Dax Griffin Interviews
|
Character: Tim Truman
Dax Griffin plays Tim Truman, who is determined to win back the woman who jilted him and tarnished his ego, Meg Cummings (Susan Ward). Griffin says he can relate to his broken-hearted character on "Sunset Beach" because he, too, was in a long-term relationship that ended abruptly.
The role of Tim Truman is Griffin's first major television gig. A stage actor for the past five years, Griffin has but one other television credit: a Nintendo commercial televised exclusively in Japan.
By the age of 18, he knew he wanted to be an actor. He performed on stage in various Shakespearean productions as well as in such classics as "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and "A Streetcar Named Desire." He began modeling as well. In 1995, he auditioned for several film and television roles, which ultimately led him to "Sunset Beach." He was working as a bartender at the popular Hollywood "swing" club, The Derby, when he was notified that he had landed a part on "Sunset Beach."
A native of Atlanta, Griffin moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the University of Alabama in 1995 with a degree in business marketing and a minor in theater. He credits his Los Angeles acting teacher and mentor, David Beard, with giving him the preparation to become a working daytime actor. Griffin's birthday is March 22. - From NBC Daytime
