DIGEST: How did the two of you meet?

SAUM: The whole cast was in [BEACH honcho] Aaron Spelling's office, and we sat across the table from each other and started talking about our shared experiences in New York. We knew some of the same people, ate at the same restaurants, went to the same places, but we never met.
ADAMS: It was love at first sight.

DIGEST: What were your first thoughts about each other?

ADAMS: She was the most beautiful creature I ever saw in my life.
SAUM: [laughs] I thought he was the finest thing that ever walked. But, with guys who look like that, you always have your preconceived notion, and I had mine. He has that kind of heart-stopping, take-your-breath-away look.

DIGEST: Where did you go on your first date?

SAUM: That's hard to track. I had a boyfriend when we met, so we just did movies here or dinners there and tired to keep it real casual. It's hard to pinpoint our first real date. I broke up with my boyfriend in July, so after that, I had clearance to go for it with Tim.
ADAMS: We had a lot of casual dates.

DIGEST: When did you both know that you were right for each other?

SAUM: A couple of months into our serious dating. Everything about him is infectious. I slowly but surely realized I was doomed [laughs].
ADAMS: I think it was when we first met. It was instinctual.

DIGEST: Did you keep your relationship a secret from the cast in the beginning?

SAUM: Yes. We knew that people would conceive it as taboo. We were very subtle.
ADAMS: We didn't want the environment to be affected by our relationship.

DIGEST: When did you decide to go public?

SAUM: Probably around August. Everybody knew. We were together constantly and we had our stolen kisses around the corridor. It was so obvious, and I just didn't want to hide it anymore. I was so happy.
ADAMS: We didn't hide the little incidents of public affection, so we were bound to be found out.

DIGEST: Tim, is it hard watching Sherri kiss on-screen love Jason George [Michael] all the time?

ADAMS: I don't watch!

DIGEST: Sherri, what is the most romantic thing Tim has done?

SAUM: It was my birthday [October 1]. He knew that I love motorcycles, so he rented a Harley and picked me up, gave me roses and took me to dinner. I just remember thinking "A guy who would do this for me - go to all that trouble. He sought out what meant most to me and did it for me." That really meant a lot.

DIGEST: What are your plans for your first Valentine's Day together?

SAUM: Just spending time with him. I don't need any presents. I hope he doesn't try to outdo himself because I don't see how he could.
ADAMS: I'm devilishly working on something good.

DIGEST: What is your favorite thing about each other?

SAUM: Tim's sense of adventure and spontaneity. Actually, if I have to honest, my favorite thing about him is his New Jersey accent.
