VANESSA AND MICHAEL'S APARTMENT: Michael surprised Vanessa by making her breakfast: waffles. A nauseous Vanessa got sick, and later explained that the smell of maple syrup makes her ill.
Tyus announced that he's leaving Sunset Beach for good, because he was offered his dream job due to his work with Martin's Syndrome. After Michael left to go visit Jimmy at Surf Central, Vanessa asked Tyus if he was leaving town because of her. He replied that if there was anything to keep him in Sunset Beach, he'd never leave. Vanessa told Tyus that she loves him as a friend. Vanessa was depressed that Tyus is leaving.
SURF CENTRAL: Gabi and Ricardo witnessed Antonio losing his temper with the contractor. (Antonio was demanding to know when the renovations at the mission would be finished, so he could move out of Surf Central). After Ricardo left to visit Carmen, Gabi asked Antonio to help her plan a surprise birthday party for Ricardo. Antonio responded that he will be too busy to help her this week. This behavior reminded her of how jumpy Antonio has been around her lately. When Antonio came downstairs to leave for the mission, she stopped him and asked him what has been going on with between them.
Michael told Virginia that Vanessa had been sick to her stomach that morning. When he told her that Tyus was planning to leaving town, Virginia decided that if he knew that Vanessa was pregnant, he wouldn't leave town. In an effort to get a urine sample so that she could see if Vanessa was pregnant, she called the Sentinel pretending to be an FBI agent, asking if they have a drug testing policy. When the woman replied that they don't, Virginia offered to run drug tests on the Sentinel's employees.
MADAME CARMEN'S SHOP: Ricardo apologized for not believing his mother all of the times that she told him that Maria was still alive. Carmen told her son that she wanted to patch things up with him, so she offered him a necklace and crucifix that her mother had given to her for him to give to Gabi. Later, Madame Carmen did the Tarot cards and saw there was another man in Gabi's life.
BEN'S HOUSE: Ben refused to have Meg sacrifice even more by having Maria live with them. He wanted them to go to the hospital to discuss alternatives with Dr. Estrada.
CEDAR OAKS: Tim urged Maria not give up on Ben without a fight, but she insisted she wouldn't interfere with Meg and Ben's relationship. When Maria and Tim's confrontation accelerated, Ben arrived. He punched Tim to make him stop pestering Maria, frightening Maria in the process.
Ben demanded to know why Tim was allowed near Maria. Dr. Estrada responded that they should speak about this subject privately, so Ben and Meg went with her to her office. She told them that if Maria were to move in with them, they would be able to protect her from people like Tim. Ben asked Meg to leave the room. He told Dr. Estrada that he's not concerned with Maria, that Meg was his wife, and so she was his first concern. Dr. Estrada corrected Ben that Maria, not Meg, was his wife.
Meg overheard Tim talking to Maria about how much he still loves Meg. Maria tried to explain that what Tim had in mind was wrong. Tim admitted that he envied Maria her amnesia, because he wished that he could just forget his feelings for Meg. When Maria said that she has to let Ben go, even though it may mean that she may never get her memory back, Meg returned to Dr. Estrada's office. She begged Ben to go along with Dr. Estrada's plan. When Ben gave in, Maria arrived and declared, "I won't do it!"
