Chap 29
Robin and Lois stood on the Port Charles Bridge one afternoon watching
the sun set over the water. It had been a month since Brenda died and
only a week and a half since Stone died.
"Did I tell you Jagger called me yesterday?" Robin said, breaking the
silence.
"Really? How are he and Karen doing?"
"Pretty good considering."
"Have you talked to Sonny lately?"
"I went over yesterday. He was huddled on the couch covered with that
old blanket Bren loved."
"I asked her about it once. She said she'd had it since she was a kid."
"Luke said Sonny hasn't been eating. I'm worried Lo."
"Me too sweetheart. But what can we do? He has to come out of this on
his own."
"I just hate this so much. I miss Brenda and now Stone's gone too.
Almost everyone important in Sonny's life is gone."
"He's strong and he'll be okay."
"I hope so Lois. I really do."

Sonny lay on the couch covered with Bren's blanket. It still smelled
like her. He had been sleeping on the couch since she died. He couldn't
stand sleeping in their room anymore. He closed his eyes. He wasn't
really tired but when he slept he could forget. Forget that he had lost
the most important thing in his life. As he slept he started to
dream……….
~*~*~*~ He was in some kind of garden. As he looked around he could see
three children playing. Two girls and a boy. Then he saw her. Brenda was
sitting on a bench watching the children.
"Bren?" She turned and smiled at him. She rose from her seat and walked
to him, taking his hands in hers when she reached him. She kissed him
gently.
"Hello."
"Am I dead?"
"No, but then neither am I."
"But everyone said-"
"Stop listening to them and start listening to this." She placed a hand
over his heart. "Do you believe right there that I'm dead?"
"No."
"Then you have to find me. We have a life to live and children to
raise."
"Where do I look?"
"Look to where all the trouble started. Where everything spun out of
control and went straight to hell." Then if as by magic she was gone and
so was everything else. ~*~*~*~
Sonny awoke with a start. He sat up on the couch and thought over
Brenda's words. Where all the trouble started. The tape? No they could
have gotten past that. The night she'd come to tell him she pregnant.
That's when this whole mess started. He leaped up and began to pace.
Ch.30
It had been three months since Brenda's death. Even though Sonny thought
Lily might have set him up the night the had sex, he had no proof and
she had been his rock since the death of Stone and Brenda. The fact that
she was six months pregnant with his child made him decide to marry her.
He knew she would be good wife and mother. She also was the one person
that had never lied to him, well the only one that he never caught
anyway. They had planned to be married in one month. She was living with
him at the penthouse. He was determined to be a good father, even though
his heart was always with Brenda's children. He often thought about her.
He wondered what she would look like being six and half months pregnant.
She would probably be glowing. It still seemed to unreal that she was
gone. He spent most of his nights awake. Thinking of her. She haunted
his dreams. But in his dreams, they were married with a house and five
kids. He always wanted a big family and so did Brenda, but now that
dream of theirs was gone. Forever.

Brenda had been on this ranch for months. She had finally healed. She
had spent the first month in bed. But now she was aloud to walk the
grounds. Her children were growing. She was huge at 6 1/2 months
pregnant, but the fact that all three of her children had made it, she
was happy. She had no idea who was holding her here, or where she was,
all she was told was that this was her home and that she would never see
anyone again.
Chap 31-
Robin walked up to the door of Sonny's penthouse with a heavy heart. She
hated herself for what she was about to do but there was no way around
it. She knocked and a few minutes later Sonny answered the door.
"Hi honey." Sonny said as he hugged her. "Come on in."
"Thanks." She said stepping into the apartment. "Sonny I need to tell
you something."
"Okay. You wanna sit down?"
"No. This won't take long."
"I'm not gonna like this, am I?"
"No. Probably not."
"What's going on Robin?"
"Sonny I love you, you know that don't you?"
"Sure. I love you too."
"Sonny, Brenda was my best friend and she was my big sister."
"I know that."
"Good so I hope you'll understand when I tell you that I cannot watch
you marry a woman she hated. I'm sorry."
"What? Why?"
"Because I can't do that to her. I can't dishonor her memory like that."
"What about Stone's memory? Do you think he would have liked this?"
"Stone and I talked about it before he died and we agreed that if you
married her he'd go but I wouldn't. I'm sorry."
"First Lo and now you. I'm feeling really deserted."
"I'm sorry you feel that way." Robin smiled sadly, kissed his cheek, and
left. Sonny sat down on his couch and leaned back. He wasn't really mad
at Robin or Lois. They were Brenda's best friends. Of course they'd feel
like they were betraying her if they went to his wedding. His wedding.
He was marrying a woman he didn't love because she was pregnant instead
of marrying the woman he did love because she was pregnant. Boy was his
life screwed up.

Lois was walking down Main Street towards Kelly's when a woman's shrill
voice caught her attention.
"I don't care what you have to do. Just keep her there." A pause and
then she went on. "Papa, Brenda Barrett could ruin everything for me. Do
you understand? Everything. Especially if Sonny finds out that she's
alive and I'm not pregnant. Just keep her there. For good." Lois watched
as Lily shut her cell phone and stalked off in the direction of Kelly's.
"Gotcha." Lois said softly, watching Lily walk away.
Ch.32
Brenda walked around the estate, correction prison. She had been here
for several months and was now just slightly over 7 months pregnant. She
was huge and it was hard to walk, but it was her only chance to get out
of her room. She still had no idea why she was here or who was holding
her. No one talked to her, except Luis, and when she asked any
questions, they only said "Be glad you're alive."
"Brenda, come inside and rest. You've been out here for hours."
Luis was her only friend, even if it was in secret. He made sure that
she got enough to eat and enough sleep. They had shared their life
stories. She told him about Sonny and the triplets and even about Lily.
He had told her about his Isabella and their little boy Mateo. Isabella
and Mateo had died in a car accident when Mateo was only a baby.
"I'm fine Luis. Really."
"You're talking to him again aren't you?"
Brenda smiled. She talked to Sonny all the time. She still could not
believe that he was dead. They told her that he had been killed in a car
bombing. He still haunted her dreams though. He always would. In her
dreams they were happy. She could see them watching the triplets play in
a garden. But that was a dream that would never come true. But she had
her children, and now they were everything to her.
Luis and Brenda went up to the house. Luis had become her best friend,
her only friend. He had told her as much as he knew, which was that she
was in Spain and that she was never to leave. He wanted to help her
more, but he couldn't. He knew that he would be risking the lives of all
of them if he did.
Brenda retired to her room for a nap, and Luis went into Madrid. He had
no idea that his trip would change his life forever.

Lois was going crazy. It had been two weeks since she had overheard Lily
on the phone. She had called Mac, the new police commish, about getting
Lily's cell phone tapped. He didn't believe her about Lily, but said he
would help her just the same.
The door to the gatehouse burst opened. "We got it!! WE got the tap on
Lily's cell phone!! Now we can prove to Sonny and everyone else what
Lily's done!"
"Robin, we have to be careful. We have to get Lily's confession on tape.
It's the only way Sonny will believe it. Besides, Brenda is out there,
she's depending on us. We have to get Lily to confess before this
wedding."

Sonny was staring out at the lake. In 2 days he would marry Lily. The
dreams of Brenda had been coming non stop. He thought the fates were
trying to tell him something, but he decided it was just his guilty
conscience at marrying her enemy.

Lily looked at her wedding dress. In 2 days she would finally be Mrs.
Michael Corinthos, Jr. Her plan had worked. She had everything she
wanted. Her father had really come through this time. She was about to
get everything she deserved.

Luis walked by the news stand. It was there that a headline caught his
eye. It was on the New York Times, the tourist paper. It read: "Reputed
Mob Boss, Michael Corinthos to Marry." Corinthos. Corinthos. Sonny
Corinthos, of course! He picked up the paper, and headed back to the
estate. He decided right then that he would help Brenda get back to the
man she loved, no matter what.
Ch. 33
Lois paced the gatehouse. Sonny's wedding was tomorrow and they still
didn't have anything on Lily. Her best friend was God knows where and
her worst enemy was about to marry the man she loved. Just then the
phone rang.
"'lo?"
"Lois? It's me. We got her."
"Are you for real?"
"Oh yeah. We got her good and it's airtight. Now I talked to Uncle Mac
and he thinks we should expose her as soon as possible."
"How's this for a plan? Tomorrow at her wedding when the priest asks if
anybody objects we say we do and play the tape as a reason."
"Lois that's brilliant."
"You bring Mac and the tape, not to mention the police and I will bring
my loud voice and my left hook so I can knock the little tramp out."
"Get in line. I reserve the right to punch Lily first. I've known Brenda
longer."
"Whatevah! Listen Scorpio….."

"Luis I don't understand. Where are we going?" Brenda asked as she was
led down to the docks of the island.
"There's no time to explain. You just need to get below when we get on
the boat. It's very important that you stay down there until I say
otherwise."
"Alright but I still don't understand what's going on."
"You will soon enough." Luis looked around. So far so good. No one had
spotted them. This was their only chance to get off the island and get
Brenda back to the states in time to stop Sonny from making a horrible
mistake.

Lily hummed to herself as she hung up her wedding gown. Soon, very soon,
she would have what she worked so hard for. She would have Sonny. She
had planned it so perfectly. After the wedding she would fake a
miscarriage and then a year or so later she would really get pregnant.
It was perfect and there was nothing standing in her way. Nothing.

Sonny sat in his penthouse with his head in his hands. He would marry
Lily tomorrow. It was over. Any chance he and Brenda ever had was over.
If she was alive he'd never know his children and he'd never hold her
again. His life was over.
Ch.34
Luis was relieved. They had made it out of Spain and were on a plane
bound for PC. He looked over at Brenda. She was still reeling from what
he had told her. He had told her everything. He had found out everything
when he had gone back to the estate. The boss was there. Luis had
overheard Hernando Riveria talking on the phone to his daughter. Luis
had heard everything.
Brenda could not believe what Luis had just told her. Lily had done
this. She had faked her pregnancy when she didn't get pregnant that
night she drugged Sonny. Lily had made everyone believe Brenda was dead.
She had taken everything from Brenda. Brenda was pissed. She had never
been so angry. She turned to Luis who was watching her.
"Thank you Luis, so much."
"I just hope we are not late for the wedding."
"Luis, you left everything for me, you risked your life. I'll never
forget that."
"There was nothing left for me once Isabella and Mateo died. I am glad
that you can have a second chance with the man you love."
"Well, if they don't throw me in jail we will."
"Jail?"
"Luis, here in America murder is a crime. And when I see Lily I am going
to kill her."
The pilot came on and announced there descent into Port Charles
International airport.
"Well, may the best woman win." Brenda said as they circled over the
airport.

Lily hummed softly as she stood in front of the mirror in her wedding
dress. In one hour she would have everything that was rightfully hers.
"Too bad you won't be here to see me marry Sonny, Brenda! But, it seems
you will be on a vacation for a long time!!" She laughed. Her father
came in. He looked upset.
"Papa, you're here!! I thought that you were going to miss my wedding!"
"Lily, I just came from the estate in Spain. She's gone!"
"What! What do you mean she's gone! Where is she!"
"We don't know. I have my men looking for her."
"Can't you do anything right! She could ruin everything!"

Sonny was dressed in his tux. Jason and Luke came into the room. They
both knew Sonny was only marrying Lily for the sake of his child. But
this was killing him. He stared at a picture of Brenda and pressed it to
his lips. "Forgive me Brenda. I love you." He walked over to Luke and
Jason. "Well, I guess we better go, before I change my mind." The three
men went down stairs to take their places at the altar.

Brenda and Luis hailed a cab and headed towards the church. Brenda
prayed that they would be on time to save Sonny from marrying that
thing.

Lois and Robin sat in the church and watched as Sonny, Jason and Luke
take their places. The wedding march started and Lily started down the
aisle on her father's arm. She was terrified that something would go
wrong, but she was hiding it well. Lois and Robin smiled sweetly at Lily
as she walked by. Lily thought it strange that they had changed their
minds and decided to come after all. Finally Lily reached the altar. Her
father gave her hand to Sonny and the priest began the wedding.
Ch. 35
"Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to join Lily Elena Riveria
and Michael Corinthos Jr. in holy matrimony. If there is anyone with a
just cause as to why these two should not be joined let them speak now
or forever hold your peace."
"I object." Robin spoke up.
"Me too." Lois chimed in.
"Me three." Mac said from the back of the church.
"What?" Sonny looked bewildered at the objection.
"Can I ask why you object?" The priest said looking confused at the
objection. Lily was white and her father was red.
"Why is it we object again Robin?"
"Well I think it has something to do with this. Hit it Mac." Mac nodded
and pressed a button on a remote control and Lily's voice came over the
speakers.
"Papa keep Brenda there. She could ruin everything. No he doesn't know
I'm not pregnant. Would he be marrying me if he knew that?" Mac,
deciding that that was enough pressed another button and the tape
stopped.
Sonny looked at Lily with rage in his eyes. "Where is she? Where's
Brenda? Damn you tell me."
"I'm right here." A voice spoke up from the back of the church. A very
pregnant Brenda was standing there with Luis by her side.
Ch.36
Everyone gasped as they stared at Brenda. Brenda and Luis made their way
up the altar. Sonny couldn't take his eyes off her. Lily was now fuming.
Brenda walked past Lois and Robin who were just as surprised as anyone
to see her and walked right up to Lily. She punched her dead in the face
throwing Lily to the ground. Hernando jumped up and started to lunge at
Brenda, but Luis, grabbed him first. Lily was on the ground staring up
at Brenda.
"You stole everything from me you bitch! She broke me and Sonny up when
you drugged him. (Sonny looked shocked)You hired people to kill me and
then you kidnapped me and held me prisoner at your father's estate in
Spain and let everyone think that you were pregnant and that I was
dead!!! Well, sweet innocent Lily, you better start praying that you die
at an early age because I am going to make your life a living hell for
the rest of your miserably pathetic life!
Everyone sat there reeling at what had just played out in front of them.
Brenda was back from the dead and very pregnant. Lily was not pregnant
and was worse than any villain that Disney could come up with. And then
there was Sonny. He was trying to take it all in. But it was
overwhelming. Everything that he believed to be true for the last 7
months was turned upside down and backwards.
Just then bullets started to fly. Rivera's men had followed Luis and
Brenda. They had been given the orders to shot on sight. The guests
ducked under pews. Sonny watched in horror as Brenda was hit. Luis
jumped and pushed her to the ground as he was hit with a second bullet.
Mac and the rest of the PCPD and Sonny's men started shooting and killed
Rivera's men. The whole incident took only a few minutes.
After it was quiet, Sonny got up and ran over to Brenda and Luis. He
pulled Luis off her not knowing who this man was, but thankful that he
had tried to save her. Once he got to Brenda he gently turned her over.
She was bleeding, but conscious. "Brenda, is it really you?"
"Sonny, my babies. My babies are hurt. There's something wrong, I'm
bleeding." She was sobbing. That's when Sonny noticed the pool of blood
between her legs. Oh, G*D please don't take my children from me now.
Ch.37
Sonny paced around the hospital waiting room. Brenda had been brought to
GH along with Luis over two hours ago. No one else had been hurt by
Rivera's gunmen. However, Riveria had escaped from the church, Sonny had
men looking for him, but so far nothing. Lily had been taken to jail,
for ordering the murder and kidnapping of Brenda.
Tony and Alan walked into the waiting room. Lois, Robin, Luke and Jason
looked up. Sonny ran over to Tony and Alan. "What's going on? Why can't
I see her? Are the babies alright? Why was she bleeding?" the questions
were coming to fast. He had so many to ask them, but even more to ask
her.
Sonny was now joined by Lois, Robin, Luke and Jason. Alan looked at
them. "Sonny, there's a tear in the placenta. That's what caused the
bleeding. You have to make a decision. She can deliver now and live and
the babies will have a chance, or you can wait."
"And if we wait? What happens to Brenda and the babies?"
"If you wait it will increase the risk for Brenda."
"So you're telling me I have to choose between the woman I love and the
lives of my children? What kind of choice is that! I need to talk to
Brenda. Have you told her?"
"Yes. She wants to wait, but I advise you to make her change her mind.
Sonny it's the only way all of them will have a chance. If she waits,
she will almost certainly die."
"And if we don't my children will."

Sonny walked into Brenda's room. She saw him and held out her arms. He
went into them and she cried. "Sonny we have to wait. They aren't big
enough to survive yet."
"Brenda, I can't lose you. Alan said that the best chance for all of you
was to have the surgery now."
"NO!!!!! I won't!!! Sonny, I can't do that! They are all I have! They
are what I have been living for!! You can't ask me to sacrifice my
children just so I can live, that's not what a mother does. She does
what's best for her children. That's why we have to wait!"
"Brenda, no. We can't. I thought I lost you once already, I won't lose
you again. The babies are only 6 weeks early. Alan said they have a
chance at life. But they need their mother to help them through it. If
you die those babies are going to be left with me. I'm no good at
showing emotions, you are. They need you. I need you. Please, Brenda."
Alan poked his head inside. "Have you made a decision?"
Ch 38
"A few more minutes okay Alan?"
"Okay." Alan pulled back outside the room and Brenda looked at Sonny.
She drew in a shaky breath and took Sonny's hand. She pressed it to her
face and closed her eyes. When she opened them again they were swimming
with tears.
"Will you be there when I come out of surgery? I want your face to be
the first thing I see."
"I'll be there. I promise."
"I love you."
"I love you too. Always."
"And forever." She took a deep breath. "Go get Alan before I change my
mind." Sonny kissed her forehead and went out to tell Alan their
decision.

Sonny paced the floor of the waiting room. Lois and Ned, who had come
home from New York as soon as Lois called him, sat in a corner holding
each other. Jason and Robin were holding hands and Luke kept going for
coffee. There were about twenty cups of untouched, ice cold coffee on
the table.
"What the hell's taking so long? It's been two hours."
"Sonny things like this take time." Robin said gently.
"I know. I know. I'm just."
"Scared. Me too." Lois finished from her corner.
"Thanks Lo." Sonny was about to start pacing again when Alan and Tony
walked up to the group. Sonny was the first to reach them.
"Is she okay? Are the triplets okay? What took so long? What happened?"
Ch.39
Alan looked at Sonny. "They made it through the surgery. Congratulations
Sonny. You are the father of two little girls." Sonny looked at him.
"But, I thought-"
"And a son. They are very small and are in an incubator, but they still
have a chance."
"What about Brenda?"
"She's doing fine. She is confined to bed rest for two weeks though. She
lost a lot of blood and she's weak. She's been yelling at me that she
wants to see the babies since she woke up."
"Alan can't something be done? I mean so she can see them?"
"No. They can't be moved and neither can she, but you can go if you
want. Of course you will only see them through the incubator."
"Yeah. Can I go now?"
"Sure."
Sonny followed Alan to the neo-natal ward. Sonny was so ecstatic that he
was a father. Alan let him into the room with the triplets. Sonny looked
at each one. The were all so tiny, but each one of them was absolutely
perfect. He wiped the tears from his eyes. He wanted to touch them, hold
them, but he couldn't. He watched them for a long time before he left to
go see Brenda.
He came in her room with a bouquet of red roses with two pink ones and
blue one. "Sonny!!! Did you see them? Are they OK? Are they beautiful?
Well, don't stand there TELL ME!!!!"
Sonny laughed. "Sweetheart, they're gorgeous. and Alan and DR. Stromberg
think they have a very good chance."
Brenda started crying. she was happy, angry, but most of all relieved.
"Sonny, I want them to be OK. They have to be."
"They will be. They're fighters just like their mother, and just as
beautiful."
"Sonny, what about Lily? I'm so sorry that you got hurt by her, but I
want her to pay for what she did to us."
Sonny's face became rigid at the mention of her name. He wanted to kill
her for what she had done to Brenda. She had almost killed her and his
children. She had made them suffer for months and now it was her turn.
"Sweetheart, Lily is in jail. She's going to get everything she has
coming to her. She's never going to hurt you or the kids again. I swear
on the lives of my children."
He gently kissed her. "So, what should we name them?"
Brenda had know for weeks what she wanted to name them. She leaned over
and whispered to Sonny.
Sonny smiled. "They're perfect."
Part 40~
Sonny walked down the hall from the neo-natal ward to Brenda's room. He
carried three teddy bears in his arms along with flowers from Luke and
Laura. He was met at the door by Alan, who looked frazzled.
"Enter at your own risk."
"Why? What's goin' on? She's okay, isn't she?"
"Oh yeah she's fine. Do you know she's got a great throwing arm?
"Come again?"
"Every time someone tries to draw blood from her she throws something at
them. Poor Amy got drenched by a pitcher full of water." Sonny giggled
at the image and Alan shook his head as he walked away. Sonny slowly
opened the door and stuck the flowers through the crack. He heard Brenda
giggle and decided it was safe to enter.
"Hi Honey. Who are the flowers from?"
"Luke and Laura. These are from me. See I had shirts printed up with the
names of the triplets." Brenda took the bears from him and read the
names aloud.
"Kassidi Adella. Kaitlyn Veronica. Kyle Stone. Honey they're adorable."
"So are you." he kissed her lightly. "So how're you doing?"
"Baby, I'm going stir crazy. I mean my children are 2 1/2 weeks old and
I don't even know what they look like."
"They look like E.T."
"Ha-ha! Very funny."
"They're adorable and they're getting bigger and stronger every day. Now
I talked to Dr. Meadows and she thinks another week or so and they
should be ready to break outta this joint. You on the other hand are
ready for release in about two days. Which means-"
"Which means we need a house, a site for the new store. Lourdes can run
the one in New York. I need to have the penthouse packed up and the
stuff shipped here. What else?"
"Honey take a breath. Every thing's being taken care of."
"How?"
"I talked to Lois and Julia. Julia said she left everything how you had
it in the penthouse so she's just gonna have people pack it up and ship
it out here. I gave her the address of Luke's. Mike said he doesn't mind
storing stuff for now. I sent Lois to the realtor and told her to get
every kind of listing she could find. She should be here soon."
"Good. I'm telling you right now. The place we get better be huge."
"Why?"
"Honey we just had triplets for one. For another I have two businesses
to run, you have a business to run, and your bodyguards and Jason need a
place to stay."
"Why don't we just buy a street?"
"Honey don't be silly we can't buy a street. But what about a
warehouse?"
"A warehouse?"
"Yeah. I mean think about it. We could buy one. A really huge one. We
could turn the bottom into the store and some offices. Then the next
level could be half our first floor and the other half could be an
apartment for Jason. Then we could just build the rest of our house in
the rest of the warehouse. I mean think about it. You could have a huge
kitchen. We could do security any way we wanted. Honey do you like this
idea?"
"I love it. But there's something we need to talk about."
"What?"
"Lily."
