Question: Would you describe yourself as a physical person?
Answer: I work out at a gym, and I take yoga classes. I made a decision to really take care of my body; I’m really on a kick right now.
Question: What brought about the decision?
Answer: I was in Wyoming visiting a friend who told me that she and her husband wanted this summer to be about improving their health and their bodies. As soon as she said that, I said: “I’m doing that, too.”
Question: Has it been hard?
Answer: Not at all. It’s about focusing – and I’m determined to stay focused on my body.
Question: Are you a sports fan?
Answer: I love football and baseball, and I especially enjoy being in a stadium and watching the games. My father used to play for the Brooklyn Dodgers, so all the girls in my family learned to play.
Question: How is school going?
Answer: Wonderful. I just finished my first year at Santa Monica University (where she is pursuing a degree in spiritual psychology). It was a haul, but I think it really, really turned out well. I think what I have learned has given me better communication tools to work with. It’s helped me deal with upset and disappointment, too. School has helped me get very clear as to what I want in my life.
Question: Do you feel that continuing your education is something that can be done at any age?
Answer: Yes. Spirituality just took different forms when I was growing up. Because I was so precognitive as a child. I had to pay attention to it more. Being spiritual took me out of the realm of formalized religion. I don’t think spirituality and religion are necessarily the same thing, religion sometimes gets bogged down in dogma, while spirituality has to do with the inner essense and a connection that doesn’t have to be found in a brick building that has a steeple on top.
Question: What was it like returning to Party of Five for the season premiere?
Answer: It felt wonderful. Ellie, as a character, is very nasal, very annoying. She definitely has that nails-on-a-chalkboard appeal. She arrived in town for her daughter Kirsten’s wedding, and will undoubtedly be the mother-in-law-from hell for Charlie.
Question: What is next for Kathleen Noone?
Answer: I have several things comimg up: I’m going to be directing some play readings at the Coronet Theater in Los Angeles. I’ll be going back to school next year to get my master’s degree. Party of Five wants me back more, and my agents are really trying to push for more film work.
