CHAPTER 1
Amanda is sitting at the Cory Mansion thinking about what Cameron had said earlier about him not being an angel, and for her to grow up. All he can do is love her and if that's not enough, well then there's nothing more he can do. She remembers Evan and Sam, and thinks everyone deserves a second chance. She realized that right. She loves Cameron, and has to try to forgive him for what happened in Boca Lynda, and move on. She decides to plan a romantic surprise for her and Cameron, and calls him to ask him over. She explains that he needs to dress up, because she has something very important to tell him, and hangs up. Shocked she would even want him to come over, he got all dressed up, and headed over to the Cory House. When he arrived, Amanda was all dressed up, in a black slip dress, with her hair done up in a french twist. As she opens the door, his breath got caught up in his throat.
"Oh my, you are so beautiful" Amanda just smiles, and takes Cameron's arm. She leads him a candle lit table outside, with flowers, candles, and music. "Would you like to dance?" she asks Cameron takes Amanda's hand, and places one around her waist. He brings her close, and drinks in her beauty. Wanting to savior the moment, but he had to know, what was going on so, he pulls away. "Amanda, as much as I love having you back in my arms, I must ask, why am I here? Why did you want me to come?" "I realized how wrong I have been. Your right. Everyone deserves a second chance. I don't know if I can forget what happened with Josie just yet, but I love you, and I want to forgive you" Cameron was overwhelmed with happiness, he picked Amanda up and spun her around and kissed her ever so gently, but with every once of his being. A few tears slipped down his cheeck, and Amanda gently whipped them away with the back of her hand. Cameron grabbed a hold of her hand, and kissed it gently. The 2 begin to dance again, to "Because You Loved Me" and swayed so perfectly together. When the music ended, Cameron and Amanda sit down, and Cameron cannot take his eyes off of Amanda. Realizing Amanda is blushing, Cameron tries to explain "I just can't get over how happy I am. You are willing to try and forgive me. I can't tell you how much this means to me. I love you. I've loved you since the first time we met in the park. There is just something about you, that draws me to you. Your everything I've ever wanted or needed."
"Oh Cameron" Amanda begins softly "I love you too." With that she goes over and sits on his lap and kisses him on his neck, cheeck and up to his lips. "Listen Amanda" Cameron interrupts, and pulls away a bit "There is some things you need to know." "About what?" Amanda questions. But before he can finish, his cell phone rings. Amanda gets up, and sits back down at her own chair. "Hello?" "Cameron? This is Josie" "Yes" "Look we need to talk" "This is NOT a good time" "Well, make it a good time. There is something I need to tell you." "What? What could be so important it can't wait?" "I think I'm pregnant" The color from Cameron's face drains, and he mutters "Oh God no" With a concerned and totally clueless Amanda looking on.
CHAPTER 2
As Cameron sits with the phone in his hand, he gets up, and starts to pace around, when Josie breaks in. "Cameron, Cameron are you still there?" "Yeah, I'm here. Listen are you positive?" "Well not 100% but a women usually knows when she's pregnant, and I sure feel like I am." "Well if it's not for sure, and do you even know, I mean do you think it's..." he couldn't finish his thoughts "Ok, listen, I'm not sure about anything, but I think me and you should tell Gary together, and I think that time should be now. He's strong enough, and I hate lying to him. I have to tell him, and I thought you'd like to come with" "I think you may be right. Maybe we should just get this over with." Cameron says as he turns to look at Amanda. "Listen I'll be over as soon as I can" and Cameron hangs up. "Cameron, what's wrong? Is it Gary? Did something happen?" "No, Amanda listen, I have to go, I'm sorry, but it's really important" "Now, Cameron I thought...What about this?" as Amanda looks at the barely touched dinner, and the flickering candles. "Amanda, I'm sorry, believe me I am. I promise I'll make it up to you" "Where are you going?" "I have to go. Let's just leave it at that ok?" "No Cameron, let's not. Where are you going? And who was on the phone?" "Amanda..." "Cameron you'd better start talking! And I mean right now." "It was Josie" "What?" "The person on the phone was Josie." "OH, (as Amanda turns away.) Ok I see, you 2 decided you'd better have one more night of passion before the ol husband comes home. (Amanda turns back around to face Cameron) Your probably thinking about how wonderful her skin feels and how silky her hair is. Well ya know what, GO! Have a merry ol time!" Amanda starts to walk off, but Cameron grabs her arm. "Let go of me!" "Listen, Josie and I, we are going to the hospital to see Gary." "Why? Can't the little slut do that on her own?" "No, see she wants to tell Gary about us, and she thought I'd want to come with" "Fine Cameron GO run off with Josie, but don't expect me to be sitting here waiting for you when your little affair is over." "Amanda please don't" "Please don't what?" "Please don't do this. Josie and I are not going to do anything but tell Gary the truth." "Why should I believe you?" "You know what forget it! I'm sick of defending myself, I'm sick of trying to get you to understand, and I'm sick of standing here listening to you tell me what I'm thinking or going to do. I'm not sure why I even came here tonight." Amanda slaps Cameron across the face and with tears in her eyes she responds "I think I made the mistake of asking you here tonight. It's never gonna work out. Were just not ment to be!" Amanda walks off. Cameron starts to appolgize, but decides it's no use. He starts to leave, but before he goes, he watches as Amanda walks up the stairs, crying. The pain in his eyes lets everyone know that he loves her more then life itself. He seceretly wishes he could take back what he said, and a single tear slips down his cheek.
CHAPTER 3
He arrives at the hospital to find Josie already there waiting. "What took you so long?" "Josie don't even start with me. Let's just get this whole thing over with." Gary is happy to see both of them there, but before many words are spoken Josie blurts out what happened. "What?" Gary chuckles not quite believing what he's hearing "Look Gary, we didn't know what we were doing. It ment nothing." explains Cameron Gary is shocked and hurt "I can't believe that while I'm fighting for my life, the 2 of you are rolling around in the sack!" "Look Gary, I know you probably hate, me but it get's worse" explains Josie "How? How could it get any worse?" Asks Gary whose begining to cry "I'm, I think I may be pregnant" "WHAT?" "I'm so sorry! I am! We both thought you were dead, and we, and I thought Cameron was Gary, and he thought I was Amanda. We were both confused" "Confused? You two justify having sex by saying your confused?" "Look, Gary" Cameron starts in, but Gary interrupts "Wait I get it. That's why there was all that tention between you and Amanda. She knew didn't she?" Neither one wanted to answer, but Gary was growing angrier and shouted "DIDN'T SHE?" "Yes Gary, she knew. She saw us together" Cameron explains "Oh my, oh my gosh. My wife and my own brother. Both of you Out. I want you OUT NOW!" "Gary, please, please try and understand" Josie starts in "Understand? Josie your more of a fool then I thought. I love you. I've loved you for such a long time. The happiest day of my life was when we were married, and that night. That very night, you told me we were gonna be parents. I don't know when I was ever happier. Do you remember? We both were so happy. Then you lost our baby. And I understood, I tried to be there for you. We didn't think we could have anymore children. Now, now your carrying my brother's child? And you want me to understand?" "No Gary, I don't even know if I'm pregnant let alone carrying Cameron's baby. It could be yours" "Oh I'll take comfort in hearing those words" "Gary, your my brother, and I" but Gary interrupts "Don't even say that word Cameron. I forgave you. I wanted us to be brothers again! And you re-pay me by sleeping with my wife. Get out Cameron, LEAVE NOW!" Cameron leaves the room, and can still hear Josie and Gary going at it. He steps outside and a storm is moving in. It begins to rain, as Cameron begins to walk, then jog and finally breaks out in a run. He ends up at the park, and sits down on a bench, and buries his head in his hands, and begins to sob.
MEANWHILE: Amanda is at Cory, and is furious. She doesn't understand how she could fall in love with such a scum. She almost let him back in her life! In the midst of her huffing and puffing, she happens to fall apon an unfamiliar folder. "Oops I think Toni left it here by accident" but she notices Sinclair, Gary/Cameron on the side and decides to read it. As she begins she is shocked to read about Cameron and Gary and how they were often beat terribly and about their childhood. Feeling guilty for judging Cameron, and for not trying to understand she sets off to find him. As she leaves Cory, she senses he's at the park, and starts out there in the rain. As her vibe was right, Cameron is sitting on the park bench. She notices he's crying. A flood of emotions came to her. "Oh Cameron, I'm so sorry. Gosh I'm sorry! I want to understand. I promise I will try" Amanda thinks to herself Cameron suddenly feels a presence and turns his teary face towards Amanda's, and they stare into each other's eyes.
CHAPTER 4
As Cameron and Amanda stared at each rain ran down their faces. Cameron's eyes revealed that he was in pain. He turned his head away and started to walk away, but he felt a hand on his arm. He turned around, and saw Amanda right next to him. "Wait please." said a soft lustful voice, that Cameron knew all to well. Without saying a word Amanda slipped her arms around Cameron. Stunned to find Amanda back in his arms AGAIN, he smelled her hair, touched her skin, felt her flesh, as rain poured down around them. Thunder boomed around them, as did lighting. But neither could hear or feel anything else, but each other. Amanda held on for dear life, but Cameron began to pull away. The hurt in his eyes was still there, and Amanda began to wonder what had happened. "What's wrong? What's the matter?" "Amanda," Cameron began in a husky voice, "I can't. I can't let you back in my life. I'll only hurt you. I have only hurt you." "Cameron, we both have hurt each other. I want us to forget, start over. We love each other. Remember you said, can't that be enough? Well, I'm saying YES! Yes it can." With that she pressed her lips onto his. At first softly, but before long both were kissing passionately. Rain continued to pour down, but niether one cared. They just consentrated on each other. They fell to the ground, kissing. But, reality kicked in, and Cameron pulled away.
"Amanda," but she wouldn't listen. She conitued to kiss him "Amanda" with more force "I, we can't. We just can't!" "Why?" "Because there are things you don't know. Things that will only hurt you. Things that will just make this mess more screwed up." With that he turned away, and began to jog toward a shed. Amanda followed. With both safe inside, Amanda began to shiver from being so cold. Cameron walked over to her, and placed his arms around her. "Cameron I don't understand. If we love each other, we can get through anything." she said between shivers. "Somethings are better left alone." "NO, I don't think so. NO secrets. You said, do you remember, when you said you aren't a liar. You would never lie to me? Well, don't start now!" "Amanda, please." "Ok, fine. I'll go first. I find a file on you and Gary. I know what happened to you when you 2 were growing up." Cameron feeling ashmed stepped away from Amanda, turned his gaze in another direction. Before either said another word, a huge bolt of lighting striked the shed, and the shed started on fire. Amanda not seeing a thing, started walking toward Cameron, who already noticed the shed was flaming. "Amanda, we've gotta get out of here, NOW!" With that he grabbed her hand, and they headed toward the door, but it was locked. All of a sudden a huge gust of wind swept in, causing fire to speard all around them. Boards started falling, and Cameron let go of Amanda's hand and busted down the door, as a few boards fall and hit Amanda causing her to collapse.
CHAPTER 5
Cameron runs over to Amanda's side, and begs her to wake up. He can feel the hot flames of fire all around him, and realizes he has to get her out now. He picks Amanda up, and hurries out of the shed. He quickly lays her down, and continues to beg her to awaken. The shed explodes and Cameron says a thank you for letting them escape just in time.
"Amanda come on. Wake up. Amanda please!" Cameron urgers, between his coughing, but to no avail. He grabs his cell phone, and calls 911.
They arrive and Cameron is holding Amanda's hand, and stroking her hair. They place her on the stretcher, and Cameron asks to go along. "No, we can't let you go buddy. You'll have to meet her at the ER." and with that the ambulance doors swing shut leaving Cameron standing alone in the rain.
He starts running towards BC hospital, and remembers his conversation with Josie and Gary. "Oh God. How did I ever get into this mess?" he thinks to himself. "Focus Cameron, all that matters right now is Amanda. Gosh I thought this would all be over." And with that he runs through the ER doors. He runs up to the first nurse he sees starts to cough, and looks pretty sick.
"Where's Amanda? Amanda Cory?"
"She's in ER room 1..." but before she can finish he runs over to the
doors.
"Sir, um Sir, you can't go in there. You'll have to wait in the chairs
over there." the nurse finally finishes.
"I can't. I have to be with her."
"Look I'm sorry, but they are going to do everything they can for her,
and if you're in there you'll just be in the way. Why don't you grab some
coffee, and have a seat."
Cameron looks through the doors, and sees Amanda's bloodied face, and
starts to get teary eyed.
"Amanda, come on" and places his hand on the
door.
"Sir you were in the shed when the fire broke out, weren't you?" asks
the same nurse
"Yes" he repies without turning his head to look at her.
"Well then you need to come with me."
"Why, I can't! I have to be here for Amanda."
"We need to examine you, to make sure you are ok."
"I'm fine!" and begins to cough and sputter "I can do anything you ask,
but just let me stay here."
"It'll only take a second, and she may be in there awhile."
"Ok" he relectanley agrees.
She takes him into a room and sets up some
oxygen for him.
"Sir you should lie back, and get a little rest" and
she leaves him alone.
He lays back and remembers meeting Amanda, kissing her, nearly making love to her twice. He shuts his eyes, and has a dream that he and Amanda are getting married, and they are reciting there vows. All of a sudden he can here noises from outside the curtain, and he pulls it back, to see nurses running out of Amanda's room. He jumps up, and removes the oxygen, and runs over to a nurse.
"What's going on? What happened"
With that he looks inside, and hears a machine start to beep, and then
hears
"BP falling, no pulse, were losing her!! Grab the crash cart."
"A nurse runs out of the room, and yells for another doctor, we've got a
Code Blue"
and runs back inside.
"Code blue? NO!!!!. I can't lose her. I can't lose her."
With that he presses his face against the glass and watches as nurses and doctors try and bring Amanda back.
CHAPTER 6
"Sir please step back." says a nurse to Cameron as he refuses to leave.
He steps back, and heads over to a chair. Sits down, puts his head in
his hands, and begins to cry.
"Cameron? What are you doing here?"
Cameron looks up to see Josie standing before him. Josie saw the pain
on his face and in his eyes.
"Is this still about Gary? I know it's hard, but I think he'll..."
"No" Cameron butt in. "It's Amanda"
"Oh gosh, is she still at it? She'll never give up."
"No she's, she's in there" and points over to the ER room
"What? Why? What happened?"
"A fire. We were talking and it caught on fire. She's fighting for her
life, because of me. ME! I screwed up again. Why do I even bother?
It's all pointless. I'm like posion to everyone."
"WOAH, slow down. What caught on fire? The Cory mansion?"
"No. We were at the park, and..." but before he could finish, a doctor
came out
"I'm looking for the family of Amanda Cory."
"Me, that's me."
"Are you related? Because we can only talk to immediate family."
"Yeah were, she's my wife."
"Wife?"
"Yes, she goes by Cory. We just got married."
"I didn't notice a wedding ring"
"We eloped, and I didn't have time to buy her a ring. We just got back,
and were at the park when it started to rain. Look, her name is Amanda
Sinclair, she's my wife, now tell me what's wrong with her!"
"I'm sorry sir" the doctor began
"Oh god, she's gone. She's dead. After everything we've been through.
She's gone!"
Josie tried to help Cameron, but he could barely maintain
himself. He broke down, and tears came strowling down his cheeks.
"No sir, she's not dead"
"What?"
"She's not dead"
"Oh thank you! OH THANK YOU!" and he jumped up and hugged the doctor.
"When can I see Aman er my wife?"
"She is in very serious condition. She had a ruptured spleen, a
collapsed lung, broken ribs, and some serious blows to the head."
"Wh, what does that mean?" he sturred
"It means, she's in ICU, and is unconsious. We cannot determine if she's
had any brain damage yet."
"Can I see her?"
"Yes, she's in ICU 2"
He dropped Josie's hand, and headed toward Amanda's room. He stopped
and realized her family probably doesn't know yet. He turned back, and
asked Josie to call Rachel and tell her Amanda's in the hospital. She agreed and he turned back towards Amanda's room.
He slowly opened the door to her room, and stepped in. When he saw her, his breath stopped. There were tubes and machines everywhere. He walked over to her bed, and grabbed her hand.
"Hey" he said softly "It's me Cameron"
He began to cry, and decided to leave, for a moment. He stepped out of her room, and came face to face, with Gary.
