Character: Ben Evans
Clive Robertson played the mysterious and charming Ben Evans, owner of Sunset Beach's Java Web and The Deep.
Clive Robertson waited nearly 20 years to pursue the dream that had silently enticed him since he was a child. He was a military child, the son of a Scottish fighter pilot in Great Britain's Royal Air Force. Robertson's family was uprooted every three years or so, when his father's post would change. Robertson attended boarding school from age eight until he was well into his teens. When he was 15, his father died and Robertson began to feel pressure to live up to his dad's success.
After earning his B.A. from the Oxford School of Business, he worked in marketing for more than a year before realizing he was unfulfilled. He left his job, traveled to East Africa, and reassessed his life. When he returned to London, he enrolled in drama school, and he has been working as a professional actor ever since.
In September 1996, he vacationed in Southern California with a friend, and a chance introduction to her manager led to an audition for "Sunset Beach." Within a few weeks, he moved to Los Angeles to take on the role of Ben Evans, the handsome and mysterious entrepreneur.
Robertson's credits are predominantly in theater. His recent work includes the Wimbledon Open Air Theater's production of "As You Like It," the Theatre Museum's "Breaking the Code" and the Bridewell production of "The Wild Ass's Skin." Among his television credits are recurring roles on the British series "London Bridge" and the immensely popular police drama "The Bill." Robertson also appeared in the independent feature film "Before the Killing Starts" and in the television movie "Paparazzo."
Robertson is an avid theater- and moviegoer. He lives in Studio City, California. His birthday is December 17. From NBC Daytime
