Character: Ricardo Torres
Hank Cheyne plays Ricardo Torres, a detective on the Sunset Beach Police Department.
Born and raised in Santa Maria, California, Cheyne entered the University of Santa Clara as a business major. While playing on the school's baseball team, he tinkered with the idea of a career in professional ball, but opted instead to enter UCLA's School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor degree. Shortly thereafter, while trying to decide what direction he would like his future to take, he met an acting coach. After his first theatrical venture, Cheyne knew he'd been "bit by the bug."
Cheyne went on to capture theatrical roles in such productions as "Mad Woman of Chaillot," "American Life," "The Awful Truth," "The Roof" and "Accommodating Nona." He also co-founded The Tomcat Theater Company in Los Angeles with several actor friends.
Cheyne has accumulated several feature-film credits, including "Bad Blood" with Lorenzo Lamas and "Killing Obsession" with John Savage. His television credits include a recurring role on "One West Waikiki," as well as guest-starring roles on such prime-time series as "ER" and "Dark Justice." Daytime viewers may know him best for his two-year stint as Scott Love/LaSalle on NBC's "Another World," for which he received a People's Choice Award nomination as Best New Actor in a Daytime Series.
Cheyne lives with his wife, Missy, in Santa Monica, California. Cheyne's birthday is August 13. From NBC Daytime
