for talking to Meg that way and followed her. When they were alone in
the hallway, he congratulated Annie on her save. Later, Meg told Tim that
her life is too good to worry about Annie now. She thanked Tim for the
wedding present.
THE BEACH: Ben was certain that the woman he saw was Maria, but too
many people were in the way, and by the time Ben got to the swings, Maria
was gone. Soon after, Ben thought he saw Maria standing by the water, but
it turned out to be someone else. This convinced him that every woman he
saw was starting to look like Maria to him. He believed that this was the
result of keeping Maria's portrait in his living room, and decided to give the
painting to Carmen right away. Meanwhile, Maria stood under the pier,
staring at the water. When a passing surfer encouraged her to get into the
water, she bolted.
INN AT SUNSET BEACH: Olivia asked Cole to leave the room so that
she could talk to Francesca privately, but Cole refused to leave. When
Francesca acted like she and Cole were having an affair, Olivia didn't buy it.
Cole would never cheat on Caitlin so blatantly, and certainly not with
Francesca's type of woman. Cole was grateful for his mother-in-law's faith
in him. Olivia warned Cole not to let whatever Francesca had on him to hurt
Caitlin. After Olivia left, Francesca asked Cole why he didn't tell her that he
had slept with Olivia.
CEDAR OAKS: Dr. Estrada explained to Meg that she wouldn't let Ben
run the ad with "Dana's" picture on TV because she was remembering things
on her own, and she should be allowed to continue to remember at her own
pace. Maria began to wonder if maybe she couldn't remember because she
didn't want to remember. "Dana" had another memory flash when Meg
mentioned that she and Ben plan to go to Venice for their honeymoon.
Gabi came to pick up Meg to go shopping. They invited "Dana" to go with
them, but she couldn't go because she had a therapy session scheduled.
After they left the room, Meg told Gabi that she'd do anything to help
"Dana" remember, so Gabi suggested that Meg take "Dana" to see Carmen.
A WAREHOUSE: Annie showed up to meet Olivia, after getting a phone
call from Olivia asking her to meet her there.
MADAME CARMEN'S SHOP: Ben arrived with the painting while
Carmen, Antonio and Ricardo were arguing about Carmen's feelings about
Maria. Carmen accepted the painting gratefully, but Ricardo was convinced
that the painting would increase Carmen's obsession with Maria. After
Ricardo and Antonio left, Carmen told Ben that giving away Maria's things
wouldn't make him stop loving her. Alone, Carmen said to herself that Maria
wouldn't go away, no matter what Ben does.
SURF CENTRAL: Antonio saw the pictures on his desk and noticed that
the picture of the Madonna is gone. He realized that Francesca took it.
