David Boreanaz

Boreanaz, 27, while relatively new to the world of acting, David Boreanaz has catapulted to stardom with his quiet intensity as the mysterious and tortured Angel on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." A native of Philadelphia, Boreanaz was exposed to television at a young age - his father is a veteran weather forecaster for WPVI in Philadelphia. Since seeing the inspiring performance of Yul Brynner in "The King and I" at the young age of seven, Boreanaz had a feeling that acting would be in his future. After graduating from Ithaca College, he moved to Los Angeles to try his luck in Hollywood. Prior to BUFFY, Boreanaz guest-starred on "Married ... with Children" and "Men Don't Lie," as well as appeared in several films, including "Best of the Best II" and "Aspen Extreme." As with many Hollywood actors, he has also been seen parking cars at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, handing out towels at a gym,and doing commercials from time to time. Yet, it was while walking his dog in a Hollywood neighborhood that a manager spotted his brooding, intense look and instantly signed his as a client. On Stage, Boreanaz has performed at the Ensemble Theatre in "Hatful of Rain," at the Gardner Stage in "Italian-American Reconciliation" and "Fool for Love," and on theatre row in "Cowboy Mouth." His agency resume lists some of his special skills as dialects (NY, London, German, Italian), basketball, baseball, football, bungee jumping, tennis, skiing, and harmonica.Currently, Boreanaz lives in Los Angeles with his dog, Bertha Blue.

Angel/Angelus

Angel, first appeared in the first episode of Buffy as sort of a "cryptic wiseman", as Buffy put it. He came from Ireland (?), and is nearly 240 years old. Not really old for a Vampire. Made by the Late vampire Darla early in the 18th century. From what we know about him, he has travelled to Budapest, all over Europe, and the U.S. Where he finally came to rest after killing a Gypsy girl and regaining his soul. Heartbroken over what he was, he has not fed on a human being since he regained his soul and has dedicated his life, to protecting Buffy and the slaying of other Vampires. When Buffy moved to Sunnydale, Angel fell in love. He pops up out of nowhere to warn her of new vampires and other threats in town. Buffy was clueless to the fact that Angel's a vampire until, the sixth episode when he gets wounded and saves her from "The Three". She takes him to her house to stay until they leave (Boy is Xander jealous). The second night of his stay, they share a passionate kiss and as hard as he tries to fight it, he reveals his true nature and flees her house afraid of harming her. At the end of the episode she comes to kill him for biting her mother which he never did. She knew she couldn't kill him and she didn't. She finds out the truth and Darla shows up (the one who really bit Buffy's mother). After cornering Buffy with two guns, Darla fails to kill her because Angel intervines, killing Darla. The next night at the Bronze Buffy sees Angel and they decide that it can never work out. They share one last (for now) truly scarring kiss. The final shot is of Angel's chest and the burn where the cross he gave Buffy had seared his chest when they kissed.
