CLASSIC JONNY QUEST

Very few television shows have been able to inspire the kind of loyalty and sense of nostalgia in their viewers as has the classic series "Jonny Quest." A generation of scientific technicians, animators, action-adventure writers, film-makers and even astronauts credit their childhood visions of the future to this amazing series, which was able to combine exciting themes with exotic locales and memorable heroic characters we've loved for over forty years.

At the age of ten, blonde, blue-eyed Jonathan Quest is living a dream! The son of a noted scientist, he lives on the secluded Palm Key Quest Labs compound with his dad, Dr. Benton Quest, his own personal bodyguard, Race Bannon, his adopted brother, Hadji, and his bulldog puppy, Bandit. While not the most scholarly of children, Jonny excels at physical activities such as judo and karate,
has a quick, analytical mind and, much to his father's concern, has a tendency to be impulsive and a bit reckless.
He loves watching Hadji perform magic tricks and enjoys scuba-diving and swimming.

Gifted with quick wit, an agile, slight build and a brilliant mind, young Hadji grew up in the poorest of surroundings in the city of Calcutta, India. The parentless foundling supported himself by public performances of feats of magic such as the Hindu rope trick and snake charming. At times he traveled with his "old and venerable" friend and mentor Pasha, a peddler of seemingly limitless inventory, to the many great cities and regions of his homeland, including Kashmir, Northern Bharat and Bombay. Blessed with a gift for perception of the paranormal, he once spoke of meeting the ghost of a princess who turned into a water lily right before his eyes! Perhaps it was this psychic gift which aided him in saving Dr. Quest from an assassin's knife, thereby earning for himself Benton's undying loyalty, a place in the Quest family
and on the Quest Team. His favorite pastimes include swimming, water-skiing, playing with Bandit
and practicing levitation, usually with Jonny as his less-than-willing subject!

Dr. Benton C. Quest is a man of many talents indeed: a brilliant scientist, an expert marksman, and both an accomplished pilot and sailor. His sons would probably say that his most important attribute is that he is a loving and caring father who never stays upset about their antics for more than a few minutes. A man of great compassion, he has donated large amounts of both his wealth and time to worthy social causes, assisted in tracking down war criminals and aided governments in making space travel safer and more comfortable for astronauts. Though he is kept constantly busy by his many projects, he never fails to find time to spend with his sons. Kindly and quick with a laugh, he may become stern at times due to the boys' uncanny ability to disappear on him at a moment's notice, but the glint in his eyes betrays his pride at their ability to cope with whatever mystery and adventure they find wherever in the world he takes them.

Roger T. Bannon, or "Race," was once a farmboy, the son of Sarah and John Bannon of Wilmette, Illinois. As a young man, he entered military service and advanced to the ranks of the elite Navy SEALS where he received hand-to-hand combat and rescue training. He eventually joined the covert agency, Intellegence One. This is a part of his past which is still shrouded in mystery, though his close association with the sultry spy "Jezebel" Jade Kenyon is a clue to some of his yet untold adventures. While still with I-1, he was assigned to guard the young son of Dr. Quest, for it was feared that enemy agents might attempt to use the child to bargain for sensitive information, thereby compromising Dr. Quest's value to the government agencies which contract for his services. Race became Jonny's tutor and physical education instructor, and Jonny loves nothing better than an afternoon of Judo lessons from his own resident hero. Tree-top tall and devilishly handsome,
Race spends much of his time on Palm Key keeping Jonny and Hadji active
with studying and excercise, but the biggest job of all is keeping them out of trouble!

Rin-Tin-Tin, Lassie, Laddadog and Scruffy have nothing on the Quest's favorite pooch, the irrepresible, irresistible Bandit! This plump little puppy gets all the attention he needs from Jonny and Hadji, though the adults of the household have been known to pamper him just as much. Bandit's favorite pastimes include napping on the beach and chasing other small animals, but on the day that he chased a skunk through the Canadian timberlands, he discovered that retreat can be the better part of valor! When you visit the Quests' home,
be sure to bring a camera and lots of film; this pup LOVES to have his picture taken!
