Tad pressed Dixie until she finally blurted out that she was pregnant. A stunned Tad was called away on emergency business while an understanding Jake consoled Dixie. Later, Dixie urged Tad to try and be happy about the baby, but Tad wanted Dixie to be examined by Dr. Clader.

Erica was relieved when the doctor assured her the surgery had been a success. David kissed Erica passionately and she responded in kind. David then asked Erica to spend some time with him in Brazil.

While on their way to see Erica, Palmer and Vanessa were kidnapped by Adrian's assistant. Adrian told an upset Opal that Palmer had managed to outsmart his assistant. Adrian hugged Opal and told her he would make sure Palmer didn't hurt her again. Later, Opal was thrilled when Becca told her she would be staying in Pine Valley.

Palmer found Erica and played on her insecurities in order to convince her to return to Pine Valley. Erica left a note for David explaining her decision to leave Brazil, but a manipulative Vanessa pocketed the note before David saw it.
