Christina Chambers brings Ben's wife back from the dead - and plans a wedding of her own!

Meg's wedding day was suppose to be the most joyous of her life. She was beginning a new life, after all, ushering in a new era as the wife of Ben, the man she loved with every fiber of her being.

But then she showed up. When Meg's amnesiac friend, Dana, caught the bridal bouquet, a gasp was heard around the chapel. This was no ordinary amnesiac... she was Ben's wife, Maria ... his dead wife! The audience's heart sank, and so did Meg's. But no one felt worse about the plot twist than Maria's portrayer, daytime newcomer Christina Chambers

"I think that must have been the most devatating thing for Meg," she admits. "Here Meg is having the happiest day of her life, her emotions are high, and then she finds out Dana is Ben's wife. I think that would be the most traumatic thing, to emotinally plummet that far down."

And maybe at the time, that was the most traumatic thing that Meg ever had experienced. But now, to jump-start her memory, Maria's moved in with Ben and Meg. But it's not like she means any harm. "Maria moved in for Meg's sake," insists Chambers. "As soon as Maria can remember things, she can be declared competent enought to sign divorce papers. She's doing all of this for Meg."

Is the old Mrs. Evans a threat to the new one? "Maybe if Maria didn't know the Meg/Ben connection, she could fall in love with him because Ben is such a great guy," Chambers concedes. "But, right now she wants Ben to be with Meg."

Oh, if only life were that simple. Maria may think that she wants Ben and Meg to get their happily ever after, but subconsiously, she is remembering that Ben is her own knight in shining armor. "Maria can't see anything past getting her memory back, but in the meantime, Meg can see what is happening," Chambers observes. "Maria is beginning to act more relaxed around Ben, but it really hasn't dawned on Maria."

reality CHECK
Though Maria's life remains unclear to her, there's nothing fuzzy about Chambers' back story. "My main goal in acting was to support myself," says the Virginia native.

Maria is her most high-profile role to date, but she already had achieved the objective she set for herself. "Last year around this time, I had about four commercials on the air. I did a lot fo print work and was auditioning all the time."

Of course, there have been some bumps along the road. "My worst acting experience was doing promotional work at a convention," she recalls. "Usually, you just stand there modeling something. But this was a for a medical convention, and they came out with these new neon casts. So, for a whole day I had cast put on my arms and legs. Then, right after they went on, they would saw them off in order to show how easily they could be removed. By the end of it all, I had burn marks everywhere. But I kept on smiling.

Bad acting gigs behind her, Chambers finds her biggest challenge these days is the publicity portion of her job. "It's been odd for me," she offers. "I don't like talking about myself. I get self-conscious

To say that life has been a whirlwind for Chambers would be an understatement. But all the while she was moving from NY to LA, dealing with the movers losing her furniture, and having problems with her new digs, there has remained on constant in her life - her fiance, Brian Logue. "Not to sound silly, but Brian makes everything more colorful," she says. "This job is amazing, but if I didn't have him to share all this with, it would be just empty."

what's NEXT
Although Chambers' mind is firmly set on planning her fall wedding, Maria's future is much murkier. "It's hard to say what she is going to be like once she regains her memory, because we don't know what happened to her for five years," she surmises. "If Maria left town on her own and was hiding from everyone, then I don't think she is going to have a wonderful relationship with these people."

And if it turns out that Maria is hell on wheels rather than heaven on earth...? "I'm sure if the role turns out that way, it would be fun to play, but it's also fun playing an ingenue," says Chambers. "All parts have something juicy in them."
